Im using these controllers with ableton...the G2 master unit works great but the extension is just mirroring the master unit.....i basically have 16 faders linked to the same 8 channels no end of google searching is bringing up anything.....any ideas?
I don't use Ableton so I can't direct you specifically but when you assign the protocols there is a specific one for the main controller and one for the extender. So you add the Mackie control but then assign it to QCon Pro EX. In some setups you have to identify the "extender". If you haven't done something like that then the extender will just copy the main controller. Hope that guides you in the right direction!!
I’m a bit torn.. why are u the only guy on RU-vid with videos and reviews of this DIGITAL DAW MIXER QCON ICON PRO G2 ??? WHY aren’t there more vids this thing was released more than 2 years ago and i can find multiple RU-vid vids for the PRESONOS FADERPORT 8 & FADERPORT 16 units but only like few vids on this device and I’m almost about to change my mind too get this system instead of the FADERPORT 16 but not fully sold yet... just saying

That's a really good question. I have no idea. There are a number of modes to enter background functions on the unit but none that seem to give you that option. I will be in touch with Icon soon and I will ask them.
You would have to check with UA support. If they provide Mackie Protocol or HUI support it should but I'm not sure if LUNA would be natively supported. And I don't believe there are any overlays for it.
Hello. I have a pro g 2 and 2 extenders with the new firmware but when i choose logic pro mode the only one that displays info is the pro G 2 the extenders just say Logic pro mode. why is that? I use Logic pro 10
Sometimes simply turning the unit off and on again will fix that issue. If that doesn't work, best to open a ticket with Icon direct. They've always been very helpful. With the extender attached the whole unit is seen as one big controller not as a separate unit. So you can't split it up and assign it that way as far as I know...
Thank you. As for Davinci I can't say for sure. You need to see if it supports the Mackie Protocol. If it does, then it could work for you. Depends how much Davinci supports the controller protocol. Not the other way round...
Thanks for the great vids. We have 1 main and 2 extenders and the qcon hub for 4 units. Run Live10 on OSX 10.14.6. Everytime we use folder tracks and Add or delete anything fron a folder group the qcons order of faders gets fucked up and we have to restart Live and the 3 Qcon Pro units. And of we move a track out of a folder it scrambles the fader order. What are we doing wrong here? Happens in PT Ultimate aswell with any vwrsion like 2019.5 2020.3 and 2020.5 so this is a qcon issue when using folder tracks and use a folder snd add or remove a track. It moved whats on the faders and all og a sudden I am controlling another track i.e lead synths volume even though it still named i.e Guitar lead. So the track order doesn’t follow the fader order on the 3 qcons when using track folders (folder tracks) Big Thank You for any assistance as this makes working with these units no.bueno as we have to restart everything everytime we need to edit inside a track folder.
Wow. I have to say I have never experienced anything like that in Logic. I wish I could give you a simple answer. I highly recommend you open a ticket with Icon. They can be very helpful. There is also a a Qcon Pro users group on facebook. Hi, Thank you. I've tried the extender on it's own and it does function independently. Just keep in mind there are no function keys or transport controls. So there is no way to change modes or functions via the controller. In a live setting if you are mixing through some kind of DAW and the EX G2 is controlling the DAW in theory it should work. I would recommend testing it first....If you do, let me know!
As far as I know you can't split the controllers. Whether a track or a bus, it's just a number to the DAW and that information is sent to the controller. And to be honest, that would be a waste of faders. You can whip around really quickly between banks of tracks. And since the busses are on the end, you just click the bank 8 button a couple of times and you are right there. Better use of having the extra faders. I understand you are thinking of setting it up like a traditional console but it's a controller, not a mixer and you'll get way more use out of it as such....
In theory, any midi function is mappable. While I haven't mapped that myself I wouldn't think of this like a keyboard controller, though it's possible this can be done. I can't say for sure. I haven't used the JL Cooper stuff but they are WAY more expensive...
It’s 2 pieces both from Ikea. The elevated part is actually a kitchen island. I then got a matching table top and bought 4 matching metal legs. Pretty heavy duty :-)
When the unit is first powered up you have a few seconds to cycle through the different modes with the illuminated buttons in the top right corner of the unit. There are 4 different modes. If you miss it, just power down and then up to try again...
I recently purchased qcon g2 with 2 extenders for reason only to have the difficulty of connecting the second extender and icons tech crew are not very helpful in resolving this expensive flaw any help out there before I ask for a refund

@@LonelyRocker thanks for your comment reason only gives the option to use a combo setting to link 2 units for only 16 tracks across the board and the second extender cannot be connected I've initially tried connecting them individually but that doesn't work
Hmm. I'm sorry you are having issues. I wish I could help you. Maybe scale back to one extender until you can get some clarity from Icon. I would continue to push them. I've only had good experiences so sorry this is not going smoothly for you...
that daw plastic laywer is really cheap not to say disgusting compared to the rest of the build. u d have to glue it to the board for it not to roll up i guess. on the upper models they screwed into the board. the only y i wont get it.
Yeah, that overlay is a bit frustrating. I wish it was more rigid. I think they may be experimenting with new materials. The Pro X has the optional rigid ones but it also comes with the overlays...But really, the build quality is great so this is just a minor issue that doesn't affect performance...
