Thank you for being brilliant Liz! I got Listening 8.5 Reading 7.5 Writing 7 Speaking 8.5 Overall 8. Just from 2 hours of watching your videos and 1 test. Thanks for being a brilliant teacher and God bless you for keeping your content free.
can you help how we can collect good vocabulary for perfect essay in ielts, where we can practise can you recommend something to get good marks in writing?
Hi, this is an answer to Bishal Tuladhar's comment. If the essay question is short, then your introduction will also be short. It's no problem at all. Certainly don't try to add more irrelevant information to make it longer. You will have a short background statement and a clear thesis statement - that's all that is important. All the best Liz
IELTS Liz hi madam i m srilankan and currently live in australia . Could i get sm lessons from u through skype please .i can pay for that first .please reply me
Back here in 2024 to say thank you for these videos! This was the first video I came across and it really helped. Just got my results back and I made a band 8. Thank you so very much
@@mohamedsalahabdiwali9830 For your preparation, you need to review as many pages on my website as possible. There are a lot of practice lessons, tips, topics etc - all free: www.ieltsliz.com
@@ImmigrationTruthUnveiled I most definitely wish you luck!! Remember you can learn a lot in one week, but also remember that you need to have your batteries fully charged for the test -so get rest as well :)
Hi Liz... I work as education agent in Australia and often I have listening to frustrated international students that didn't get a good band score and needs to take a IELTS test once again. To understand their frustration, get to know how to help them, I did a IELTS test around 4 weeks ago. That is not easy at all, all these students should be so proud of themselves. As much as the teachers like you. I found the test quiet complex in some points and confuse in others, and I must admit if you lose the initial point you're in a big trouble (especially on listening module). Honestly, I wanna say how happy I'm knowing that someone like you spend time to help others making these videos. Many students have no money to pay extra classes or private tutors, so this channel is essential to them. In my opinion, your lessons are undoubtedly great. Your voice is soft, clear and pass a lot of confidence to the audience, as you don't think too much to say what you need to say, like some other people on youtube. Great job Liz!!
Andre Braussie Thanks Andre. I'm really glad my lessons have been useful. I know IELTS is a very challenging test and without preparation it is difficult to achieve a score which realistically reflects a person's level of English, particularly for the academic test. Even a native speaker would not necessarily get a band score 9 without training. For this reason, I wanted to put these videos up and generally shed some light. Here's a link to my IELTS blog - there's much more information as well as more lessons and tips for free: www.ieltsliz.com. Thanks for getting in touch. All the best Liz
Thank you so much for your wonderful videos Liz. your videos taught me a lot while preparing for my IELTS! I scored L:9, R:8.5, W:7, S:8.5 and overall 8.5.
Thanks miss liz. Youre better than the review center i enrolled the last time i took an ielts exam. My current scores for listening 9.0 (thanks to sally ielts and you) Reading 8.0 (thanks to ielts mentor and ielts exam) Speaking 7.5 (thanks to your topic samples in your website) Writing 7.5 (thanks to your vids)
jane29jeng hiii..can u please suggest me which website is useful for writing task.. Also, tell me how was the listening and reading level in exam .is it same as we have seen on many websites..
Bright Star ieltsliz.com and ielts-exam.net helped me a lot with the writing test. The websites have so many samples you can try and sometimes they give out model answers. Try to pattern your writing style to theirs because IELTS is looking for a specific writing style (which is pointed out really well by Liz in this video). Practice as much as you can so you can get used to writing under 60 minutes. Listening and reading tests are slightly easier in the actual exam. But it’s good to practice more difficult sample tests so it’ll be easier for you when you’re finally doing the real tests. Try to simulate the real exam as in doing the 3 tests one after another (Listening, Reading, and Writing) with no breaks. This way you’ll get used to using your mind for a long time, and in the real exam, the invigilators won’t give you bathroom breaks as soon as you enter the exam room. But if you really need to go, they will not stop the time so you need to be really quick about it. Try to do the speaking test later in the day. Hope this helps.
jane29jeng very useful information u have given me.thanku so much..I hv my exam on 11 May. Can you please give some ideas about listening MCQ .. sometimes I find this very hard..
Liz is an outstanding teacher. I got through my IELTS with an overall band score of 7.5. All thanks to Liz ! I highly recommend this channel. Thanks so much for sharing invaluable insight!

Hi Liz... I would like to thank you for your guidance. I desperately needed to get 7 band score in all sections of IELTS for my Fellowship in Australia and was unable to score in my last 3 IELTS exams.. In my latest exam though because of your help I managed to score L= 9, R= 8.5, W= 7.5 and S = 7..Thanks a lot.
Hello once again teacher Liz, I’m back here once again to say a big thank you for the mentorship and online tutorials among which I’m a one of your great success stories! I never attended any IELTS classes but your online platform prepared me within 2 months and I sat my IELTS general on 8th Oct at British Council Qatar and excelled with an overall Bandscore 7 (Listening 7.5, writing 6.5, speaking 6.5, reading 6.5). I’m so greatful for the support.
Dear Liz, i'd like to thank you for all the effort you've put in all your videos to make it easy for the students to prepare for the IELTS test. I had my test 2 weeks ago and I only watched your videos to prepare for it. Today I recieved my result [ Listening 8 / Reading 7 / Writing 6.5 / Speaking 7 = Overall 7.0 ] I managed to use all the tips that you have mentioned in the Speaking/Writing videos. Using either lower/upper case letters in the answer sheets was a thing that I kept in mind. I'm not so happy with my writing grade but the overall grade is what really matter, Plus, my univ requires 5.5 for the Writing sec. So I guess the 6.5 is somehow fine. Thank you again for all the help your given me.
M 18 I'm really pleased for you. That's a strong result. Well done! Yes, the key is to get the score to carry on with your plans. An overall 7 is great. All the best with your future :) Liz

