Love the message of this vid. Creating a smart home isn't about laziness (well, maybe it is a little). It's about freeing up more of your time so you can spend it doing the stuff you enjoy and spending time with the important people in your life.

@@technithusiast the humidity sensor I have the curtain rod 2 and 3. I am battling the 3 for in my garden room as the distance is about 3.4 meters and the curtains are heavy, think they are getting stuck somewhere on the pole as they keep just stopping. I do like the switch bot stuff it just feels well made. Nice they are sponsoring you, you sold it well haha.

I am slowly getting into home automation and looking for various products. What do you use to tie everything together in such a clean dashboard?

It depends. For example, if you use an iPhone and you want something low-stress and no-fuss, you can use apple home as your dashboard to control and see you devices. However the drawback is that not every smart device is compatible with apple home. If you want complete and total control over how your dashboards look, have access to a wider variety of smart devices, and create complex/creative automations you can use Home Assistant. The drawback is that it has a much higher learning curve and you will have to set it up and maintain it. Hope this helps!
