Dear Detectives! Trapped in a life of judgment, unblinded by conspiracies. Just a drop and justice will prevail! But who is to judge what her stained hands did? Check out Clerk’s background video! Coming to the manor soon!
Looking at it I don’t think she killed him. But rather is directly controlling him? It seems like she’s almost puppeteering him, with her quote of “obedience” and “sacrifice”. Perhaps that is a fate crueler than death.
@@kchandayco2372 she was poisoning him and nursing him back to health at the same time. Yes she was manipulating him but she also was killing him at the same time
@@sequoiaz Thank you! That makes a lot of sense. It’s really interesting to have a character that is both self-aware while still having a seemingly iron-clad conviction on their view of justice, you don’t see that often with characters like her since there usually too stubborn or arrogant even. It’s actually kinda refreshing, In the Chinese version you can hear her heavy breathing at the final scene which adds to the detail of the papers suddenly being scattered, like she had just slammed her fist or pushed them of the table in rage. Then trying to collect and reassure herself. She’s acting as a clerk and recounting her life and actions trying to judge them, someone who had decided and committed something immoral in the pursuit of justice in a corrupt system, who is that person to be in charge of judging others. That’s what I imagine is her thought process. Gah I’m so excited for when she comes out! She’d be terrifying to see in game chase after you. Will she bonk survivors with her cane?
@@DendengBalado34 fun fact: The first recorded use of the phrase “it’s not over till the fat lady sings” is believed to be from Ralph Carpenter in the newspaper Dallas Morning News, March 1976. To give context for the following quote, a basketball game was being played and the score was tied.
It wasn't distorted, it was actually just overlapping the voice of her younger self with the voice of her older self (indicating that they're the same person)
interesting thing to point out: in the english version she says her iconic line "it ain't over till the fat lady sings" but in the chinese version the final line is actually "only i can wipe out all the injustice"
@@user-nq9ir7jp2z Oh it's a proverb? Either of those languages aren't my first, I didn't knew. I mean that could've been it, although even without context it makes sense
she's not above vigilantism (since she chose to punish her corrupt brother for his crimes her own way) but she is against the lies and the corrupt ways of the elites + the consequent injustices the less fortunate had to suffer and that doesn't really make her pure evil imo, I think she's more like a misunderstood tragic character.
Clerk has one of the best backstory in Identity V, about the equality that didn't and still doesn't exists between women and men, what society expects women to be and do and justice that never exists.
Since she's talking to her younger self, and her younger self has button eyes, this may rumour that she attended Oletus Manor in exchange for what she's pursuing. Like Joker, his Hunter is physically older, but how they become hunters or how they were assumed as hunters as seen during the Time for Union arc is still a mystery.
Her past version doesn’t actually have button eyes. Its hard to tell because of her glasses. But if you look closely. Especially at 0.30. She ACTUALLY has real eyes! It’s really interesting!
She risked her cute, attractive face to get rejected by the man who was at by her parents to marry her just so she could climb her way up to Justice and to do what she wants while "taking care" of her brother and "taking" his place . DAMN SHE'S GIRLBOSS I LOVE HER ALREADY!
How can you consider this hunter "bad"? His brother was paid by the rich to guarantee them judicial protection and the poor people who could not defend themselves paid the consequences !! This scene breaks my heart 0:43- 0:50. Obviously poisoning someone is terrible especially if the person in question is a family member but here sacrifice for the good ... queen I respect it !!
To be fair, most hunters arent even inherently """evil""" in nature. Most of them were wronged/seek revenge or some shit, with the exception of a few of them like Ripper, the 2 demigods, etch. But anyways, Clerk is a girlboss and I rest my case 😌
oof I didn't even really think about what happened in this scene 0:42, but her brother was really a corrupt piece of shhh, WOW! I understand her motives even better now, thanks for pointing out who her brother was.
gotta remember that: 1.) in the story it's revealed that people are getting drugged, so it's likely that their common sense gets warped during matches 2.) lmfao have you seen most of the survivors' backstories? a hunter who will not let any form of injustice get away is something they should fear
Her methods of justice is distorted but she is right though, I'd vote for her on election any day. I trust her judgement more than anyone at this point.
