This looks like it's based largely on the original Bubblegum Crisis. But other cyberpunk anime are Ghost in the Shell (crime show, the bike in the game, Yaiba Kusanagi, is named after the protagonist), Psycho Pass (crime and psychological, also my highest recommendation of anime listed), Akira (the Yaiba Kusanagi bike in the game is almost certainly based off of this one), Blade Runner Black Out 2022 (single episode, action-focused connection between Blade Runner and Blade Runner 2049), Appleseed (action-focused with mechs), and Dominion: Tank Police (light-hearted crime action-comedy). For western cyberpunk viewing be sure to watch Blade Runner (arguably the defining film of the cyberpunk genre loosely based off of the 1968 novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep), it's sequel is actually quite good as well Blade Runner 2049, Total Recall (the original, the 2012 version loses some elements and is much more neo-sci-fi), RoboCop (the original, same as previous), and Altered Carbon Season 1 (the pacing feels off in season 2, but potentially worth a watch).

Cyberpunk: Edgrunners anime on Netflix in September

You had to loose Jackie to truly understand how nasty night city can be... Personally I saw his death like it was Ned Stark... We might start to apreciate the mood of the game but we needed something to remind us it's a cyberpunk game not just a futuristic rpg, anyone can die at any moment you cant fool death : this is not a nice story. Even tho you dont have anything (nor anyone) its somehow the anger of the loss of jackie that pushed me for the first few hours afte his death... I needed to avenge him.

@@thepiredugaming Jackie is one of the most useless characters plot wise, we see him during early game and then he's dead and everyone is crying how good he was even if you saw him only for 20 minutes.
