Chief John Nnia Nwodo is a national treasure. I wish the younger generation of the Igbos can listen to a knowledgeable once in a lifetime leader instead of being very emotional.
The disrespect of the youths against our elders seems to sterm from the youth's conception that the elders are cowered by other groups in Nigeria to openly criticize & disown their youths. This cannot happen with other ethnic groups hence the igbo youths are not happy with their elders. The elders should get up, do something to EARN their youth's respect. It must be earned.
Ndigbo nwane ekenem unu. Most of Ipob members have been blinded by hate and ignorance. You dont win a war with hate, emotions or boasting. You should learn to listen to others as well and resist from calling anyone that does not agree with you a traitor or unmentionable insults. We have to understand that Biafra cannot be achieved in the Ipob manner. If you cannot listen to what an educated elder like Nwodo is saying at least listen to his bit description of war on 36 -38 mins. Everyone saying Biafra or death, I am sorry but dont fight on my behalf. We miscalculated before declaring the 1st time, and we have not fully recover from it and you are threatening another. Igbo focus for now should be forging unity among itself 1st, then forging economic, political unity among the SS, SW, MB. If we can do that then our aims can be achieved even as NE and NW will naturally concur.

I want to remind chief Nwodo that should Biafra nation come into existence it will become the 16th ECOWAS nation thus you don't need a visa to travel to Arewa or Oduduwa and other ECOWAS countries, and ECOWAS and other international treaties guarantees protection of properties of member nations. I'm confident that the Ikweres of Rivers state, the owners of Port- Harcourt will vote to be in Biafra should there be a referendeum, thus this landlocked issue will be taken care of. Large chunk of Rivers and Delta states are Igbo. A referendum is the best way to settle things peacefully.
Ohaneze Ndigbo has meant nothing to average Igbo people other than accepting the status-quo. You invested largely in your enemy territories refusing to develop your own community ignoring all the huge killings of your youths. Mazi you know it that the Hausa/Fulani government have never stopped killing the Southerners at any slightest reason. You also know that the Federal government of Nigeria doesn’t respect Rule of Law. Why will you continue to wish Biafra is not the only solution? Is it because Ohaneze fears their investment in the North and Yorubaland will be lost? Can we know the truth? Or is it that your own children are secured in foreign countries?
