As you saw from the video we started the investigation believing that the 12v output from the boost circuit was dragging lots of current. This was in fact a false lead, and attention turned to the boost circuits inability to supply more than 15mA before itself sinking 2 to 4 amps. Feeding and external 8v into a stand alone head should take 160mA. Hope this helps//joe
bought my ic7000 on fleebay... it starting doing the exact same thing after it was stored for a while... it worked nicely before in the semi before it was stored...well this gives me some direction of what to do with the $800 brick >.> sounds like a new/used replacemnt faceplate is in order.
