The second commandments states in Exodus 20 "thou shall not make any carved image - any any likeness of things in heaven, on earth and below earth in the water" then after it says not to bow down to them. However, the first part is clear, that we as Christians should have never created a cross to represent Christ who is in heaven. We should have never created a temple on earth to represent the present of G-d because the temple is also a carved image and temples were used by pagans to worship gods in the first century (G-d destroyed the second temple once and for all because we are the temple of G-d now). And last, we should have never used a FISH as the icon for Christianity because that is a carved image from the water below the earth. Christianity has managed to break all 3 commandments, to present G-d and have done so, in the name of G-d. "Constantine the Great" was the one who initiated these practices for Christians during the yrs @335AD and we still use them today while all three are against the very Word of G-d. Constantine created the church temple building because he was a pagan himself and this was his method of Worshipping G-D. He was also the one to have created the hierarchy within the church that went beyond eldership. And he is also the one that created the use of the cross. Catholics are christians, in fact they are original christians. The church came before the Bible, No where does the Bible say the BIBLE is sole source. It does say scripture and tradition. The power of the Catholic Church does not rest with the pope or the Vatican, the power of the Church is in the Eucharist. John 6 expresses clearly Jesus meaning of eating His flesh. The source and surmount of the mass is the bread and becoming the true flesh and blood of Jesus. Every every early church is built directly a top the bones of the early saints. This christian RU-vidr seems to know nothing about early church history or the early ecumenical councils. Read your Bible. Read the Early Church Fathers, particularly those whose works precede the Council of Nicea. I guarantee, this man has not studied the Church Fathers. His theological objections to the Catholic (and Eastern Orthodox, and Oriental Orthodox) Church are the same tired and simplistic objections I have hear my entire life. I used to be an evangelical christian until I did my homework. I am Roman Catholic now.

The Catholic church was the direct creation of Constantine the Great.....He had no knowledge of Christianity while attempting to direct the Christian movement towards his own ideas for political reasons. It's all in wiki...the catholic church is idolatrous because that was what Constantine was....
