Providing shooters new to competitive shooting or IDPA an easy and safe transition into the sport. Robert Jones introduces you to what a Carry Optic is and what is needed to shoot it in an IDPA match. linktr.ee/speedkingsshootingteam
Thank you for explaining all this. I am a IPSC newbie but looking to go in IDPA also. You can only imagine my surprise when I found out that CZP10F is not IDPA legal! Lucky me I didn't buy that gun already.
Out west too. 6, 7 years ago there were 2 of us with red dots & we had to be in the SPD division. It was the same when we shot USPSA. Now, our largest division is CO. Over 50% of our shooters have an optic.
Good to meet you. What kind of normal pistols are there Can you tell me what kinds of pistols are available for Glock 17 Glock 34 IDPA license? Looking for a gun other than Glock based on 9MM.
@@PaulGee Thank you. I'll wait for the video. Guns are illegal in Korea. IM need to obtain a license in Korea with a gas handgun and obtain an international license abroad with a real gun. Of course, I'm buying guns to prepare for that Koreans only use Glock 17 Glock 34 for Glock love. I left a comment to try a different gun. I'll wait for the weekend.
Hey guys I know it’s an old video and maybe my question has been answered but can you run a milled for optic slide on a Glock for CO or it needs to be an MOS model? Also is stipling allowed in CO?
Hi there @vassilis331! Thank you for watching and subscribing! to answer your question, yes you can run a milled/modified slide cut for a CO of your choice. Just know that whatever cut you have done and optic chosen needs to fit in the IDPA box specific for CO and make the weight requirements. Also, Stipling is allowed in CO and ESP. hope this helps!!
Don't you think the IDPA regulations are a bit outdated with comparison to what is being produced nowadays? Regarding Stock Service Pistol Division (SSP) I have found that most of the brand new pistols: Sig Sauer P320 Legion (43.5 oz (1.2 kg)) , P320 X-Five DH3 (43.5 oz (1.2 kg)) or P226 are either too heavy or too wide. In addition some extra futures which are introduced by the manufactures to make our life better might not be allowed. I heard some people cut a bit their grip to let the gun fit into a box 😞
I agree with you. With an industry controlled by law, public opinion and economy, gun designs remain fluid. However, trying to write rules for IDPA for this sport maybe worse?
@@PaulGee Thank you for your help. Sorry one more clarifying question if you dont mind. So a Radian Ram Jet/After burner combo for a glock wouldn't qualify? It's not threaded onto the barrel, it is held by screw though. So it sounds like it doesn't qualify?
@@PaulGee I am currently shooting CO. Put a new sro on it. First stage had problems finding the dot. I was shooting a Glock with acss reticle for the last two match.
@@PaulGee nice, I just got a x5 legion on a trade with aftermarket trigger which I want to use for idpa CO and wasn’t sure because of the aftermarket trigger
@@luisespinal7123 please do your research with your gun. Sear slippage has been know to happen. Always have it confirmed safe by a specialist prior to use. Don’t want anything to happen to you. Good luck and be safe!
The optic division evolved from ESP, however enthusiasts such as yourself began experimenting with other divisions which are now evolving as well. But you will just need to follow the ESP requirements with your favorite gun, until a change may occur.
I do not see the logic allowing optics with single stack 9mm and not CDP? Again...all divisions should be allowed optics. There is no need for evolving.
Single stack 9mm is capable of holding 10 rounds is why. To run an optic with a CDP gun is a great idea, but you will have to do it with an 8 round disadvantage. Therefore, I don’t see any reason why you couldn’t other than that? As for allowing a Specialty division in CDP, I’ll inquire with IDPA about their thoughts for you. Stand by.
