I just found out about them a few days ago and I'm fucking in love with the sound and the energy and the whole fucking enchilada. Haven't felt this way about a band since Oasis.
Wow wow wow. This performance is intense and beautiful at the same time 🖤 The dedication and mindfulness they are putting into it are powerful. Plus: the line "Fuck the king. He ain't the king. She's the king" cracks me up EVERY SINGLE TIME 😭 So grateful they are doing what they are doing
I'm 71. I should hate this song. I love this song and I have no idea why. I've probably watched the "Dancer" video twenty times, too. Now, I was a radio DJ in the 70's, so there's that. I want Idles on a double bill with St Vincent.Just something about Joe and the band that pulls me in.
Just Idles, doing Idles things, as usual. I love this tune. The performance is tight as despite the fact they all look like they've dialled it all up to 12. Also great to see Jools doing his best to represent good music irrespective of genre. Jools doing Jools things too..
Just fuckin brilliant. People say the UK has no culture! Yet they consistently bring out some of the best music over the last 70 years, and it is not stopping. Go on you good thing.
On a recent TV show in UK they stated Liverpool has the most number one singles in the world. It's only second to Detroit, but considering the size... It's incredible!
The only people that say that are silly woke progressive kids brought up and brainwashed neomarxist institutions. Young Europeans still flock to England by the hundreds of thousands each year as, while their countries often have beauty and better health and education systems, they’re kinda… boring. British soft power is still utterly immense for a tiny island. It dwarfs the rest of Europe and in many ways even rivals the States.
Saw this live last night here in Denver and holy hell these lads are firing on every single cylinder. Don't walk, run, to get tickets to their live shows.
@@aaronlea-art I think it's the combination of hair, clothes and stage antics. Just need to get him on the violin or flute to complete the transformation.
Actually, going to see them live is the best way to keep them going... Record labels and marketing agencies scrounge up most of the record sales value!
I know I'm probably in the tiny tiny minority here but I have to say: I cannot listen to this song til' the end without tearing up!!! As a father "He ain't the king... SHE'S THE KING!" hits home like a ton of bricks! I love this song and the whole album. More so than previous ones. IDLES are an amazing band!
See-see my-my steed-steed go-go far-far See-see my-my steed-steed go-go far-far See-see my-my steed-steed go-go far-far See my steed go far! ------------------------ Look at him GO - Woah... My baby is beautiful All is love and love is all Fuck the king! He ain't the king, she's the king! I have to admit that this performance was incredibly brilliant - This band are creating musical art - They are really upping their game.
Easily one of the most unique...authentic...dynamic...and provocative bands around these days. In those ways...I would almost compare them to Radiohead...but then again...nothing can compare to Radiohead.
I would say IDLES are far more provocative than Radiohead. They are mostly too inscrutable to provoke. "I put homophobes in coffins" is pretty uncompromising.
I love this song. Joe has such a unique approach to lyrics and being a front man. The “watch watch my my steed steed go go far far” is such an interesting way to say that line 😂
No that won't be the case. Really good band but nothing more. Ive been listening to music for more than fifty years, there's always been bands like Idles around.
@@andrewmoore1136 You're an Edge Lord with that comment. If you can't discern the diff between the music and lyrical content of this band vs a dreck machine like Maroon 5? You make Helen Keller look a master spy.
