We're so glad it was helpful! Our trip was amazing! This ship is really next-level and surprisingly never felt crowded for being the "biggest" in the world. The entertainment, the food, the venues all around, and the crew were fantastic! Those destination elevators... 😍 We wish we had booked a back-to-back on Icon because we just didn't get to experience everything in one week. The room challenges are first-world problems, right? We know how very lucky we are to be able to travel as often as we do. We just wanted to share our experience with it so others will hopefully have a better experience overall. 🙂
This was great. Thank you for your review. We are booked in this room on the Icon and the Star. The storage is upsetting, thank you for the suggestions. Hopefully the Sky amenities will outweigh the room situation. I was very surprised that the bathroom didn’t have a tub, most of the other suites do and this one is geared towards families.
Thanks for watching! We found we didn't end up spending much time in the room because there was so much to see and do around the ship. Between that and the suite amenities (and the shower is pretty amazing even without the tub...), you'll hopefully enjoy your stay. We're booked on Star for 2026, but in a suite guarantee so we're not sure what we'll end up with for a cabin. We hope you have a fabulous trip! 😊
Hello, how was your suite. We booked a Surfside family suite for March of 2025. Our granddaughter is going with us and is 14 years old. Do you think she will fit on the couch bed? Thank you for all your videos they were awesome!
Thank you for watching! Depending on how tall she is, she should be OK sleeping there on her own. Our son is 13 and 5'6". He was comfortable sleeping solo in that space for the week.
We would have put the over the door shoe organizer over one of the bathroom doors or the closet door (items facing out towards the room). Most come with the clips to place over the door. We hope you have a wonderful trip. Icon is amazing and the suite sundeck area was really nice! 😊
We had a surfside family suite also and were very disappointed. The storage is horrible- not good closet. The 1/2 bathroom toilet side 11705 was terrible- toilet paper holder too far back. Not comfortable legroom. No space for a towel- kept falling off of hooks- no storage Tiny sink. The 1/2 room for children is tiny. If your guest is tall, forget it. The space between the foot of the bed and balcony is tiny. Never again. Not a true suite.
It was a good concept, just not very well executed in our opinion. The Surfside "suite" is smaller than a junior suite that doesn't have any Sky class perks, but we would have rather had the cabin space and ocean-facing balcony. We're sorry you had a similar experience. 😕
We agree! For a cabin designed for families, it doesn't seem to take into account the needs a family would have. We didn't know what to expect before we boarded and wanted to share our experience so others could be better prepared. I think with magnetic hooks and an over the door shoe organizer, you could utilize the space better than we were able to, but the storage was an issue for us.
