@@Aehelp Hello sir, I am a student. I am currently a junior. I had taken the IELTS exam of band 8.5 in speaking when I was in high school, and I had always wanted to improve myself and get a 9. Please note that I am also Chinese and I had also studied in the United States when I was young. Yet when you decided to give this person shown in the video a band 9 in speaking, I silently disagrees. The reasons to my claim is simple. There are several flaws I had detected while watching this video. Firstly, the man has a slight accent to his voice and has a rather slow pace of voice, that in itself set him apart from native speakers that I had seen in your other videos and is quite noticeable. Of course, I do not know the grading process of the IELTS exam, so maybe minimal accents as well as unnatural pace of voice could be tolerated, let's set that aside. However, even if you had failed to notice his previously mentioned flaws, you couldn't possibly have failed to notice he made at least two flaws at 7:46 when he said "take pla" instead of "take place", as well as the fact that when he mentioned "Gao Kao", he said "a certain universities" instead of "a certain of universities", these syllables he unconsciously swallowed as well as the mistakes with plural and implural words and phrases in an extreme detriment in my perspective. Quite honestly, I am disappointed by his performance, and his grading. Because of the fact that I had watched certain videos of your channel before hand, especially the one with the Philappine woman who got an 8.5 instead of 9. You had stated the criteria needed in that video, and I consider them extremely useful. Yet this video is a complete contradiction to your own standard. I am really disappointed. For even though I am a Chinese and I love my country man, I see no way this person outperforms the Philappino woman. He should at best get the same band score of the Philappino woman but definitely not beyond. What would the Philappino woman think if she saw this video? Where is the justice in this? Finally, I admit this person in the video has good choice of words and extensive knowledge. But that is not enough to cover his inability with grammar and phrasing, as well as accents. Please explain that phenomenon that had occured, I am willing to correct myself if you have good reason for this person's defense.

Agree. He does do a great job however. But a 9.0? nope. As an IELTS examiner myself in China, he is at best an 8.0 ( Guangzhou ) The advice about facemasks and Virus shields is also useful but candidates need to adhere to local rules which are sent in an email as well as posted outside whichever center they are taking the test. Some centers will not allow you to wear your own mask in the exam, they may offer you a new one, refusal will end your test.

Homie it is a natural speech, he spoke like a human, with fluctuations, not like a robot that other candidates do

I don’t think he memorized his speech. The reason why he speaks kinda slow is because he wanted to make sure everything spot on (grammar, word choice, pronunciation). He did not use fancy vocabulary at all, he basically avoided making mistakes. I think this is the bar that a band 9.0 taker represents. If you study band descriptors, his speech meets all criteria.

Using natural fillers naturally, is okay.

I think the examiners will know when your fillers come from thinking about the idea/content for the answer, instead of struggling to put your ideas in English. If I was informed correctly, you may get a penalty for fillers or pauses for the latter.
