I'm obsessed with Icon! I passed the chance of buying the tickets when they were released back in 2022 thinking "how am I buying something for 2 years from now? I'm gonna wait". Now, I ended up loosing the opportunity because of today's prices. Since Icon arrived in Miami I couldn't stop looking for content of it and all the valuable information that you always provide! haha Somehow, yesterday I was able to find a miracle and I bought my iconic vacation for next month! 🥳 I got my popcorn and I'll enjoy watching this ship tour for the next 90 minutes! Can't wait!
Good for you! I really want to go on it. I just have to figure out who can go with me because most of my family does not like big ships. SMH. But at some point, I'm going with or without them.
@@shaniaday2739 You should! Don't miss the opportunity. I'm glad I was able to find a miracle yesterday and book what I wanted for so long! You should try to find something as well!
I really find it next to impossible to see any are of this ship and it’s experiences that you failed to address. Taking grandkids on it later this year. Thank you so much. I can’t imagine the work you put into this.
Can't wait!!! I don't think I'm going to have enough time to enjoy all the amenities of the Icon in just 1 week😮. Spring break is going to be awesome. 🙌🏼
Thank you Matt and everyone else involved in putting together this great ship tour. So good to see the finished ship after all the anticipation,. Looking forward to hearing about and seeing more of the Icon in the coming weeks and months. "Thank you" to all the Royal Caribbean Blog team for providing helpful information in such an accessible way😊
I went to a college with around 7,000 students. The fact that the ship can hold the population of my school plus thousands more is shocking and incredible
I'm obsessed with this ship, I've been waiting for a video like this, superbly put together, super informative, nice slow panning shots, absolutely can't fault this at all, although A cruise for me and my family is not possible due to cost, I'm still hoping one day we will be able to sail on her, she's a stunning ship, and an absolute masterpiece of construction. My Dreams are as big as ICON. Amazing
You have the best RC videos by far. Thanks for all your help with informing cruisers! All of the videos that I’ve seen so far show very few non-“in-the-water” lounge chairs that are in the full sun… I feel like these are the ones that everybody always goes after on sea days. Do you feel there are enough non-water-loungers in the full sun?
Thanks for this amazing tour!!!! I watched it 3 times! LOL But seriously, I cannot wait to get on this ship and see all of this in person! And.... Chairpoline? 🤣🤣
Can I get in the mail brochure with prices very interested. Sounds wonderful need dialisys three times a week Eloísa Meric 66 Pasadena Ave Lodi, N J 07644 From where you leave How much the price of a companion with no dialisys. Thank you
Just want to quick say how glad I am you’re saying “included in your cruise fare” as opposed to “free”. We pay for these things, so the credit is to us the consumer, not cruise line’s benevolence. Great video! Thanks for your hard work.
Wow 🤩 I was able to see back on 1/12 while we was docked at perfect day coco Kay. I was on the Mariners of the sea which is a great ship but however Icon of the Seas is definitely world renowned ❤classic. Can’t wait to board the Icon of the Sea!! 🎉
You know i saw the time of this blog and i was like OMG how long - BUT i watched every single second and loved it even saying wow a few times. Such details and depth is what others miss and i loved it. She is amazing
Re: 4:47 I'd call those things "trampolines." On catamaran sailboats, the area between the two hulls at the front has a similar woven "net" area called a trampoline that's just like those seating areas on Icon.
Right why not explore, go to the pool, go to the buffet, even make friends they just stare at their phones like they can’t do that after , everytime i go to a cruise ships we get our electronics taken away and they stay at home except My parents for pictures and other stuff you have to do on the phone
This was the inaugural sailing for the ship, and the people invited were travel agents and travel influencers. The majority of these people were working.
I appreciate how you did not include showing the lobster, crab and filet mignon at the Windjammer in this video. So many bloggers are filling their videos with limited time/special event offerings that you will only find at the WJ right now. To me it is false advertising to the masses that the ship will be offering that extravagance complimentary at the included dining venues moving forward. I love that RCCL is doing these special offerings and will be taking advantage of them the week of Jan 27, hopefully, but I am completely aware that these are not sustainable options on this or any cruise at the price point most guests are paying.
You know what I really like about Matt? He presents some of these features like Royal Caribbean is the first company to think of them haha I still can't tell if Royal is paying him but they need to be for how he hypes them up!
Great video. It truly shows how RC has moved away from crossing being all inclusive. While the ship is impressive, we had ZERO desire to sail her. Wish RC would get a new small ship to get into Baltimore.
Great video Matt! I’ve been following this ship since I heard about it Summer 2023. Hoping the prices will go down in the next 2-3 years and I can book a cruise on it in the future!
I am so looking forward to our family cruise on Feb 10th with Icon. I am looking forward to some quality family time , especially since my oldest daughter is seventeen and soon off to college.
What a great, in-depth tour of this massive cruise ship and everything it has to offer. Was a bit surprised that there wasn't a more detailed run-through on all the accommodation options and what they offer. It's such an important part of your cruise, and what you had felt a bit tacked on at the end.
