Purchased: August 2022 - still works GREAT! ru-vid.comUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn I live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment.I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
@@Helmuesi911 So some liberal areas of the country are banning balloons because they are made with plastic. There are ways to get around these laws, that have not been thought through, by using plastic zip lock bags, or plastic elastic gloves, etc.
Thank you for this! Think I’ll pickup for a camping trip. Need something to sleep with when it’s 90 degrees in my tent! And it’s great it can hook up to a car you can charge the battery
Good review. Thanks for the honesty. You actually talked me out of buying one with this review. It seems like a well made product but there is a limit to the efficiency of this design. For $350 I can buy a small window AC unit from Lowes ($150) and pay the remaining $200 towards a 2000 watt mini generator, which $200 would be 1/2 the price of that. I need something for cooling my roof top tent and I believe I can get better efficiency and not have to make daily / twice daily ice runs. Plus I would have the additional benefit of having a generator for whatever I needed for a couple hundred dollars more.
The purpose of this cooler is to have "portable" AC. Are you really going to carry a window AC unit plus a 2000 watt generator to your next football game or beach event?
@@ladyblackhorse9104 No, this is for my overlanding camper trailer so I will be transporting it to a campsite with power hookups readily available instead of driving into town daily to replenish the ice that this unit will consume. If I go out in the wilderness then I would use the generator.
Defeats the purpose because not everybody wants to spend hundreds of dollars in AC bills that's what this is about it's about saving money on your electricity and this is what this product will do very willing to buy it because you still have many five-star reviews on it honest reviews from other people here on RU-vid so for me this is perfect for me so I don't have to run up my AC bill and my electricity
@@shawbrothersgirl2740 Plus you don't have to buy ice you can buy those 15 dollar blocks they sell where you fill it up with water and freeze it and they are reusable.
I’m a UPS man, please let me know how it goes. I’m thinking of putting one in my truck because it gets up to 115 here where I live and much hotter in the back of my truck.
I got it! If really helps but the ice melts really quick. So I just, set it up to blow air in my face. You just need a little water, to keep the air blowing. It has really helped me, since I do have a all mounted route.
@@patgonzalez6886 fill up and freeze a bunch of 2 liter bottles and put them in the cooler. That might last a little longer, and it's a lot less messy.
So with this can you just run it off the battery pack you have instead of buying their battery packs? I plan on use of that cigarette lighter with my own battery as I’m going to be making an 18650 cell battery pack.
get a couple square buckets and fill them with water and put them in your freezer to freeze them then just dump the block of ice into the cooler when needed ;) they have many different sizes of square buckets, im sure you could find the perfect size or even use a round bucket that fits.
Nice review. Need to cool my van/truck while sleeping, and considering this. Seems this product works great if you are either outside, or if you have ample supply of block ice, or if only using for a day. Otherwise, maybe a standard small AC and power unit might be better value if you are remaining inside a vehicle/room.
Love this review! I want to plan some summer trips with my cat (who is also black). I like the warranty. I’m betting on to have that good of a warranty it’s well made and reliable.
Are you kidding me, just look at the design of How It's Made, you can make it yourself, I made mine, and a little bit cheaper than what they're selling.
Real nice review. Thank you. Not sure if it woud work for me. In central Arizona, I just use ac in bedroom, 100 sq ft, but my refrig isn't big enough to make ice!
I ordered the platinum version couple weeks ago. Talk about a life saver. Yeah, you can make 1 yourself but I can make 10 times the money I paid in the time it would take me to build it. People spend $400-$600 + on Yeti coolers and they DON’T DO THIS. When it’s 100 degrees outside in Louisiana it’s really nice to cozy up to some cool air. That’s the real purpose of this thing. I don’t believe it was ever intended to replace an air conditioner but it comes damn close when you’re outside or at the beach. If it fits your budget give it a whirl. I’m glad I did for sure.
