6N/7D is very comfortable time. But due to adverse weather keep a day or so for buffer incase plans alter due to weather conditions

Hey I’m so proud of you. This is great news. I don’t when you’re planning to do so but I host group trips for women who plan to travel solo but not alone to such countries. I’m taking a group of women to Kazakhstan september 29. Let me know if you’d be interested. Also a small suggestion. I didn’t start solo travel too long ago but for my first trip I definitely picked something easier where people at least spoke English. Kazakh barely speaks a word of it. It’s a bit challenging unless you have a guide 24/7. It’s a bit hard to manage if you’re alone. Let me know if you need any advice.

Hey Akash, thanks for those kind words. October is an excellent time to visit Almaty. Everything is just breathtaking. But there absolutely zero chances of seeing snow anywhere at that time. Guides don’t charge per day. They charge based on tours you opt for. Hotels don’t provide anything. How many people are you? I can customize something for you since I run tours in Central Asia now. Hi Ashish you can plan your visit any time but you need to understand Dec Jan and Feb there is a chance that roads will be blocked due to heavy snowfall and all lakes are frozen.

Thanks a lot dear. If you want to move at your own pace, I organize private tours for Kazakh. You need to book these in advance due to high season and low availability. Kazakh is still getting used to the huge influx of Indian tourists.

Unfortunately there are only guesthouses in the villages to stay. They’re dorm type shared spaces with shared bathroom. That area isn’t as developed

The cold is terrible in Kazakhstan but have fun anyway. You’re going for a lot of days but you’ll have lot of time to relax.

Hello 1- it’s a terrible time to visit unless you’re planning to specifically go skiing 2- extremely cold. Snowing. Streets could be slippery and the roads to all the national parks are most likely blocked and all the lakes are frozen and impossible to reach 3- you can visit Charyn, hopefully 🤞 but definitely can’t reach Kolsay. Plus it is frozen. 4- it’s not worth taking the trouble of visit any lakes right now. I suggest if you absolutely have to go then just stay in Almaty. Do shymbylak, kok tobe etc. and visit Oi-Qaragai and do one day trip to Charyn and back. That’s it. If you need my assistance with guiding or planning or transportation etc. I organize private tours in Central Asia, mostly Kazakhstan. So you can get in touch with me on Instagram @justgowithamreen

All the hikes are pretty easy. But you need moderate fitness level. It’s uphill downhill etc. not steep. April is spring. You need to carry jackets for the evenings and full sleeve tshirts for the afternoons.

This can largely vary from restaurant to restaurant and what you eat. Decent hotels generally start from $100 per night including breakfast.

Depends where you wanna go? If you wanna remain in Almaty city then download yandex go app and you can call for a taxi within the city. If you wanna venture in the Almaty region then you need transportation private or shared.

Pack everything. You won’t get snow but in the mountains it could get pretty cold. In the city pleasant to warm. So basically pack everything. You’re likely to see all 4 seasons.

It’s extremely cold but not too harsh. It depends what you’ve endured before. If you’ve experienced -5 to -7 degrees before then you can bear the cold. It probably goes down to -12.

That’s a trick question. You’ll find less people only in shoulder months like November end and March beginning but they’re extremely cold as well. Not as cold as dec Jan and feb though. But even in the hottest months you’ll find people there. Kazakh is a cold country generally. So the shoulder months will be less cold but still minus 10 degrees. That’s “warm” according to the weather they have generally.

3 year old can go to Almaty but not in December. It’s way too cold. The winters are miserable there. Too extreme. Try early November.

My parents are your age and I sent them to Almaty as well they had a great time. Ofcourse they had limitations and could do the canyons and lakes due to stairs but they covered as many things as possible in and around Almaty.

It won’t be totally worthless but you’re taking a chance. There might be places you won’t be able to see. Couple of lakes might already be frozen. Etc.

Hey Rounak the biggest cost will be the flights form india to Almaty. They cost inr 50-60k per person. Alternatively if you came to abu dubai and flew via Wizz air it might cost you slightly less.