Matt! Meyer Turku recently posted your ship tour to show off their new ship. What a great recognition for you. This just proves to me (and by their post, Meyer Turku agrees) that you are making some of the best cruise news content available. Congratulations from Cheryl and me.
Im sad they didnt put in an "indoor" basketball court (like on Ovation of the Seas)!!! I wish we could get them to do that for Star of the Seas (any thoughts) :) ?
@@gre3n3rSome of the "best" ships in the world have them!(1) Odyssey of the Seas/RCL (2) Meraviglia - MSC. Sailed on both and they are awesome! They can be used for other things too! (Pickleball, Volleyball, Gymnastics, Bumper Cars, Yoga, Dancing) - and in "any weather". The rooms were always 100% full! (with people) On our last cruise ship (MSC Seashore) built in 2021 - it (outdoor court) was almost always "abandoned" (bent rim, windy) made for tough bball). If anything they should do a "larger" indoor court (for all activities (rain or shine)!!! Im sure everyone would love it. But if you want the "outdoor aspect" put in a 'retractable sky roof!
Ahhh I can’t wait to go on this ship! We got free offers for a balcony room from the casino royale for April and May (were big cruise gamblers) and we were looking to do an extended family vacation for 8 of us but the price point was too high for other group (14k for the family room w/bunk beds) - so were going to do an oasis ship instead. Hoping to get on this next year though! Almost don’t even have to leave the ship on port days! There’s so many food venues and places to relax, amazing! Thank you for this video!
Fantastic video! Right up there with all the best horror movies. I watched it in awe of how the SAD is not just causing obesity but mobility issues. Well done for capturing all the anxiety inducing elements of a floating Hell. Just imagine this ship with a full complement of passengers! Petrifying!
Oh my gosh!!!! We have to get on this ship! We plan to do a huge grad party in May/June 2026 for 2 of our munchkins who will have earned Icon! Matt, you did such an amazing job with your crew showcasing Icon. Ahhh, can't wait to be there!!!
I am up the road from the wizard of Oz museum. Sounds like a great show. Kinda sad the aqua dome doesn't have pools in them when the weather gets bad. Amazing ship still.
The staffing works like through four companies. Like nobody knows who contacts who, but in the end some guys work on those ships. You often find five or six contacts before you end at the worker
Thanks again! Sent you a direct email msg on the blog website about the snacking charges. Basically, give a discount or stipend to use for those venues (like Playmakers) used to be for unlimited dining. One venue (of choice) per day, per person (20$) or a general discount for those venues (like chefs table does) if you have purchased unlimited dining.
I wish I could watch this now but I have my first cruise on the voyager soon and I don't wanna ruin the little fun I'm gonna have by wishing I was on the Icon LOL
This ship has too much for me but it is extremely well done. And, while I'm a Celebritiy fan this ship to me blows away the underwhelming Edge class ships. It has dueling pianos, Bolero, a dedicated comedy club, an overview forward observation lounge, a jazz club. That's a lot of choice in venues for music/dance spaces. And it has so much color, something lacking in Edge. I would take a version of this ship without all of the beachy stuff. The dining venues are interesting as well. I would also take a different version of Empire Supper Club. That's fine for a really high-end meal with jazz. But I'd take a tapas kind of place with alternating jazz, blues, Latin, flamingo, Afrobeats, 50s/60s popular music where food could cost say $55 but it is in the form of tapas and more emphasis is on the drinks, music, dancing. It's an impressive ship even though it's not really a ship but more of a resort area scaled to float. Also, kudos to this video and the folks that produced it. Outstanding job.
there are many things missing in surfside if you compare to the vr tour. the arcade floor section is missing the colorful square pattern. there is a shop next to surfside eatery that wasnt added. the candy cane giraffes got replaced by the flamingo
Vacation is something that I want to be away from people and just chill..... But when he introduced "the chill island" on this ship, I really want to go on board..
Best real world view of the packages I’ve seen. Thank you for the authentic and fun view along with the factual presentation of the packages. You guys rocked it. #FullOutFun
I plan on recording a ship tour when we sail on February 17th for our own RU-vid channel (and vlog daily) and there is no way it will measure up to this Matt. You have set the bar so high, this came out beautifully! Thank you for taking the time to record and edit this video, you are the 🐐
I love the videos and the information. I have been loyal to Royal for over a decade however life happens and I would love to know more about how to navigate the ICON as a person with disabilities and with a wheelchair. I don't know anything about how to get around and I only see stairs everywhere, except the main elevators. Can you please do a video for disabled people like me? This Diamond girl wants to cruise 😊
4:50 you can call the funny seating "concave loungers". I just came up with this on my couch, I 1000% expect full credit for this stroke of literary naming genius!!
Matt, This video shoud be required to watch to complete the Royal Carribean travel agent training certification on the Icon of the Seas!!! You guys are so much more through!!!
