I've taken IELTS test with the examiner before who was really kind of you and I could hear his all of questions really clearly yet easly from start to finish.
I think she got 8.5 because she was from Korea. Korean, Chinese, and Japanese have harder time learning English because of grammatical orders in a sentence, which is just the opposite of that of English. And her sentences are coming out very stably. considering her age, it is amazing achievement.

She might be overestimated, but the reason you got lower score than she got is that you didn’t speak well as you think. You thought you spoke well, but indeed it didn’t sound like that to the examiners. that’s why. simple.
