I’m actually astonished at the absolute production quality of this video, all of the camera work is incredible. The editing is fantastic especially when you guys are in the studio with that ghosting affect. The song itself is something I’m going to be addicted to for years to come. Fucking incredible, the team who worked on the video should receive awards. Seriously well fucking done. God of this video were a woman I’d be having fucking heart palpitations just looking at it. Thank you for incredible release, looking forward to the next album.
I was given the wonderful gift of an introduction to the music of Idles, by a caregiver just before she left - my wheelchair has not stopped bouncing since! I don't know what your goals were, when you decided to start a band and give it a go, guys. But your sort of 'aggressive acceptance' and your music have absolutely changed the outlook and life of a person in a wheelchair, in a rural town in Vermont, US; who doesn't leave her house. You reached in here, into this isolation, and reminded me that I'm still alive. Thank you!
I lately listened to this album and one track really caught my attention: It was when the album was over and spotify startet playing "aint no thief" by Viagra Boys. Thats sums up my opinion on this album.
I'm in my 40s. Idles have brought the cheeky melodic sounds of Crass, Flux, Subhumans, Chumbawamba (If you know, you know), and so many others from that era.
What is it about this group of gentlemen seriously not being able to disappoint? Every IDLES release up until now is imperfect perfection and raw joy! This is seriously good music.
Hold the phone Hip to hip Cheek to cheek Push me away like I’m Lucifer So to speak My focus is on The cocoa butter running down your neck And the sweat Feet touch Brush hands Feather’s ache We can swing if you prefer So to speak My breath Moves your hair At a glance In a round Like a pirouette And the sweat I give myself to you As long as you move On the floor Collide us as we work it out Shoulders back Chest out Im poised Like a goddamn ape So to speak I can taste the mood In my mouth Like particles of punch drunk love And the sweat Bold moves Ice rink Lines cut from the moves they make So to speak Somebody tell me where I go Like a goddamn homing dove And the sweat I give myself to you As long as we move On the floor Collide us as we work it out Make waves Cut changes Crop circles in my cage Cut waves Make change Crop circles in my cage I’m a dancer You’re a dancer Let’s dance.
73 years old. Been into music my whole life and seen ALL the big names live. This band easily the best to appear in years. Their Glasto set was brilliant.
I discovered IDLES about a month ago. Haven’t listened to anything else since then. Absolutely brilliant Band with beautiful messages. As soon as they come to Austria again i am there! Best of wishes to everyone out there!
Words can not describe how important your music is for me. I am craving for each and every bit of your art. And this brand new masterpiece again gives me goosebumps and tears of joy! I love your way to spread love, energy and good vibes. Keep doing what you’re doing!
Talbot said in an Idles concert in Mexico: "You are loved, there is someone always that is proud of what have you achieved" i have sticked that in my mind since, and i feel good!!
I love how everyone dancing in this video is just so thoroughly posessed. It's such an amazingly free feeling when a song makes you move without any inhibitions or self-consciousness
"I needed love. So I made it" from the announcement struck me directly in my heart. The Fall Shift is happening in the Midwest, and this song feels like a promise that we will all make it out of the dark and sad months together. Yall make incredible music and I am grateful. See yall on the other side in Feb!!
@@prettyaverage97 Haven't had a proper listen to them ever and now that's the exact message I got from this song and video. Sobbing while writing, powerful stuff for the good of the soul.
Counterpoint, this time of year is just the best. Yes it’s melancholy but it’s in a comfortable sense. It’s not about “making it out” of these months, it’s about enjoying them and appreciating them while they’re still here. No other time of the year quite like this one
IDLES blow my mind. Because they manage to have a very identifiable style YET sounding original with every new thing they release. This song is the shit, well done
Okay, first of all, the album announcement and single is just what I needed this morning. Thank you so much, guys. This song rocks, and I can't wait for the album. ...and secondly, I don't know how the hell I'm going to be able to concentrate at work with Adam's hip-swinging hotness now stuck in my head. This is going to be a struggle.