Hi Liz! Thanks to you I got an overall 8 in my first attempt 🎉 I referred to each and every page on your website during the 2 weeks of preparation time that I had in hand before taking my IELTS test on the 15th of October. I bought your Ideas E-Book 5 days before my test although I wish I had purchased it earlier because it would make my life so much easier. I read every single page within those 5 days and it helped me so much not only in my writing task 2 but also in my speaking test. (To those of you who have very little time to prepare for your IELTS test, consider buying the e-book. It has so many ideas, useful vocabulary and collocations, as well as exercises to make sure you’ve understood the meaning and use of certain words, and ALL of this for over 180 topics! It applies to both General and Academic tests. It’s been a big lifesaver for me and I assure you that it’s worth every penny!) I am beyond grateful for all the time and effort you have put into creating all these videos, tips, practice exercises, model answers, vocabulary lists and so much more, and making it accessible to everyone. You’re truly a blessing to so so so many of us, Liz! May God bless you and your family with immense love, happiness and good health all the days of your lives! Thank you soooo much once again, Liz! You’re the absolute best :D

Hey Liz, I am preparing for my IELTS and someone suggested me your name, that is why i am here and i have experienced a totally different aspect of preparing for it in comparison to what i was told by my tutor. My tutor told me to start with introduction, then in your body paragraph "i have to write both sides" and in the last paragraph which is known as conlusion i have to state my opinion. Upon such teachings, i gave my Ielts exam but didn't score well, i got 6 in writing which is very shameful for me as i have studied the cambridge board and given all of my exams in english language. I am reappearing for my IELTS, your videos are way too helpful.
Each type of IELTS essay is slightly different. You need to review techniques for each type of essay. You can find model essays, tips, practice lessons and more for free on this page: ieltsliz.com/ielts-writing-task-2/. I'll also post my videos in the coming weeks/months. Good luck with your preparation. The more you understand the test, the better your score will be.
Heyy Liz !!!! I am so grateful for all the free lessons you have uploaded on RU-vid, as well as information on your website. I cannot express how much respect I have for you, I scored an overall of 8 Bands in IELTS Computer-based test (L-8.5, R-8, W-7.5, S-7). I cannot thank you enough for all the hard-work you did for all the resources. I must say your writing tips are of top grade and as well as your opinions about every other section. May god give you everything you wish for. Cheers !!!! 😃😃😃

@@SaifJuban1234 IELTS is testing your level of English. If your level of English is around band 5, then you won't be able to get band 8 until your level of English improves. Band 8 is about being able to handle almost all topics with a high level of fluency and a deep understanding of a broad range of vocabulary. Certainly, you can learn IELTS test techniques, strategies and topics which you can find for free on my website: www.ieltsliz.com. During my Teenage, I first understood the necessity of doing Excercise. The moment I started Exercising on a daily basis, the substantial change I have observed in my Physical and mental health is extensive. The Human body is engineered to move not to sit so as we sit all day at work and home, Our body starts to degenerate and we get many diseases. An anecdotal report claims, if a person sits more than 11hours in a row every day, he is more prone to premature death than those who exercise. Exercise is also beneficial for having a focused mind and a good mood as after Exercising, the brain releases Serotonin which is responsible for having a Good Mood.

Hi Liz, hope you are doing good... I did my IELTS General Training exam on 08th October. Got my results today, I got Listening - 8.5 Reading - 9 Writing - 7.5 Speaking - 7 I simply watched all your videos and worked according to your tips, honestly I didn't do a single reading practice test, but your tips really helped me, in fact I had 15 minutes spare time as well. Speaking didn't go as planned because I had an Indian examiner, whose accent was a little difficult for me to process and had negative body language, so I panicked and couldn't perform as expected. But overall I am happy about the result and I am eternally grateful to you and your videos for guiding me to get the expected score in one go. I have never done IELTS before and I got this score by watching your videos and preparing only for 3 days. 😍🙏 God bless you ! Keep educating people. Thank you ! 💖

Hi Liz. I myself am an English teacher in Italy, and have been preparing students for the academic IELTS for a number of years. Firstly, I'd like to thank you for the excellent videos you have produced - I often direct my students to your material for revision and they all agree that they are very useful and clear. However, I do have one query regarding this video about writing an introduction. I have always told my students that they cannot say "In my opinion, I agree" because if you say you agree with something, then obviously that is your opinion - there's no need to say it’s your opinion: it's redundant. Am I incorrect? Thanks for your help, Georgia
@@okeblessing1455 I think you could write something like: "In my opinion, this is certainly the key to achieving better health" (where "this" is a linking device referring to the background statement, providing cohesion). Or: "I totally agree that this approach is the key to achieving better health" (where "totally" answers the question "to what extent") I hope this is helpful: good luck with your preparation and exam!

Hi Liz, Great teaching, but I'm flummoxed you saying that the examiners don't look for the hook. I strongly agree with you as we don't have much time to get it done. However, one of the ielts teacher on RU-vid said that the hook is an important part of introduction and this is where the examiners are looking for.
