For everyone that keeps saying the cable is on backwards in the thumbnail, they are not. They are plugged in correctly but the cable spins around which I had to do to get the shot. When the cables are turned the correct way I couldn't get the earbuds to sit still because the cable was pushing them forward
@@ghandylan7246 if you imagine picking up the monitors, and move them in front of the cable, they'd be right. They're plugged in right but the translucent cable APPEARS wrong.
These aren't earbuds. Buds are those things that just sit outside your ear canal in your concha. You had it right in the beginning.....then you called them buds. FYI.....foam tips will tame the treble. I have the CCA A10 which is a 10 BA driver variant of this and the treble is overwhelming.
Amazing review. Just bought the as 10 and immediately knew that needed the 16. And you just gave me more reasons to get it ,and use them with consoles. Thank you !
You mentioned something that is barely said talking about KZ earphones and is the fact you can equalize them so easy that you can make them sound to the point to love them, I own a cheap KZ ZST pro for about 2 years and even with those I managed to notice the difference between regular earbuds and KZ, I'm planning to buy either the KZ AS 06 ( that I've heard they have a great bass) or the KZ ZS 10 pro that have 10 drivers to taste that kind of sound, great review.
Of all the videos I've watched talking about IEMs, I find that yours is best at describing the kind of sound you'd get from the product you are reviewing. At this price point I wish KZ included one of their better cables in the box and also, better eartips.
I just got the CCA C-10 (5 drivers per ear). For $40 they are the best IEM I have ever used. Better than my $400 Westone IEM. I think CCA and KZ are the same company.
@@laurents1906 apparently KZ is a big chinese conglomerate we have no idea who is controlling who in general. They might be having some totally random company under their umbrella which we have never heard of
@@cyano3d yeah it's confusing i know KZ and CCA are same company because in my country official KZ also sell CCA and they call CCA sister company, interestingly i found QKZ and on the about page QKZ said that they're parent of KZ and CCA if I'm not mistaken or so but idk why QKZ isn't as famous as KZ or CCA, most of QKZ iem are BASS focus IEM. So my theory is QKZ=Bass CCA=Balanced KZ=High treble
or rip off from shure at first place. but it is a way more reputable company. but sound is all we care xD. i sold my se535 coz i got a nuforce edc3, it is definite not better than 535 but the price difference is huge. now i guess i have to sell edc3 again haha
Alan Xu Shure’s were too muddy for me, and in eq stages in my monitoring system it’s a lot easier to cut treble than trying to add it to an IEM that lacks that range in the first place
@@marcm.999 Hi there! Yes I'm still using these and LOVING them! Totally worth the savings, and the sound signature and detail is remarkable. Personally I think you can't go wrong with these tips from amazon, "New Bee" foam tips, cheap and reliable. Buy this one first to find your size, and then you can just buy them in sets all your size after that! www.amazon.com/dp/B071Z6J3XL/?coliid=I11YJ8R17SSQE1&colid=JRYSIM1Q4OB7&psc=1&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it
I have the KZ ZST's (Coloful version) and love them, especially at their price point ($20-25 on Amazon) as they definitely perform above their price bracket. I pair mine with a Topping NX1s amp when I use them with my phone, and the awaken even more. Now I chose not to get the inline mic on mine too.
WEM You can upgrade the cable. KZ has upgrade cables including one with a lighting connector on silver plated cable. You can attached the monitors to a set of TRN BT20 BT 5.0 ear modules to provide wireless operation. One of the best sounding ear monitors is the Hidizs Mermaid MS 4 4 drivers 1-10.1mm DD and 3-BAs comes numerous cables.
@@NjabuloHadebe Indeed I do and they're still kicking. I would have preferred a bit less sibilance though, cymbals can be fatiguing but the clarity is refreshing.
Good, truthful analysis. BA drivers are the way to go and they're leaving DD drivers in the dust; old skool. KZ (and sister company CCA) are leading the charge and I'm sure the high-end (overpriced) companies are seeing the writing on the wall.
This is like a secret knowledge, self proclaimed audiophiles who swear by single or dual driver setups from some $1000+ scam brand don't even mention drivers that go beyond 5. We truly overspend just to be the kid with the newest toy rather than the most informed kid who will beat everyone shopping at brick and mortar by ordering from home but selecting wisely.
@@zenniz1992 SHUREs, no caugh. Recently bought Shure SE215, which is around the same price range as the AS16s, and have to tell you my 30 dollar Xiaomi in ears sound miles better than them. lol Ordered AS16s, can't wait for them to arrive.