Yes. I received the 12V cable with mine. Plug it into cigarette port and run it. Got a battery with mine also but that will only run it for a few hours. Just make sure you have enough water at the bottom and as much ice as possible inside. It blows hard enough to move your hair when it’s on high. I enjoy mine. That’s all that matters to me. Took me 60 years to learn that lesson. If it makes you happy ROLL WITH IT.

I see this advertised for golf. Have you or will you show how that would work? Advertising says you load the cooler with your drinks and then ice. Says one battery will last more than 18 holes. Hard to believe one battery would last 4 & 1/2 to 5 hours. Do I have to be a single rider? Not sure how the little lady will like the idea of not being the air conditioned cart? Would the basket on the back support the weight of this bouncing on it for 18 holes?
What's the female end on the control board? DC? I'm wondering if I can just plug that into a portable usb power bank with a DC to USB cable, instead of buying their battery
Warriors! Shields Up! Here I am watching the video and notice fellow Cornerstone kids! We were there with regular fans. It's too hot in Texas in the summer, especially now, to not have some sort of cooling outdoors.
I saw a video where a pilot used a black one in a old 6 seater airplane. I think if you use ceramic coating on it when you buy it. The cooler will stay new looking for 10 years. What do you think about the handle and wheels ? Will they last?
You could probably do your own solid ice by freezing gallon jugs of water and packing it full as much as possible, and then add the water in the bottom and then cover that in whatever bagged ice you can to prevent gaps. Might last longer.
Plus the company sells plastic "ice blocks" that you can fill with water and freeze. They say they work better than water bottle jugs and are definitely flatter to fit into the freezer easier.
TeSheen hey i by the a/c power cord because i'll be using the icy breeze mostly inside my shop working on cars. Don't rule out the a/c cord there is always something for its use depending on how and where your going to use the icybreeze.
This is why I am so glad I have an education in engineering. Always remember that energy cannot me created or destroyed. This product looks brilliant to me but that’s just because I know how energy works. I was already aware that cooling the hot air around you comes at the expense of the ice in the cooler. So you obviously need to load it up with as much solid ice as possible, but also, that you are done when all the ice is melted and the water is at ambient temperature. Longevity is directly proportional to the weight of the water you freeze. Also, think of it this way - turning this thing on is actually worse than leaving your cooler WIDE OPEN. How long does your ice last if your cooler is wide open? Now cut that in half. That’s all the time you have with this. Lastly, ice can be expensive. You may not realize this, but putting a bunch of gallons of water in your freezer can be expensive. But maybe this is worth it. Hope that helped.

Using a couple wires with alligator clips, any large battery could probably make the fan in this unit work. The battery doesn't need to be an exact size fit or voltage match. I run the headlight of my minibike with an 18 volt drill battery using wires and alligator clips. I've got a set of motorcycle batteries that were supposed to run my electric scooter...same thing...just attach wires and alligator clips and it runs other things besides the scooter.
Debating getting one BUT does this unit produce humid air like swamp Coolers do? My problem is I live where it’s already super humid so it would defeat the purpose if it does.
I would just plug it into the cigarette lighter and sometimes using a battery pack..... Because there's a pump, does it draw twice or more power than other ones that has a fan only? Would 2 gallon ice bottles work without ice cubes? Would having a wet rag next to the air intake, prolong the ice?
I made a homemade version of this (without the evaporator) from a 5 gallon pail to blow in the sleeping area of our pop-up camper. I think this would even more effective for the same use. BUT, for the same money, one could buy a 5000 BTU window unit and run an air hose into the camper and not have to make ice.
I was looking at them. The battery life looks good, but 1 lasts twice as long as the ice. WTF? The website says NO dry ice, makes sense. I wonder if salt would help by lowering the freezing temp.
I also live in Texas my beat up 05 Hyundai a/c been out would u recommend this as a “ car a/c” I only use car for work traffic here is terrible your thoughts
When I use my 12 volt chord to run my cooler it uses twice the electricity out of my battery that the standard wall plug uses. It only takes 7 Watts on a standard house plug versus 25 watts using the 12-volt plug!!!!!
