This recipe is very close to a dish south indians make called Rava Idli, it just uses sooji and curd...actual idli batter is made by soaking Idli rice (there is a separate variety of rice for making idli batter) and urad dhal separately...there are also ground separately in a wet grinder until they are fluffy and then mixed together and allowed to ferment for a few hours before pouring idlis
Though all of your videos are just awesome, but there are lot of flies around. It does take lot of charm off the video & I am sure people take notice of it. ... Maybe u can do something about it.. A agarbatti around may help.

This is not real idilli of South India actually idilli is made out of boiled rice 4 portion and urad dhall 1 portion some it over night the next day grind it in mixerinto fine paste then kepp it for at least 6 hours for it to ferment then make idilli
