Identity | Girls Gone Bible 

I placed my identity in academics and grades which took me to a master's degree and a graduate certification, but all of the achievements do not measure to the love of what God gives.

Yesterday my mom went to be with the Lord, I held her as she literally took her last breath in this world. As my mom's caregiver for the past three years my identity I felt was just that. I have fulfilled my obligation to both my parents now taking care of them and seeing them pass from this world to graduate to Heaven. This was the hardest thing I ever had to do taking care of my mom. I suddenly felt kind of lost now about what to do with my life. Today's study now reminds me that yes, my identity is in Jesus! Thank you, Lord for being my helper, my rock, my strength, my provider, Mom, I love you so much I'm already missing you, yet I rejoice. Knowing you are no longer in pain and bound by this world. Thank you, Lord, for giving me Christian parents who were loving and laid down the foundation of my identity in you. ❤🙏

My father told me I was stupid and my mom treated me like I was. I wanted to go to school for nursing and my father told me I was too stupid to do the math and science. It took me till I was 30 to know I was never stupid. It crippled me for awhile and because I believed it I would act stupid.

Y’all it’s 6 in the morning. Praying is so important in the morning and then I see this as well 🔥God bless you and God bless those that are here as well watching. 🙏 May we continue to get into the word and continue to walk the path that Jesus Christ gave us to our Heavenly Father ❤️ Praise God for all that he does!!! I had identity issues too...I went from being a Girl Scout as a little girl...then a stripper as an adult...and now I live in Christ! I cringe too when I hear cuss words!❤❤❤❤

Telling your children they’re “stupid” thing can really go both ways. I was always told “you’re so smart why don’t you ___” and I developed a wild superiority complex rivaling diagnosable narcissism. It has been really difficult to differentiate reality from my upbringing as I’ve gotten older.

I’m going to try fasting. I was really struggling this week because I really wanted to hear God but I didn’t know what to do.

God knew I needed this Podcast. I felt so lonely on my walk with Jesus. Listening to this Podcast every time you post helps me learn and keep me focused. Thank you GG for talking about real issues that EVERYONE faces. Thank you Jesus!!!

I feel you lady's, Im fasting for 3 days I completed my fast of 3 days a few hours ago. Im going to eat breakfast at La Plaza here in Amarillo Tx after mass. Earlier this evening I made Sheperds Pie its for work this upcoming week. My bedroom smelt like lasagna and pizza but its Shepherds Pie. I didnt eat anything these past 3 days Im excited to eat tomorrow. A few things fasting has helped me with is getting closer to God, get better at self-discipline, and bet better at self-control.

18:40 literally the fruits of the spirit. The fruits of the spirit should be EVIDENT in OUR lives !❤

I was literally just looking up “what is my identity in Christ” yesterday and you guys delivered today. Hello!

I recently started my walk with the lord & I found this podcast shortly after… and I just need to comment and say how amazing this podcast truly is. For young women. In this one and the podcast about telling younger selves, I truly truly relate. I wish so deeply I could have found the word when I was young.

