I think that Jaejoong has a fear of showing himself, in entirety to another person. I also think it may be hard for him to imagine a relationship that is not long distance in some form due to the nature of his work. He’s constantly back and forth between Japan and Korea, so a “normal” household would likely not be possible. I think he’s retrofitted his ideal to fit his lifestyle, personal insecurities, and romanticism. There’s definitely some avoidance there. I think the avoidance and fear could be resulted by his past. As far as I know his personal life is quite messy. His own birth mother abandoned him and chose to build another family instead of taking care of him. He was given to his adoptive family and only know about him being adopted during his dbsk era. His birth mother suddenly came forward and try to claim him as her son just because he is already famous at that time. His birth mother even went as far as trying to use his fame to help debut his half sister. When he left dbsk and got embroiled in the suing mess with SM ent, she suddenly quieted down and vanished just like that. From what I can see, the betrayal of his own birth mother and his adoptive family not telling him the truth about him being adopted are what causing his current trust issues. He has been searching for someone who can understand him and I think he is still looking for that person until this day. I actually had an opprtunity to meet him backstage yesterday. While he is very charming as an idol, I can't help but noticed the loneliness and yearning for love in his eyes.
