In this lesson, we take a look at the following seven idioms which use either the word beauty or a word with a similar meaning: to get one's beauty sleep, a beauty, drop-dead gorgeous, the beauty of something, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, not going to win a beauty contest, and to be decked out.

Can we use it in the context "the beauty of my day (days)", "the beauty of our time"? Won't it sound unnatural?
@mapleleafesl6162
@mapleleafesl6162 2 года назад
Yes, I think that would work. For instance, the beauty of our time is that we have more choice than in the past.

hi. it"s the first time that i see an adjetive in plural???? those are beauties??? why??? cuase gramaticaly adjetives in english spell in singular..... please clear my mind.......
@mapleleafesl6162
@mapleleafesl6162 2 года назад
In this sentence, beauty is a noun, not an adjective. For example, 'she's a beauty' might be used to describe a car. If there were two cars, I might say 'those are a couple of real beauties!'. Hope this is clear.

Implying than a man takes less seriously his appearance than a woman is so sexist and narrow minded… you lost me with that one 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