Ok here’s a question, how would it work with regular ice or water on the bottom with dry ice separated ontop? I need to have ice for at least 4 days as I won’t be anywhere close to any ice.
Ok this comment is for ones who 1) dont mind spending money and 2) want a device that blows cold air! NOT cool a room… NOT replace an A/C system… NOT cool down a family of 10 on a 120 degree day! This device blows cold air on you PERIOD… Thats it! If that is what you want, an air conduit directed on you that cools you down, that is what this is… Nothing more nothing less… If it cools a small area then you have very welcoming circumstances for that to happen… Yes if you only use small chunks of ice your ice will melt super fast… Thats science! If you use big solid blocks of ice it lasts longer… If you use ice packs with ice blocks topped off with ice then WHOA! Even longer… If you want something different that will accomplish more then get something different that accomplishes more! For the price you can definitely get a black and decker ac unit that will cool a small room… Again that is not what this is for… Would it be nice if it was cheaper?? Well DUH! So would gas, eggs and car insurance… Oh and it is loud…
I live in Tampa and my kids play sports. This seems like a decent investment because I've been cooked watching their games many times. Also their game room gets hot when running two PlayStations at the same time. Do you think this will help when the PlayStations are running?
What if you use dry ice to preserve the ice and also without the battery it has to stay plugged in or what? Cause I know you have to buy the battery also
where does it suck the air from it looks like it pulls straight from the cooler but that would create a vacuum and not pull much air to my understanding 🤔 thanks
How far do you feel the cool air? I was considering purchasing this product to put in a softball dugout and was wondering if someone on the opposite end would feel the cool air?
They claim ice last up to 7 day without using the fan have you test their claim I just recently bought the platinum edition don’t know if I have a defected one but ice only last about 4 hr in 70degree weather it might have to do with the lid not having a seal
The 12 volt cigarette lighter cord is on low 1.3 amp medium 2.1 and high is about 3.1 amps. On their site of course but once I get mine I can throw my meter on to see. Also for the battery slot you mentioned I would 3D print a cover and make it flat. I make my own ice blocks so I’m hoping that lasts longer than ice cubes.
I am no engineer but I have to ask. Since dry ice lasts so much longer why can't you just put a block of dry ice in there and add the water it requires. Would this not last longer? TIA.
I wish this review ALSO went over how much it cooled or didn’t cool a particular area. This review shows the device and how it works, in good detail, but will it cool a bedroom with the door shut? A small apartment?
No it will not. You will need it close to your face to cool you off. Just go buy a 5000 btu window unit for your bedroom. In fact you can but 2 window units for what this puppy cost.
This provides a stream of cold air until the ice inside melts. Pointed at you, I'm sure if feels great. But the ice is not going to last very long obviously.
The smaller the space the better it works. Yes, it can cool rooms down some but what you want is it blowing directly on you...That is how it works the best from what we found.
@@charlesruffing5606 thanks for the review. I forgot to say thank you in my other comment. Best reviews comes from the people that own them. I am not a owner of one and I am only speculating how it would work.
I want to get your opinion if I invest in the Platinum version or the V2 and of course go with your recommendations to avoid the cons do you think it would be a great investment for a small traveling trailer that is a size of 17 ft? Because I'm looking for something to help keep the trailer cool the entire hot Texas heat day also this is a trailer I am going to be living in
This jackass didn’t answer your question. Too busy smacking is lips like all through the video I guess. I will help answer your question. Absolutely it will not cool your small travel trailer here in Texas in the summertime. My advice to you is put a small window air conditioner in. A 5000 or 6000 btu will absolutely cool your camper. This icy breeze at best may cool your face if you are very close to it. Besides who wants to be buying ice and dealing with draining the water everyday.
It depends how big the cab is. Our 4 runner has a big cab so it struggled but we put the hose blowing directly on us and that worked better at keeping us cool..If you are going to have it in the back seat I would suggest getting the golf cart extra hoses that can put the air directly on you.
