I'm just saying, if Brodin ever stops doing all the directing and producing for OTV, him and Toast should go into business together and create a production company or something.
Brodin offers such a different perspective than the streamers/performers while still being witty and fun to listen to. This was very entertaining to watch! Love this episode
@@ianblizzard5195 Wtf is 'Phobia' of zombies. Who is NOT afraid of Zombies? That's like saying "Oh I have a phobia of guns, I don't like them pointed at me".
@@bunndumm most people aren't afraid of zombies because they aren't real. She has said on stream before that she doesn't like talking about zombies or playing zombie games because she has a phobia of zombies. Pretty straightforward
As a Filipino working for a western company as a developer, I am satisfied with what I am earning even if it is waaaaay below US Minimum wage. It is because the cost living here in the PH is cheap. My cousin who live and grew in the USA is earning way bigger than me but she still cannot afford a house while I already purchased several properties in the Philippines. Additionally, it does help our country's economy. Although, some employers treat us cheap laborers as someone inferior. I had a friend who got shouted by his boss saying "You're just a cheap labor!" Also, when I got the lead role, I was supervising employees in TO Canada. I am training them and equipping them as their supervisor. But, their salary is basically x5 of what I am earning. So yeah... There are ups and downs working as an outsource employee. I guess what I am trying to say is... "Offline TV, please hire me." 😂😂😂
Michael would die first cuz davinki would wander off and Lily would have to chase after Davinki leading Michael over there too. And knowing Michael, he would sacrifice himself for Lily.
At 44:30, if anyone is interested the short film Yvonne and Toast talk about is called "If anything happens, I love you". Would definitely recommend, it's really emotional though so prepare some tissues !
The outsourcing discussion is interesting. Ireland used to be a destination for outsourcing animation, particularly in the 80s and 90s. The original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles show was partially produced in Ireland. Nowadays Ireland's animation industry mostly makes original projects, with many shows and movies winning awards and even reguarly getting Oscar nominations.
What about other circles for a change since a podcast should be introducing us to new people and their story ? Names like Myth, Willneff, Timmy, etc... Otv have connections to them and I'm sure they'll be ok with a podcast.
For someone who's working in an outsource company here in PH, we're actually grateful since more jobs are available and the wage actually is not that bad.
"Don't think about the horse. Don't be the guy who tries to come up with a faster horse." The way toast delivered that line and the message. I feel so enlightened, wow.
i love hearing the background voices at like 40:30, it reminds me that this is a conversation being had in a house full of people and it makes things feel very cozy, like a convo in a semi-crowded restaurant or at a holiday get-together
I'm 5 min into the podcast and I'm all the way here for the Toast-Brodin interaction cuz it's getting more bizarre the way you expect it out of Brodin.
Brodin is truly one of the greatest minds! he has different takes and perspectives on different topics, had so many great experiences and is super funny and likeable. I would love more episodes with Brodin in fron of the camera. and I'm so happy he's such a big part of your production team + a friend to you guys. I really enjoyed the Scarra, PeterParkTV and Brodin "Podcast" they did.
i know no ones gonna see this, but toasts metaphore was actually very moving. Although his analogy was a simple horse comparison, it really just made me realize that Im donig everything wrong with my current passion, im doing what everyone else is and trying to perfect something thats already been mastered. i guess what im trynna say is thanks toast, i really needed that.
idea for toast, start forming opinions on fashion. i'd love to see him explore his creativity through clothing. the burberry sweater looks really cool on his body frame
I literally got a notification saying Pokimane has been banned from twitch for watching Avatar the last airbender on stream while watching them talk about watching anime on stream
I love Brodin' vice so much... Like, I like Lud and others, but Brodin's calm and intelligent ways of talking and the contents of hs words are really fun and soothing to watch and think about.
I think the last one to die is either Jodi or Lily, because I feel in zombie apocalypse, your spirit is the most important thing. So I can see Jodi as the one that won't give up/the last one to give up. The same can be said for Lily just because Michael is still there, although Lily probably will give up soon after Michael is gone.
