This is iDLEWiLD!

This is the Idlewild I fell in love with. Aggressive, thrashy but still melodic punk rock. Captain and Hope is Important are by far by favourites. I was still a fan when they started experimenting and became more ‘thoughtfully noisy’ on 100 Broken windows and The Remote Part but when Bob left and they turned into a slightly dull folk band it was time to say my goodbye’s. They really threw a way a great formula too soon and ended up alienating fans because of it and losing most of the momentum they’d built up. Though you’ve got to do what you want I suppose. You can’t write songs for other people. I’ll always be a fan of the early stuff though.