Wow! I found you both on RU-vid a day ago and I have been listening non - stop for 2 days now. The funny part is that I never listen to Podcasts. I saw how beautiful and put together you both were in your 1st Podcast and I listened thinking I was not going to learn anything. I seriously misjudged you both. You are truly anointed to do what you are doing. Please believe me. I am someone who listens to many audiobooks and sermons from different preachers such as Joel Osteen, Joyce Meyer, and Bishop Prince. I am always listening to something related to God, self help, and Spirituality. Please know I have been blown away with how beautifully you are both using your gifts to share the Gospel. If anyone ever makes you feel like you are not equipped or you don’t have the theology background to do what you are doing please ignore them. They are 100% wrong about you. Don’t let them or anyone intimidate you. Please know they are being used by the enemy to tear down the beautiful work you are doing for God. I can tell you as someone who is a Deacons wife , who teaches others in the church, and who has spent over 30 years studying the word and listening to different preachers. You ladies have what it takes and more. You are reaching a generation that needs to hear God’s word from you. The best part about your Podcast is that it really does feel like you are sitting down as 2 friends who are sharing deep and intimate things that you would not share with anyone but your best friends. You are so vulnerable and so authentic. You are seriously a breath of fresh air. Your joy, passion, and how you are sharing the word is beautiful. Keep doing what you are doing. Don’t compare yourselves to anyone. I have learned so much from you and I have been inspired by your stories and amazing courage to put yourselves out there. Just keep being you and don’t let the enemy take away this beautiful ministry you have started. You are doing God’s work and you cannot fail when you are using God’s word. It is your sword of protection. God is greater than the enemy. The enemy is a flea in comparison to God. God has already defeated him. The enemy knows he is running out of time. His roar is louder than his size and you can squash that flea with the word. Protect yourselves by pleading the blood of Christ on yourself and everything around you. You are 2 warriors for God and I am incredibly proud of you. I will be sharing your Podcast with my 21 year old daughter and many others. When Angela began to cry here 48:20 I immediately started to tear up myself, I know exactly what you mean by putting your identity in others and trying desperately to hold on to someone. I’ve been there. BUT here’s some encouragement… that’s how it’s SUPPOSED to be. We all suffer in this way together because we love people! The Bible says : “Your love for one another will prove to the world that you are my disciples.”” ‭‭John‬ ‭13‬:‭35‬ ‭NLT‬‬ And also “We love each other because he loved us first.” ‭‭1 John‬ ‭4‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬ “This is my commandment: Love each other in the same way I have loved you.” ‭‭John‬ ‭15‬:‭12‬ ‭NLT‬‬ Jesus literally suffered and died for us. So the pain we have from loving others on this earth is normal for the Child of God 💪🏽❤️!

this was my first time watching you guys and this was spot on , im dealing with putting my identity and my outward appearance, i want so bad to be recognized for how i look that i lack sm on the inside , i pray that i see nothing but God and my identity in Christ , and that knowing i’m just a child and i’m beautiful the way i am. I ask that my mindset may be renewed and i not think about my outward sm but my inside , the spiritual , everything dealing with God , in Jesus Name I Pray , Amen.

Wow I loved this so much. I truly appreciate this... I have so much negative stuff spoken over me by parents, teachers, childhood friends, that I wouldn't even know where to start... Thank you for reminding me that I'm none of those things. I even forget that I need to work on destroying those strongholds, even though I know it's the devil! When ari’s elastic broke I was like “KEEP GOING!” 😂 that was such a good point young girls need to hear if a boy treats them badly to not look at it as a reflection of their worth. It is so so dangerous and can effect literally everything.

Ang, one beautiful thing about you is that you recognize when your sin is separating you from God and you then come running back to Jesus. Most people do not have that kind of honesty with themselves and their sin, myself included. Keep living for Jesus and keep your identity in Him and He will keep doing great things for you! As a fourtneen year old girl I used to struggle with my identity by shaping myself to fit into beauty standards that I wasn't meant for. As a black girl racism is hard in this society but I always lend my faith in God just like Psalms 31:24 says. "Be of good courage and he will strengthen your heart..." Thank you

The part about sometimes getting caught up in loving people so much and not wanting to give up. That rings true to myself as well. Jesus has definitely had to help me with that. Because truthfully you do always wanna give a person the benefit of the doubt. It can be a very beautiful attribute but harmful as well. Hi guys! I’m so happy to see you two fasting. I recommended to you two the fasting on IG when I was doing one! I believe God has a big call on this fasting for you two. My first fasting I did 7 days without eating (only one bread with eggs and water in the morning). He has a purpose for each day of your fasting because you see your faith growing on him and the answers he gives you are mind-bowing at this time. In the first fasting experience each moment you feel hungry you go straight to the Word because you need to discover your faith to keep going. It’s amazing. Kisses!!!