Aggressive Dancing. Violent movement. Compulsive. Infectious. Dogmatic rhythm. It's like when you're left alone to your own devices and just give into your own personal, primal instincts. I think that's what the Music Video's trying to capture. Each of these dancers is alone, but acting out their own comulsions to move to the beat. And through the lyrics, they're all dancing "cheek to cheek" with one another, though seperated by distance, united like a warband in their expression of love. Love, after all, is the Fing.
Holy shit. So intense and careful, so hard and yet the dancing makes it feel so soft and gentle! Confusing. Beautiful. I love it. Immediately bought tickets to the Copenhagen gig in March, can't wait.
The song is incredible the video is just off the charts well done to the director it showcases such an incredible song as it should be 👏👏🙌 also who knew their drummer could move like that too! 😁❤
this song is fucking art, but not even just the music but the filmmaking too. what an imperfect piece of perfection, you know a songs good when the ring of the chorus replays in your head after listening. well done guys, been a fan since brutalism, tangk you for sharing the passion of music with us x
What an introduction to a band. And I have been going down the rabbit hole ever since, and am thoroughly enjoying every new song I find by IDLES. love the messages you are sending about in every song I've heard, Joe. Love is indeed the fing.
IDLES somehow always outdo themselves! Perfect. You’re one of the few bands that legitimately get me so excited when I see you come out with new material.
i saw them in toronto... excuseme they are a class statement that comes undone carefully..!! wow!! please come back to toronto again!!! amazing night!!!
Hold the phone Hip to hip Cheek to cheek Push me away Like I’m Lucifer So to speak My focus is on The cocoa butter Running down your neck And the sweat Feet touch Brush hands Feather’s ache We can swing if you prefer So to speak My breath Moves your hair At a glance In a round Like a pirouette And the sweat I give myself to you As long as you move On the floor Collide us as we work it out Shoulders back Chest out I'm poised Like an ape So to speak I can taste the mood In my mouth Like particles of punch drunk lovе And the sweat Bold moves Icе rink Lines cut From the moves they make So to speak Somebody tell me where I go Like a goddamn homing dove And the sweat I give myself to you As long as we move On the floor Collide us as we work it out Make waves Cut changes Crop circles in my cage Cut waves Make change Crop circles in my cage I’m a dancer You’re a dancer Let’s dance
This song absolutely rips, had it on repeat for days. I hope the rest of the album is like this too. Side note is this the first time LCD soundsystem has worked with heavy sounds like this? I love it
Addict to this band ! I cant’t believe I discovered this guys recently and now I’m like a child waiting for his christmas present evry day ! Can’t wait ✊🏻
I cannot wait to see this band when they play Vancouver in a proper venue! My 3 year old daughter begs to listen to this song once a day and she dances pretty hard to this beauty! If you peeps are in my area during your stay, then please come for a variety of chocolate milks that I will scour the lower mainland for a true west coast taste testing! LOVE IS DA FING!
2:46 that feeling that all creative people feel of simultaneously being in awe of what you're seeing and loving the band and the directors and all creatives for making something so awesome while also feeling the existential dread that you might not ever make something this cool...
You really can hear the LCD Soundsystem influence in this during that euphoric chorus and that heavy, pensive guitar during the verse is so definitely IDLES' touch, and the effect is this electric mix where you feel like you're sizing the other person up before being pulled in close to fucking boogie It's the Dance Yrself Clean for a new era
IDLES helped me when I was going through depression. An ex-friend told like 8 years ago: " I think you would love this band". I never knew how important music was going to be for me at that time.
Impresionante!!!! Los coros tienen un ritmo infernal, el bajo es de lo mejor, bien interpretado por el cantante de principio a fin, la distorsión que acompaña al bajo en 1:59 es de otra Frecuencia, genial.
I remember being super hyped at the prospect of a new Beastie Boys album and I hadn't had that feeling for any band since MCA passed. Until you guys came along. Thank you for bringing that excitement back into my life. Love you guys.
This is so incredibly insane, but I like it. Like it's not even cheesy because of how determined and convicted he is singing. It makes me feel like I want whatever he is taking.. because "I am Lucifer so to speak."
