@@jamesgizasson And leaving it in there ensures it will react. Though explode isn't exactly the right word, yea it's very likely going to have a melt down but leaving it IN THE OIL will only make everything worse.
@@Mad-Lad-Chad Have you ever been around when a fryer fire starts? That stuff is around 450°F. I'm sure you know why not to pour water on a grease fire. If your phone falls in, you have maybe 30 seconds before the battery goes thermal. Lithium burns violently. Couple that with several gallons of boiling oil, and you have a truly medieval accident waiting to happen. Personally, I'd get back and warn anyone nearby to do the same.
@@jamesgizasson That's fair, personally I'd want to get the phone out before stepping back, obviously this assumes the ability to do it quickly. If I try to get the phone out quickly and can't then I'd do exactly as you said.
She is working near the fryer all day, and probably is the one responsible of it. She probably is frying fries by the kilo every day. She was splashed by the boiling oil more time than she could remember, even if she is only a week old in this kitchen. And she knows very well how stupid hot it is in the kitchen by just standing NEAR that thing. Unless she is in on her first hour ever, she knows very well how hot, hot oil truly is...
