I think it would be good to just wait and put the house back under police until everything is resolved. I would imagine the jury in this case may want to see the crime scene areas of the house to gain a better understanding of what may have occurred the night of the murders. Also, personal items wouldn’t necessarily be a negative reminder for the families. Items could simply represent how well their children had been doing and provide a positive memory for them. It allows them to stay connected in some small way.

That is the last thing I would worry about. The trial hasn’t even began. What if this guy walks. That would be my number one concern right now.

I can’t imagine relatives wanting items from the house, it would be a constant reminder.

Nothing should have been moved until all pictures and defense had a chance to get their view of exactly how it was. State will only get what they need to show their case not things that may contradict it

Is it true that DM and BF were allowed to take belongings from the house and also were allowed to keep their cars when all the others were impounded?

I wonder the same. I actually thought Dec 7th removal may only have been DM and BF's items, but according to this I guess not.

It is very possible that some items will not be given to the families. Anything really with blood on it is a biohazard. That stuff does not have to be returned.
