Icon of the Seas - Honest Review 

Thank you for your video. I'm glad I wasn't the only one with the same opinion, especially with not a lot to do. It was nice to meet you in person on the ship. I also noticed a lot of things I wanted to do coincided with other things we already had scheduled. It was very geared for the kids. I also complained that there was no quiet place to decompress. Even the rooms (noticeably thin walls) were loud at times. Thank you again for your insight!

I just got off the icon of the seas a few days ago. I Did not spend any extra money aside for wifi for 1 day, taxi cab money to go to the beach in roatan & 1 excursion in Cozumel. I booked via an agency to attend one of my niece's Quinceañera celebration. Due to this, I was able to attend private parties that included open bars for 4 out of the 7 nights, so I did not purchase a drink package. Although RC charges extra for many restaurants and activities, they also have so many events and activities included. I saw the aqua show, ice skating show on deck 6, went to the clubs in the music hall, went to boleros bar to enjoy live salsa performers, enjoyed jazz music in central park, enjoyed violin performers near boleros on day 6, went to a comedy show, sang karaoke, went to play pool on deck 6, enjoyed the pools, waterslides and jacuzzis, among many other things I did on the ship without paying extra. I also stuck to the 7-8 complimentary restaurants and cafes and ate a whole bunch (Im talking about 7+ meals a day, I went from 131 to 139 lbs being on the ship lol. Found out on day 6 when I had to weigh myself on the waterslide) Day 1 and Day 6 unlimited lobster at the windjammer. I think night 3 had lobster in the formal dining room and they gave me like 4 large lobster tails in total. I ate a variety of delicious meals & desserts all over the ship without spending extra. I made sure to eat the more expensive items like lamb chops, steak, shrimp and lobster to get my moneys worth. In cococay I went to the snack shack (included) went to the buffet section (included). Went to the free beach (the cove, near south beach) walked thru the nature trail and saw roosters, snails, crabs. Saw a tiger shark and sting ray at the cove (beach in coco cay). Went to the free pool too. My 3rd cruise, and this was my favorite ship so far. I suggest future cruisers to make use of the app, it shows all of the included activities and food.

I don't think cruising is for you.

It's unfortunate that you're focusing on everything negative. You seem to dwell on that. You mentioned a couple of good things, but it was almost an afterthought. "We saw the Aqua Show, the Aqua Show was great. We saw Wizard of Oz, Wizard of Oz was really nice." That was it. You went right back to talking and expounding on the negative. Every cruise has negative aspects. But you have to concentrate on the good. Maybe cruising isn't for you. I've been on 21 cruises, and trust me, some of them were far from perfect! But I still enjoyed them and I will continue to take cruises. I'm booked on the Icon in October 2024, and I'm really looking forward to it! Don't expect it to be perfect - but who cares? It's a cruise!

You're the only one with negative aspects. You must don't like cruising because everything you mention is not that serious. Your dinner planning coinciding with other things is on you.

Dude, who pissed you off? Let's be serious with your review. I have never been on Royal where nothing is going on. I enjoy laying by the pool, that all I need. Cruising is not for you, bud. You need someone to entertain you all day, sad.

You overlook the amazing aqua show comments and so much more to focus on the negatives of each day??? I book private tours so I don’t understand being ‘stuck’ with left over RC tours. There are soooo many activities it is overwhelming…but some choose to drink all day, it’s not the only option… scavenger hunt, trivia, karaoke, crafts, mini put, sports activities, rock climbing, flowrider, pools and PerfectDay has many “free” options. Negative people attract like minded negative people, it’s a scientific anomally 😂

Wait a second right here mister!!!!!!!!!!!!! You mean there is many things that cost money on a trip that you're already paying thousands of dollars on? Imagine if they charged just to breath air.

If the mats are $25 a piece how much was it to rent day bed WITH mats included ?

I appreciate a more critical review. All you ever hear is how amazing it is. There are some things that make me a little skeptical to try, such as marketing a window as an “infinite balcony.” I may just book a Freedom class ship instead of an Icon. The Icon undoubtedly has better slides and pools, but from what I’ve seen Freedom has tons of appeal for a fraction of the cost.

The ship should be called Icon of Disease.

I just hear nothing but complaints. If you can’t afford things don’t bash it. You could go to the pools ice skate trivia spa laser tag slides. Look at your cruise compass. Sounds like you need to sail on princess with all the other old heads

So you didn't bring your own floating mat to Coco Cay and are mad that they were going to charge you a rental fee to use theirs? Weird.... There's also no charge to use the freshwater pool at Coco Cay like you've said. I've been to Coco Cay 7 times and have never spent a dime extra. You also admit that you knew that you're a big guy and wouldn't make the waterslide weight limit that you clearly saw before walking up the stairs, but you're mad at them for not bending the rules that are there to ensure you don't get injured or break the slide? You should try the Entitlement of the Seas next time instead of Icon.

So much to do that is included and you are focusing on the things you have to pay extra for. It’s a business. We went to Hideaway at Coco Cay and I bought 1 cocktail and my wife wanted a souvenir cup. Outside of that everything was included.

😅 I think you need to change your attitude. How can one complain about CocoCay? You can have soooo much fun there without spending a dollar. Do not get your mat - you can swim without it or jump in the waves. You can WALK around the ship on the sea day and have fun enjoying the beautiful views. I just do not get how one can be so upset being on the best ship in the whole world.

Very interesting and informative video. Seems like they rely heavily on biggest ship in the world but not a lot to do and lots of add ons. Have you been on a Disney cruise? Really like the videos you do. Been to vegas twice so enjoy watching videos of you going to there. Greetings from uk.

I agree with everyone when saying I think you should stay of royal’s cruises. First you are not able to try different cuisines and restaurants which is one of the largest factors of the whole ship. Second the ship has the largest water park at sea and when you aren’t able to try it out, it’ll of course seem boring without it. So if you can’t eat or go in water slides bc of medical reasons why complain it seems that most of your issues are objective to only you and not 99% of other passengers 😭

2:50 - It's not rude to walk up some stairs regardless if someone is trying to get some random photo or not. The stairs are there to enjoy and to use - photos are secondary.

I always said that if you are not happy on a cruise ship you have to be one unhappy human being. I love cruising. I have been on ships with RC, Carnaval and MSC and I could say that I had a blast on all of them. I am booked on Icon of the Seas 14-21 Sept 2024 and I am counting the days. I booked my Tour of the Ship for $250.00 for me and my wife 4 months ago. You can't book that when you are on the ship. It is the smallest excursion. It allows only 30 people on two different timings, 09:00 and 09:30 am.

Did you see your compass on your TV? There's soo muuch to do. I wish, I had more time to do other activities. The juggling show was also good and funny! Try it next time! We just got off this Saturday and we have great time. First RC cruise. We have done 5 Disney cruise and I don't think we're going back to Disney anymore😂❤ family of 6. With kids 18 to 11 y.o.
