I just purchased one of these Today with the microphone, mounting bracket, a Kantrocics 98 TNC, & a small power supply for just $75. It was left in a business when they closed & it appears it was forgotten. It's mine now & it's a nice radio to go with my ICOM 7600 & ICOM 9100. It’s very simple to operate but different from most Amateur Radios because it doesn’t have a normal VFO which doesn’t click when you turn it. It’s not my main radio just an extra to play with when I’m bored. It’s doing over 150 watts peak on SSB & around 140 watts peak on AM so I don’t know if the output was turned up or not? It does 70 watts peak on AM & around 100 watts on SSB peak on 10 meters. The reports have been great across the USA & from the DX outside of North America. Wish I could step the VFO tuning speed Up as they did with the M710.👍👏🎙
I just also picked up the ICOM M710 and it’s even better than the M700 PRO but the M700 PRO Is a nice HF Transceiver that just needs a good DSP Speaker or DSP Module.I have Sold the M700 PRO & I also have the M710 For Sale since I also purchased an ICOM 7700 from a friends Estate.👍🎙
@@jefferson23644 depending upon the version (there are two different ones) one requires software and the other is a simple push of a couple of buttons. Mine was unlocked when I purchased it so I don’t know which version I had.I sold it to a friend and it works great for him as an extra HF Base Radio.I saw a RU-vid video on the simple version mod months ago but I don’t know if the video is still posted?
Did you push the Mode Button? There are Mods online that instruct you how to Unlock the radio for the Amateur Bands so I’m guessing that would allow for each band to be in the correct SSB Mode?
It’s Very Simple to operate but it has very few adjustments.I have owned the ICOM 718 and I prefer the M700 PRO over the 718. The radio is built far better than any Amateur Transceiver I have ever seen or owned. The construction is far Superior to any I have ever came across since getting into the hobby in 1994.It’s an ICOM so of course it’s AWESOME.👍🎙
@@1OFGODSOWNGood afternoon How do I set the ICOM frequency? My radio appears to be locked and "EMER" appears, so I can't use it. Would you have any tips?
