Aw! Glad I could help. Anatomy is super fast paced and I remember being very overwhelmed myself. I recorded all my lectures which was extremely helpful. I probably listened to each lecture two or three times but stopped the recording frequently to read what the book had to say about the topic. If you need a good anatomy book, I highly recommend Human Anatomy and physiology by Elaine Marieb. You can get the ninth edition on Amazon for 10ish dollars (in the US, at least). It's got a red cover with a volleyball player. Ive worked with students from a bunch of different colleges and it seems to work just fine even if it's not the assigned textbook. I could write an entire novel on all the advice I give to students...if you give me a specific thing you are having trouble with...or just describe to me what you are doing to study now and how you feel it's going for you, I will give you my best advice. I keep meaning to make videos with different study tips/academic skills but I haven't done many. As far as books go, I recommend Marieb's Human Anatomy and Physiology. It is considered a connective tissue because alll connective tissue comes from an embryonic tissue called mesenchyme... Including blood... And also connective tissue always has a cellular component living inside a non-living component (the matrix). So in bone, the osteocytes, osteoblasts and osteoclasts are the living cellular component, and the collagen fibers and osteoid (jelly like substance) and mineral salts (That calcify the bone and make it hard) are the matrix. The blood follows this pattern because it has living cells (red blood cells and white blood cells) and the non-living matrix (The fluid part of your blood, called plasma that the cells are mixed into)

The best advice I can give you is don't try to memorize it, try to understand it..relate the appearance to what it does, and relate what it does to the location. Just remember, structure reflects function. A shovel is shaped like a shovel to scoop things. Dense regular connective tissue has fibers running in one direction because it resists tension in one direction... So it's located in tendons which connect muscle to bone (and only get pulled on in one direction) Dense irregular has fibers in many directions so it can resist tension in many directions, which is why you find it in the dermis (a lower layer of your skin) because as you move the skin is getting tugged in many directions... I recommend looking at pictures while learning the function and location so your memory is tied to the pictures. If you look in my histology playlist I have a video explaining the functions/locations for the tissues...but I can't stress enough how important it is to get a good anatomy book and start getting comfortable reading it. Students that don't read their textbook only ever have a surface level knowledge and end up very confused the further they go in A&P (lecture and videos is like having someone explain a TV show to you, it doesn't matter how great they are at it...youlI start getting confused by season 3 if you havent been watching the show) I recommend getting whatever book is in your curriculum and also Mariebs human anatomy and physiology as a cross reference because it is the most easy to read/accessible book for students in my experience. The 9th edition can be found inexpensively on Amazon (usually about 10 dollars, and there's a video with instructions in my shorts for how to find cheap copies)

Elastic cartilage and elastic connective tissue are two different things, but both have elastic fibers. The elastic connective tissue does not have lacunae and chondrocytes like elastic cartilage does. Elastic cartilage would be found in the earlobe and epiglottis whereas elastic connective tissue would be found in elastic arteries such as the aorta. Sometimes certain schools will leave certain tissues out of their curriculum, So if your professor taught you that elastic fibers are only seen in elastic cartilage, then perhaps he or she isn't teaching you about elastic connective tissue. Ohhh, I could definitely see that! (especially since you weren't expecting epithelium 😁)

In reticular the borders you are seeing are non-living reticular fibers and will stain black/purple whereas number six is actually simple squamous, so the borders are living epithelial cells...and so it will have a lighter pink color with nuclei scattered throughout. Also with reticular you often also see red blood cells (Little Red globes) scattered amongst the reticular fibers (Although I'm sure there are examples out there where that's not true) This video is comparing simple squamous to adipose, but it shows simple squamous at multiple magnifications side by side. I think just looking at the structure/learning the names can be a little bit boring...but also keep in mind when you're learning a&p (assuming thats the class you're in) that they first teach you the anatomy because the structure of something is important for it's function (the physiology)...so in every chapter you have to get through some boring memorization in the beginning to understand the more interesting stuff later. It's like you're learning about the characters and settings so you can understand stories! And this particular cast of characters will be relevant for the entirety of A&P because every organ is made up of at least two different tissue types, so tissue types will come up in every chapter!
