No matter how many great final boss themes this series has given us since Awakening, the raw nostalgia poured into this epic track will never fade! "Wretched son of Naga, you will be DESTROYED!" "I've come to end you, Grima!" "Arrogant mortal! I AM the end!"
As much as I adore Three Houses and think it's the best game in the series objectively there's something about Awakening that i find really...special. It came out around the time I was in college and was beginning to have a falling out from a big depression. It filled a void I was desperate to fill and gave me a sense of hope to cling on to. I think for that I'll always hold this game just a little bit higher than the other FE's out of appreciation for it.
There's always going to be something about our first Fire Emblem games that makes them feel unique. Three Houses may be the best overall, but Awakening is forever special for those of us who played it first.
@@finaldusk1821 lol what's funny is it wasn't my first though. My introduction was the Gameboy Advanced era titles. (7. 8, and an English translated cart of 6.)
I completely agree. It’s one of the few games that really has a magical feel to it. Like something about the music, characters, and gameplay that come together to make that magical feeling. I first played the demo like 3 years ago because I was curious about the series since I liked playing Lucina in Smash 4 on the 3DS. I pretty much instantly fell in love with the game and replayed the demo a bunch of times before finally getting the game. It’s easily one of my most favorite games of all time.
I think part of it is that it was supposed to be the ultimate homage to FE. The last game of the series, the finale, the send off. What IS never expected was the impact of the game. Regardless, that last hoorah feeling is absolutely magical. It's every part of FE that people really liked and it shows to this day.
I got hyped when I saw this in my recommended. This was my first Fire Emblem game, and is still my personal favorite. From the fun and endearing characters to the story. I remember when I first fought Grima and how stressed out I was. Great remix!
I just started a new playthrough of this game... what timing! Awakening's soundtrack is very different from the Fire Emblem games that came before it, and some people didn't like that change, but personally? I love it. It's still got a Fire Emblem feel to it (if that makes any sense), so I really can't complain about the change in style. Also, this is a good cover of a song that I feel is really hard to remix properly - I like the brass parts!
Okay I'm not a huge commenter, but I just started listening to your tracks a couple days ago and absolutely fell in love. I listen to them while I'm doing anything from reading to writing to drawing or doing homework. I was just listening on Autoplay when this one came on -- I didn't even realize you had remixed this track -- AND I WAS ECSTATIC. Purpose is one of my favorite (if not my favorite) video game tracks of all time. I just love how each of the Id songs reflect Robin's journey: rebuilding himself from scratch and struggling through trial after trial, culminating in Id ~ Purpose, where he proves that no matter your circumstances, nothing (and no one) is beyond hope. He finally found his family (he states so in the Latin lyrics, I believe), and now he realizes his purpose is to protect them with his life. I know everyone makes fun of Awakening's disjointed story, but I'm such a sucker for it all the same. Sorry for that extremely nerdy rant -- long story short: ngl man, this track has me teary-eyed and I'm not even a very emotional person. Keep it up!
This sounds really good, I love how it’s a lot like the original but with your own twist on it. This was my first Fire Emblem game I ever played, so it’s nice to see it get some attention.
Podrá ser que Edge of Dawn o Lost in Thoughts sean más populares, pero ID (Purpose) sin duda es mi favorita, se nota que fue creada para cerrar con broche de oro una franquicia que se creía destinada a la bancarrota Simplemente épica
Man this one is just great in every regard, major props man. On another note, this video sent me down the rabbit hole of Awakening music and I finally decided to try the demo for once. The game should be arriving in a few days and I am absolutely hyped for it.
I honestly hope that they make a remaster or a port the game to be played on the Switch, this is the game that saved the franchise, and they should at least honor it by allowing people of the after wii and DS era(I miss the DS… it was so fun…). Just imagine what it would look like with the three houses graphics, but I hope there would be an option to have the old map graphics, those graphics were literally the best and never got tired seeing them, I liked the new graphics for three houses but I’d like to see the new graphics for nostalgia reasons. It’s the 10th anniversary for the game and they should have at least teased us that it could happen…
If there is one thing that truly terrified me as a younger teenager, it was New Game + on Lunatic+ Classic. Grima... With 99 HP.... Dear lord, i felt like I was the one who needed to pick a god to pray to... Naga save me. O-o
as a filthy FE casual who's first lunatic experience was awakening that also terrified me to no end... Jesus Christ when I saw Grima's hp I straight up started crying into a pillow bro that was horrifying ;-;
Hey so if you put "instrumental mix cover" instead of just "remix" way less people are gonna find your videos because i never even heard of that until i found your channel, as i like other people just search "remix". That's probably why youre so underrated. So if you put "remix" for remixes and "original song" for original songs i think you'll get more views. Okay imma leave now lol
I haven't played them all. But between the ones I know: Three Houses, Genealogy of the Holy War, Echoes Shadows of Valentia, Shadow Dragon & Awakening are my favorite ones. In that order I guess.
I've played from Shadow Dragon (DS) to Three Houses, currently playing the original from the NES and I love them all! But if I have to choose it would be Three Houses.
@@Vetrom question. How much more captivating does the story get once the time skip happens? So far the story and characters have not been impressing me.
@@cable391 MUCH more captivating. At that point every character and their motivations & personalities are fully established, and it simply comes out in full bloom once the timeskip happens and you see how everyone has matured and developed compared to before the timeskip.