So if my understanding is right, she poison her own brother cause he is corrputed by taking moneys from those who bribe him, making many people who lost the case agains corrupted people that are the true criminal, so his sister had to take matter into her own hands in order to give justice to people that really needed, by poisoning her brother drinks, so shes not evil and thinks shes doing what is right and what really is justice means right ?
@@indubitablydead7834 your welcome, it took me a while to think since her lore and offical picture was update by Exilo , and with this story i can finally day that it was right
Well yes and no, because we also learned from posts by the social media accounts that basically the power went to her head, and she was determined to keep her brother teter-tottering on the edge of life and death so that she could continue to take his place as judge, since if he were to die they would just find a new judge and not actually make her the new official one, but only because she was a woman and the time period it’s based on women weren’t seen as capable of holding such positions permanently.
She is the one who interviewed every players that came to the manor. She seems to know Nightmare and associates with him for a long time because the poison she used on her brother has similar label to those drugs we found during Time of Reunion event. Maybe she's one of his helpers like Bruke and Bane.
It might be implied that she is one the hunters that are still alive like Mad Eyes and Guard 47 since she was the one who interviewed the Ripper while he was still alive.
A thing I love about IDV is how most of the hunters are victims in some way, or have understandable-if twisted-motives, while most of the survivors are arguably villainous, if not selfish, greedy, etc--with exceptions, like Robbie for the hunters and Memory or Helena for the survivors.
I LOVE HER, She’s so unique and her story is very interesting. Can’t wait to see her gameplay, so far she’s giving me big Tim Burton vibes which I love!
I just love the entire vibe of this backstory video, and Keigan's voice is soothing af to hear despite how distorted it can get, ugh another win win for the girlbosses
is it just me or does her kid version look a lot like minds eye? helena also has a costume named "clerk"🤔 maybe they're going to make her helenas hunter identity in the future
@@dns.63 I know, it was just a theory and I believe the identity v devs are creative enough to come up with a story that would explain how the clerk and minds eye are connected or the same if they wanted to. comic books for example like to play with the idea of alternate timelines and parallel dimensions, to name one possible explanation that I can think of right now.
bro i hate how twitter keeps shitting on her. come on look at her she’s so interesting and clever (judging by the fact she takes advantage of her brother’s poor health that she kinda caused to give herself power, thats kinda a girlboss move). I still wonder how hunters become hunters, especially when most dont even have evil backstories and only tragic ones, but the Clerk has a somewhat evil story and i wonder how she became hunter as well
If I understand correctly, she disagreed with her brother's corrupt ways, so she poisoned him and took control of him to preserve justice! But, I'm still wondering how she got this look, the difference from before to the current one is very drastic.
I think there was a post on twitter that she was supposed to be married to a man but she didn't want to lose her freedom so she ate a lot of food and the man rejected her so basically allowing her to keep her freedom
The story also tells that when she was young she thought there was equality because she could express herself freely at the dinner table just like her brothers. But as she grew up, when her brothers went to law school, she was asked to be a “lady” and learn to be a good wife. In order to rid herself of an arranged political marriage, she intentionally got fat so that the other side would not choose her. Then she went on to work for her brother and the story goes on as you described. I absolutely love her because she actually took action to fight back when facing misfortune and unfairness while she was still alive, unlike most other female hunters. Also, I love the fact that she is not beautiful, even intentionally made herself ugly, to show that beauty is not the only good quality of a woman.
