It's not matoro, although it is the same mask. This is Ide, the protagonist/audience stand in of the Ide's Journey Albums.

You mean the Audio books, or voiced comics? Personally I haven't done anything on those, but it's possible Matanui606 has.

This is an original story yes! It piggybacks off the end of G1's ending, continuing it. The main story began in the album "Ide’s Journey: Act 1" released last year. This is a short film I made in collaboration with the Le-koro Band to work as an interlude between Acts 1 and 2. The albums can be found on all major streaming services here: linktr.ee/lekoroband

All of the software used is in the description. But for the models specifically, I designed them in Stud.io then ported them into Blender. And replaced some of the parts with better models that I had from the Team Kanohi Parts Pack. In the case of Vican I had to borrow some models from Lehvak Nuva, as not all of Vican's pieces were in Stud.io or any of the parts packs.

Same mask (something I'm glad to see, the Organic masks don't receive enough love imo), but they kept referring to them as "Ide" (I-duh?). Though it does beg the question as to if the mask has any particular relation to the mentioned prophesy. I see in the description that this animation is based on a series of albums, but this is my first time seeing this so I don't know what it could be.

@@xendordawnburst9969 The mask is actually the Non-Organic Kanohi Iden. Ide is a blind De-matoran, and the protagonist of the Ide's Journey albums, with everything being heard from his perspective. Except of course for this animation, as this is mostly seen through the eyes of Vican.

Thanks for your comment, @APinchofBazel! I like your long form Bionicle work, especially the music playlists/videos. It sounds as though you like our story enough to engage with it at least (and to catch the Terry Pratchett inspirations!), which I'll take as a complement. It also sounds like you already had a notion of how you think this story should've been told and produced, or at least a better idea of how to flesh out elements of The Hunter's own introspection and outsider perspective that we didn't get to. I'm sorry the language used didn't sit well with you, and I'm not sure what you mean by "modern tinge," but maybe you'd be interested in joining the team, and can share more of what you had in mind to strengthen the story we're trying to tell? Maybe you'd even be interested in writing a short story from The Hunter's perspective set sometime before the events of Ide's Journey, delving into the philosophical veins you want to see in Bionicle? In any case, thanks for sharing, and I hope to talk more later! 😊

@@marcusarose Shoot, only just now seeing this. fwiw, I appreciate the swings you guys are taking here, across the board. A pseudo-rock opera audiodrama musical hybrid is a really creative idea, thrust into a post-2010 era that connects to the unfinished serials without pandering as a direct continuation, and is more willing to engage with old Bionicle ideas thematically than a lot of fanfics out there. So for whatever qualms I have with the writing, y’all are trying for something really unique here. I appreciate the work, and I appreciate the appreciation for mine. And if you guys want to talk more about this stuff I’m all for it.

@@marcusarose Necro-ing this thread with a vengeance. Was otherwise occupied during the holidays, but put a little time into the idea for the last few weeks now. At this point, despite working to be compliant with Ide’s Journey, it’s standalone enough that I’ll probably give it its own release after some time in the revision oven. Maybe kick off a CBW page or something. A good fallback if it turns out you don’t particularly care about this anymore. But anyway, I think it’s my best way of showing what I meant about exploring these philosophies on the setting’s terms, as well as playing into the unique perspectives trying to parse them. In this case, a newly made manufactured being that skipped the Matoran Universe shenanigans, and would therefore probably have a much more detached and clinical view of the Three Virtues as an outsider looking in. Not to mention his view of the world overall. Obviously some of the stuff this story touches on wouldn’t be a factor by the time Ide’s Journey is set, but still, I’d like to think it still plays up the importance of character perspective overall, and how that should factor into thoughts and dialogue. Also keep in mind, I’m not tossing this out as a “Everyone should write exactly like me” kinda thing. Least of all the prose style. God no. Just that it hits on some important concepts I personally think more stories should hit on when they try to explore these ideas.