It’s good to see Brodin on an actual video not behind the camera. Sometimes you see him in videos or on a livestream for a few seconds. But to see him on a video talk show just with him and toast makes it much better. I feel like brodin doesn’t get many views or people really don’t know who he is because he’s always behind the camera and the tallest out of all the OTV members. Makes it better to hear his story makes you think “wow he’s lucky to be an OTV member”
I think a Brodin cam would be epic for when he talks and he’s behind the camera when other people are on the podcast, he always adds in something cool every now and then and i think it would be cool to have a camera for him when he does talk
the idea of hiring japan animators is quite smart, i think if its rlly possible it would improve overall animators work life bcs the expectation will be higher -also i feel like a lot of people would accept it, especially if theyre passionate for animating, theyd love to just be able to do animating without the whole pressure brodins super fun as a guest, i hope hed come by again ♡
It's interesting hearing them talk about studios and costs of production in Asia. Thing is, it's true that it's cheaper. What they don't cover is the fact that Asian companies, the primary market for these studios, don't pay nearly in the same league as the US, hence the lower pay across the board. Something that really isn't obvious to entrepreneurs who have only ever done business in the US or Asia is that the US is 10 times easier for 10 times the money especially if you're just starting out.
In regards to the ip, I’m positive that these big companies know about it and it’s more than likely that they’re slowly trying to build a clear-cut case against Amazon and it’s more than likely that the resolution is going to be unless Amazon wants to take on Disney in the courts which would make no sense so they’re probably not gonna do that. the most likely result is going to be they’re going to end up implementing an algorithmic system similar to RU-vid
Just for the context here, this is my living cost in Thailand , Bangkok Rent : 400-500 $ per month [ 1 bedroom room in high rise condo 1,000 ft from subway in inner circle of Bangkok] Food : 1$ for breakfast , 2-3$ per meal for lunch and dinner , 1-2$ for a cup of milk tea or coffee [Starbuck is considered to be luxury here, with a price of 4-5$ but they offer comfortable seat] Utilities : Electricity 30-70$ , Water 2-4$ , 30$ for internet and phone service, 10$ for drinking water (all per month) Transport : 0.5-3$ per time by subway
I think the survival scenarios vary heavily on what the OTV political structure would be, like would it be like Minecraft where Toast is a dictator, would Michael be an anarchist with a vow to protect Lily. In the end, I think that would determine who delegates the duties, like the supply runs, and "cannibalism structure" in theory you could set a line up, and feed the members in order, which would determine who would starve first.
Hina as a Vtuber would be really Pog. I can see a lot of potential with her and if they get someone that can sing they can make covers and original songs and stuff which Lily and her connections can help with
Stopping to think about it, in the zombie apocalypse scenario if the offlinetv house was secure they would just be way too op of a group to struggle in almost any resource problem tbh, Mykul alone is a beast and most people at offlinetv have some background specialty that could be uselful.
The episode I wanted ! The BIG B HIMSELF ! Brodin is the best thing to happen to OfflineTv content since… Michael came in as a guest from time to time then as a member 🥰🙏🏾
The outsourcing topic is very interesting and very timely. I actually work in a third world country as an editor but all my clients are Americans, Germans, Irish, etc. Basically I don't accept clients locally, because the pay is shit. As a freelancer tho, it's really about knowing your worth and if you're lucky enough to have enough clients to turn away people that pay low. So if you feel like you're worth this much, then that's the rate you give. I've actually been told by one Canadian that my rate is "too high", like that's how much he'd pay for a Canadian editor. But fortunately I'm in a comfortable enough place and have amassed a good number of good-paying clients to confidently tell the guy that I stand by my rate, if he can't pay that then he's free to look for someone else. He ended up still hiring me though. But way way back when I started, I had to take $5 an hour projects before I got to have the repertoire to ask bigger rates and fixed rates.
