The man who was arrested Friday in connection with the killing of four University of Idaho students was very "talkative" and "friendly," according to his neighbor at an apartment building in Pullman, Washington. The suspect, Bryan Kohberger, is a Ph.D. student at Washington State University, about 10 miles from Moscow, Idaho.

Also, I bet they are trying to stay ahead of any attempts by the suspect to argue insanity. It helps if people can act as witnesses to his character because it will help the police to solidify through evidence that he did this with intent and not because he had some kind of psychotic break

I was attending Syracuse University and living off campus in Clarendon Heights complex when a female grad student was murdered by a maintenance staff member. I was traumatized for a long time after that constantly looking over my shoulder and not trusting anyone and always thinking the worst. I’m sure his neighbors will be feeling that for a long time if not a lifetime.

@@turnitup8034 Being drunk and asleep made these easy victims. 10 to 12 puncture wounds with a large knife not only kill a person in minutes but the first brutal stab wounds are enough to put people in immediate shock. Only in movies can a regular person get stabbed several times and still have strength to fight back or run. I think he was a lucky amateur... but I may be wrong. The real issue is he must have cased the house at some time to find the golden unlocked door and get around the place. Hopefully he will be recognized in someone's smart-phone photos as a prior visitor to the house. It's circumstantial evidence but still helpful to the prosecution.

@Turn It Up yeah, but we don't even know (because it hasn't been disclosed by investigators yet) any of the evidence yet. Next to nothing has been released about how they came up with him as a suspect. There's going to be a lot more to come out about this as the court case unfolds, so I'm thinking we just have to wait and see... Excellent work by investigators - I never saw one comment about this man who is in custody. I am more and more intrigued as this case unfolds.

The most important question is where he was at the time of the crime. Neither the ADN nor his car that was at the crime scene, nor even his confession to it, does not mean at all that he is the culprit... If it is confirmed that he was away from the crime scene with evidence and evidence, then the crime is intertwined and requires deep and vigilant research. A doctor in criminology commits a stupid crime while leaving traces and the car... something unimaginable. Unless he is a blind psychopath

People from his high school said in his senior year he lost his friends for being overly aggressive after losing a bunch of weight. Before that he had been more normal the previous years. Also, a guy from the university said he said something offensive so people stayed away a bit from him also.

I just read today that he made derogatory, offensive comments about LGBTQ, while he was in school. I believe this began in high school, but not positive on that. Also read from past friends in online reports that he didn't properly pick up on normal social cues and would hit on girls that had zero interest in him, and didn't even know him. Other reports from past peers (and current ones at WSU) have said similar things, with the main theme being, he is awkward, highly intelligent, and creepy. In high school he was also allegedly bullied-- by girls!

His nose appears to have been broken multiple times. Very “friendly” guy. I don’t think girls bullied him, I think they told him to get lost after he aggressively hit on them. He’s so smart, but couldn’t figure out how to socialize normally. I will never understand how someone can be “so smart”, but can’t hold a simple conversation. I’m pretty smart and I’m not the best communicator, but I’m not awkward and haven’t pissed off people to the point they break my nose.

I agree! Why does everyone thinks he looks normal? He looks like he's on hardcore drugs, and has been for 10-15 years. He also has a terribly crooked nose, distorted looking face, and advanced aging. He was an overweight kid/teen, and now he looks really thin and unhealthy in the face. No 28yo looks that old without drug use, so it's not shocking to hear past friends say he struggled with a heroin addiction, but we'll see soon if this is confirmed for sure.

The chief of police and the DA both stated that details were not being released because of state law. Once he is in custody in Idaho they will release more. Here they state they are not released to protect the jury pool. Completely unfounded. Poor journalism.

I'm in law enforcement, but I'm not involved in this case in any way. So I can talk freely about the case. I would really like to know what the motive was behind such a brutal mass killing. I'm sure that the family and friends of the victims would also like to know the motive too. A motive can provide some sense of closure to the family and friends of the victims from a seemingly senseless act. This is just pure speculation on my part. I would guess that only one of the girls was the intended target here. She probably spurned his romantic advances. So he killed her as a result. Then I would surmise that the other three victims were simply at the wrong place at the wrong time.