Why do more drivers justify a higher price? We buy them for the sound quality (most of us). The more drivers the harder to balance everything and to get it right.
Perfect words describing this madness. Love KZ but if they are going to jack up price for more drivers and less fascinating sound bah forget it. DM6 or DM7 just a little more of money to get better everything.
@@junboo8730 shitty bass doesn't mean fascinating sound you morons just by beats by Dr Dre for mainstream shitty sounds and don't watch videos about good earphones.
I own a pair of these. Worth the money for ANY gigging musician that is doing bar gigs and small to mid size venues... I also own the as10 / pro, zsx( 6 drivers ) all worth the money for gigging
@@frostywuff me personally. 16's are great for everyone except the bass player. I like to hear alot of bass when I play (I play bass) these are everyone elses for band setting. I would recommend the zsx series honestly. I absolutely love them and the design also.
There is great ChiFi stuff out there and I bet these IEM's are great. .but there is a lot garbage too.. you have to find the germ's... I've bought the "Fearless S8 Freedom" (8 BA on each side too).. they are fantastic... most import is a perfect seal... 1 DAP I can recommend is the new Fiio M11... good video 👍
@@Helios.vfx. I like it..it's a fantastic DAP.. 3,5mm & balanced 2,5/4,5mm... Listening with Fearless S8F & Sony XBA Z5 (balanced).. if you want a warmer sound I recommend a portable tube amp.. Fiio really did an excellent job 👍
I am a little bothered by the cable placement in the thumbnail. By the way, have you tried the kz zs10 pro? They say it's the best overall from kz. I do not know how they perform for gaming though.
Hi, just to make sure is the AS16 type B as well on PINS which is the same as the ZST? I plan into upgrading to this IEM but I can't afford to lose my aptX cables.
Hey man I wanna buy "Wired" earbuds (in-ear headphones) for gaming... i need a noise cancellation on mic (+ a mute button) and a good sound quality... under 200$... any suggestions? I wear glasses... That's why I cant use Headphones (on-ear and over-ear)
Very goo review. I actually got my KZ AS16 around 9 month ago and have been very happy with it. However sometimes high frequences can be a bit harsh but it depends on actual songs you're listening. But I recently found a solution. Got custom 16 core cable for around 20$ on aliexpress and it made it perfect. Soundstage became wider, the whole sound experience became richer and most of all it added just a bit more bass and made highest notes less bright. So on my experience updating cable for this IEM is a must.
130$ and no case? Oof. So far I am not sure how I feel about my kraken x. It is very much an improvement of comfort over some of what I have but I don't know if I've adjusted to the sound..this is a good review, but I don't have a headphone jack :(
Hey fam, can anyone tell me if these kz 16 can beat a shure 535? I’m considering I’m selling away my 535s to buy another iem, but I have little to no clue which Budget iems can match up to it!
Are this the same earphones like the cca c16. They r Looking nearly the same? Ps: Does anybody can recommemd a good in ear earphone for less then 250 bucks which sounds clear with no spongy Bass. But which also has a dry heavy differentiated Bass when using the EQ for modern music.
I'm a musician who recently bought a Shure in ears, the SE215s which is around the same price as the AS16s. Shure, you better up your game in terms of sound for each price bracket. My 30 dollar Xiaomi in ears sound better than your 100 dollar in ear self claimed professional monitors by miles and it's just laughable. I ordered the AS16 because the Xiaomi is dying on me so can't wait to try it out. The SE215s are being returned the moment I receive the AS16s.
Whatttttttt! 16 drivers that's insane now this have to be 10.1 surround sound earbuds man theses got to sound amazing my God 16 drivers 1 more lose this one.
Also I'm sure reverse engineering might've played a role as China skips reseach phase and just rips off our intellectual product/designs ie. reverse engineering. These brands that cost 10 times as much but spend their money in research and design to help pay for that reseach.
SIRAJ KP These. Why even get the Bluetooth headset? There is usually less sound quality and even when they say bass some other earbuds have better bass .
Consumer earbuds? That sounds like Audiophile snobbery. We are all consumers and maybe Audiophiles even more as they consume much more audio products than the average music fan.
Consumer earbuds means earbuds that are tuned to have emphasized bass and treble. Like Beats, skullcandy, Bose, most Sony's etc. And just not having a flat sound signature. It's not audiophile snobbery. In fact, I prefer things tuned that way. I dont prefer flat sounding headphones in most situations. So you're wrong about it being audiophile snobbery
support china product, no i'm not sarcastic, support them really cause company like shures will cost you a kidney for the same quality that KZ can offer you.
