Every Israeli Soldier’s uniform comes with a beret. As the Sar-El program has been technically incorporated into the IDF, the orange beret was assigned. The color orange designates a voluntary and/or humanitarian purpose. It is an international signal/motif. However, due to budgetary costs, the blue caps have instead been standard. In recent times, there where a few years that the orange beret was issued but due to budgetary constraints, the blue cap was reinstated as standard with the IDF uniform. Question about accommodations as I heard they are minimal. Are there outlets in the dorms? I use a CPAP and without it I’m afraid I would snore too much for my roommates.
Hello, yes the Dorms have power outlets. At least all the ones I had been in and seen in others. My bunk-mate had a similar apparatus to help him breath during the night.

It is good that , excep during Covid19 pandemics, a lot of women and men, young and senior, Jewish and not, did join Sar El. It seems that the most of the volunteers are from USA or Canada, fewer arrive from Europe. Perhaps it is because Sar El official language is English and they are afraid not to understand the Madrichot or other volunteers
Hello, It is true that most are from the USA, Canada and Europe and the programs are in English as that is where most of the pro-Israel population is at. And now up to 40% was Christian as of 2019. I do know that there are groups of all ages that have been exclusively in French, Spanish and Finnish. It depends on the year and politics too. There is a lot of support from Latin America as there are Jewish Communities in many countries there. But true that the predominant language is English and the USA gives the most support. This is changing unfortunately due to politics as the world is coming against Israel.
Do they accept people with tatoos or are there special rules? I'm interested but i don't know if i can partecipate. Are there any heght canons like in the army? How does it work?

@@jamesdean2103 Correct, the program is for non-combat type of work. No weapons will be issued. So, the typical type of work would be like preparing medical kits, parachutes, warehouse inventory, but sometimes preparing and cleaning weapons like working with machine guns or Israeli tanks and other vehicles, etc. It depends on the type of base and need.

@@capitalistpig8956 Good question. Yes, the Sal-El Program although part of the IDF, the longest it has lasted is for a few months. To be part of the Regular IDF, I do believe you do have to be an Israeli Citizen. But it could be the case that they have a program for non-Israelis. In this case do look up and ask them. It depends. There are Volunteer Groups in all age-range categories. I would say about 70% of all Volunteers are within the 30-60 year old range. The Program will try to match you with your age group. Hope that helped.

As far I can know, people from Sar El must be citizens of Countries with which Israel has got diplomatic relations - so not Iranians, Saudis, Pakistani and so on- . Brazil has always had good relations with Israel, so it should not be a problem
