I just want to say that you are one of my favorite homeschool moms! I feel like so much of what you use is what we use or are switching to. Your honesty and positivity is such a breath of fresh air! We absolutely love IEW!!!
Thank you so much for this video!! Our girls are the same age and I've been looking at IEW for her 5th grade also, but the website was so confusing to me. This video really helped me see what to order to get started 🙂
Love your detail review. I think this is the only review who really took the time to show the content and so we can have an idea. I wish you can make a review for the other two levels as well as you explained this one. Thank you!
Hey Brit! Currently watching... I've always been curious about this curriculum so I'm glad your doing this video! I feel the same way about writing... I am pretty intimidated by it... but the good thing is that we can learn right a long side our kids!
Thanks for the flip through, I actually was debating on which level to buy. Your video and the ones you shared in the playlist helped me finally decide. I am glad I waited because I finally got to support your channel and brought my package through your affiliate link😊.
This was a great flip through! I am thinking about switching to it after this coming year. We’ll see. But I’d definitely like to hear how it works for you.
We’re going to be do this as well for my upcoming 4th grader and we’re really excited. We did the 3 week free trial and it was really good. My son loved it. He begged me to continue with it, so we’re doing it for next year.
That is amazing! My daughter want to start right now too lol ! I told her we have to finish our year and maybe we can do a unit or 2 in the summer lol.
@@SummerMeyers I'm wanting to try it for my future 5th and 6th grader. Definitely using 1A for my 5th grade son, but I'm not sure if I should use 1B with my daughter. I'm leaning towards it since she enjoys a challenge
Can’t wait to see how it works for you…I know you’ll do great with it. Let us know how you do with 4 days a week! I like how organized it seems to be and how everything is laid out including how you grade it at the end. I need those parameters so I’m not too lenient but not too harsh
Yes ! The checklist it definitely a plus. I find myself pushing more than I should because I see the potential. I am nervous but excited to start IEW. Bri wants to start now if I would let her lol 😂
I think we are going to be using this in the fall. We are going to do the 3 week trial starting monday to see how it goes. Thanks for doing the flip thru.
Thank you. This was so helpful..I see where IEW offers a teacher's training course with one of the bundles, and I'm trying to figure out if I need that to get started. Did you purchase the training course?
Hey Brittany! I just wanted to let you know that the Composition Checklist for parents to use during grading is downloaded from your account on the IEW website. I did not even know this until weeks later!! 🤦♀️ I was struggling to figure out how many points each section was worth and I was using the same checklist that my son was using to try to grade. It might be a “duh” for people, but for some reason I didn’t figure this out until later when I just happened to be clicking around on my account 😂. I don’t know if it was not very clear on their website/teacher’s manual or if it was an oversight on my part. Anyway, thought I’d let you know just in case.
Thank you for your videos! Love watching them. Wanted to know did you use any formal writing curriculums or anything in third or fourth grade to teach your daughter writing at all?
How did she do with level A? Also have a 5th grader who excelled in writing in private last year but feel like I should start here. Thanks for all you do!
