Short video showing how to program the Icom ID-880H DSTAR mobile with Icom's cloning software. Software: www.icom.co.jp/... Repeater Lists: dstarinfo.com/
Thanks you very much!!! I had spent hours trying to get the D-Star part programmed into the ID-880H. I do appreciate the free software from Icom, but it did not have good instructions. I followed you as you showed how to program it, and I now have my transceiver programmed for my local VHF and UHF D-Star repeaters. Again, thanks again and 73, Ray AK4RL
Thanks for sharing ! Pretty easy to use software. Having the repeaters indexed by callsign really makes it easy. I remember the bad old days of writing DOS RSS templates for trunking radios.
I'm not sure how the radio's memories set after a hard reset [factory default]? What I do before any entering anything on a new radio is to import from radio save as a separate default master file - then work from a different file. This is handy to return to factory settings for us that forget what we changed.
Hello, Commsprepper. WB4UR, here. Name here is Sean. I am using RT Systems Software and the orange cable for my ID-880H. Is the software that you are using for D-STAR better than RT Systems, or is it up to the owner of the radio which software they choose to use? 73s de WB4UR Good video.
I have Icom and RT software for this radio. They both work well but some folks seem to RT's stuff easier to use. In the end I think it comes down to preference. Both are capable.
Not sure. Here are the steps I use (I just updated my ID-5100 this morning). Format SD card in radio with format feature in radio. Unmount SD card with the radio's unmount command. Download new file from dstarinfo and copy that file onto SD card, placing the file in the repeater list folder. Put SD card back in radio and import list.