She altered her appearance on purpose because she hated the man her father arranged her to marry. She purposely chose to be "ugly" so she could have freedom
Ikr! What a queen!!! We don't just need Physical beauty to like a new character especially female hunters! Her dreams, story, voice, personality are lovely
I love IDV's storytelling! The characters talking about their past in a vague way, accompanied by the visuals. I love there way of "Show more, less telling"
Finally!!! Shes an icon to me! He backstory relates to me so much.. N yeah i am a plus size person.. Shes gonna be my main.. So goodbye pretty Mary.. Cant wait for her skills's showcase in the test server.
Her abilities make her have one of the greatest map pressures in the game. She can block off ciphers, exit gates and windows as well with her recordings. She can see through the ciphers and the exit gates which allows her to use her recording abilities from a distance and still be able to move. Her pallet reversal is useful for having an unobstructed chase towards Survs. And the fact that her recordings apply a debuff on Survs is 👌👌👌
So, from what I got from the video, Ms. Keogh was born with a strong sense of justice. Even as a child, she would talk about current cases and trials at dinner and voice her own just opinions about them. However she was the only one in her family that harbors a good (if any) sense of justice. Her father was a corrupt and greedy judge who would deliver a “not guilty” verdict without question nor remorse, should the price be right and one of her brothers was a clerk who can and will forges false records for the proper amount of money. Under the judge’s gold seeking eyes, criminals had been let free while innocent people rot in jail. One day, Ms Keogh decided that enough is enough and poison her brother in order to take his place as clerk. After all, there are times when one must be bad in order to achieve the greater good.
if keigan has million number of fans i am one of them. if keigan has ten fans i am one of them. if keigan has no fans. that means i am no more on the earth. if world against keigan, i am against the world.
What if she was a distant aunt of minds eye since she claimed she has "brothers" could be a reason why minds eye and her look so similar. Could also explain the intellectual inheritance. [This is just a theory]
Clerk has been confirmed to have been murdered at some point, and it is assumed to be the ripper. In her written backstory thingy, it mentions that after she starts to work for her brother she starts to hate everything about herself and changed her appearance. We assume that this must be how she changed from her past self to the pale scary clerk we know now. However, I believe this “change” was actually her running away and turning into Mary Anne Kelly, one of the rippers victims. (Before the change she recorded an interview with Jack the Ripper, thus establishing a connection between her and the serial killer.) We see what Kelly’s body looks like after her murder in the game, and her mouth scar kind of matches the weird exaggerated frown that clerk is seen having. Then she somehow gets revived(we see this countless times in other hunter backstories) and then she poisons her brother(technically she didn’t poison him in a way that immediately killed him. She just gave him a terrible diet so he became frail and then died). Btw, if this theory is true, this would mean that Keigan became a prostitute after running away, but that part isn’t super relevant.
I didn’t like the people who made fun of the possibility of getting a chubby survivor saying things like “how would they go through windows” or “they would run so slow” witch is not true the same thing can be said for being skinny just because your thin doesn’t mean you have speed or strength in fact you would have low stamina and power if you didn’t do a little exercise not to mention frail Sure being chubby douse have it’s down sides because extra weight but with the extra mas you can resist attacks and you can hit way harder than forward. people are born with different bodies you can be born thin or chubby. A person can be born chubby and plays a lot a sports and be super strong Or be born thin and have quick reflex and decode faster There’s many good things Also just because there chubby doesn’t mean the have diabetes 😡👎
honestly out of all of the hunters, i feel like she could be a survivor. her actions arnt bad in a sense.. yes she posioned her bother and assumingly used him as a puppet to take justice into her own hands but at the same time her brother was corrupt and miss used his power
Ok, so Vera and Clerk kill their sister/brother, and Joseph and Phillipe lost their brother/sister... This is pattern where the women in game kills their relatives, and the men at game had their relatives dead xD
SHE'S SOO COOL!!! this trailer gave me chills like ganji's wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! im really excited for ms keogh!!! bit of a shame that idv's storyline comes out in small portions but i still check out on the progress from time to time
