IF Roxy was introduced in generation 8 and was still a poison type gym leader. I believe the literal perfect Pokémon to be her ace is Toxtricity. The obvious poison typing goes with her gym along with the punk rocker vibe and personality it gives off goes hand and hand with Roxy. They are soulmates locked in regions far far away

Nidoking as Giovanni's ace would've made sense because Team Rocket uses a lot of Poison-types, and it suits with Giovanni's status as a "king" himself of sorts. All the more ironic in that Ground types, Nido's secondary typing, are strong against Poison-types.

Saying "His new ace should be Galarian Weezing, because he's toxic" about Bede is actually kinda funny, bc the sword pokedex says that it absorbs toxic chemicals and _releases clean air_ , which is actually pretty fitting for his semi-redemption arc (i say arc, its barely anything. i wish he had more of a personality, i love Bede)

Gen 1 I would agree with Mands view on misty surge Erika and Giovanni I think kabuto should be brocks ace since the museum is in pewter city n he should get a fossil as result In rematch aerodactyl Gen 2 tyranitar Koga id go venomoth Gen 1 since it really is his strongest poison type and it embodies his philosophy and frankly koga needs some firepower he traditionally lacks Gen 2 I agree with crobat Sabrina I would go hypno for both because she needs something that can take an attack to balance her offense Blaine id go charizard because he needs something to counteract ground n fighting types Gen 2 would be arcanine

No qualms with gen 2 Gen 3 I agree with Brawly wattson Flannery Norman n Winona I think Roxanne will be better with lileep, it would make her better suited n more well rounded Tate n Liza I will go with claydol and xatu they are a fantastic Gen 3 pairing in a double battle and perfect complement Remaches I would go metagross and starmie Omega I would go with girafarig n xatu to cover the bases better n since for some reason girafarig never got used in gen 2 n it shuts down ghost Rematches would be gallade and gardevoir Wallace i would go walrein because it evolves then Rematch i would go with vaporeon since that hasn't been picked yet I would copy this in omega Juan i would roll with milotic actually for all of the above and put a vaporeon n starmie on his rematch teams

@@rudysarmiento8700 Except, once you reach Cerulean you can't backtrack to Viridian Forest until after you beat Misty. So if you didn't encounter/catch a pikachu during your initial trip, you'd still be screwed.

Electric types are rare in gen 1, in Red and Blue the only places to encounter them are Pikachu in Viridian Forest, Voltorb on Route 10 which requires Misty's badge to access, the Power Plant which requires Misty and Koga's badges to access, possibly Jolteon in Celadon City, and then Raichu in the post game locked Cerulean Cave. You can't even beat Surge early to give Thunderbolt to a Rattata since you need Misty's badge to cut the tree in front of his Gym.

I think this video would be AMAZING now that we have Terastalizing. Giving a gym leader an ace with the ability to make it their ace type could be sick. Using a similar line of thinking as Jasmine would be cool, like giving Clair Tyranitar and having it tera into a dragon.

I'm actually not a fan of needing the ace to terastalize to match the type, just because any future generation appearances of those Leaders won't be able to use them anymore. Generational gimmicks don't carry over anymore, which means, other than Larry, none of the gen 9 Gym Leaders will be able to keep their aces outside of Scarlet and Violet.

Fun fact: Every Steel leader has a Steelix, and every Ghost leader has a Gengar. Edit: Every Fire leader has an Arcanine. Every Fighting leader has a Machamp. Every Poison leader has a Koffing/Weezing. Every Ground leader has an Onix, Sandslash, and Krookodile. Every Psychic leader has a Slowking. Every Ghost leader also has a Dusknoir. Every Steel leader also has a Magnezone, Skarmory, Bronzong, Forretress, and Excadrill. Every Fairy leader has a Mawile. Also Psychic Leader in Pokemon Reborn (Radomus) uses both Gallade and Gardevoir in Gym Battle But it isn't the same, because Gallade is his lead Pokemon and Gardevoir is his ace (the fact he runs Doubles does not help as much as you would think)

Mate I'd love to see ya make another Gym Leader Ace video, but this time with no region or level restrictions... Some Pokemon are just perfect for Gym Leaders... A few examples being: - Roxie / Toxtricity - Pryce / Mr.Rime - Giovanni /Krookodile - Tate & Liza / Male & Female Meowstic - Chuck and Brawly could literally swap their aces, because to me, Chuck / Hariyama and Brawly / Poliwrath makes so much more sense!

Why not a video for an update team for each gym leader? Every gym leaders get's acces to all the pokemon of the speaclized typing updated aces can't be replicated ( unless necessary), gym leader's teams still consist with at least 1 pokemon of their gen. Maybe making it a more part video for each region? Plus, their full team for rematches? Having acces to pokemon who counter their weaknesses would make gym leaders a real force to reckoned with. Might be even good to increase the min pokemon they use to 3? E4 members could be a seperate video where they could even use pokemon who are aces of gymleaders, but aren't their aces.

The current aces for Bea and Allister still make sense, though, seeing as Gym Leaders started using Gigantamax Pokémon at Gym 3, and Machamp and Gengar are, as Michael said, the only base game G-Max Pokémon of their specific types. (I say base game because of course Urshifu exists, but it’s a Legendary and it’s Mustard’s ace anyways.)

On Sabrina - Starmie actually fits on a different level. As you/Ash mentioned, IT DOESN'T HAVE A FACE, GUYS! No face - no easy way to read emotions or figure out what it's thinking or feeling; which is an awful like the stoic, distant Sabrina, especially with some of her non-game portrayals. Add to that the fact Starmie's actually a _really good_ Pokemon in terms of attacking and coverage, and it could be as fearsome as Alakazam in its own right. Imagine a new or even average player having to deal with Gen1 'always use super effective attacks first' AI using a Starmie with _Thunderbolt and Ice Beam/Blizzard_ along with Psychic and Recover.

I think it would have been cool if Wattson was a double battle where he had Plusle and Minun as part of a larger team. Like he sends out one of the two alongside another, stronger electric type but the Plus/Minun is at a higher level, and if you prioritize the other electric type, you have to deal with the plus and minus abilities on a gym leader's Pokemon. With double battles being introduced in gen 3, and with Plusle and Minun being made as Pokemon better suited for the double battle format, I feel like this kind of setup with the electric gym would have been a better option for a gym leader representation of double battles.

You know Mike, you actually nailed some of the alternate aces. If you’ve ever read any of the manga, several characters actually use the Pokémon you picked. EDIT-1: 7:37 How about the fact that, also in the anime, Magmar was introduced with one of THE best and most chilling music mixes in the series, and it literally almost KILLED Pikachu! That was the first time I was genuinely afraid for Ash, and the showdown between Magmar and Charizard was one of the most thrilling battles in the original series. EDIT-2: 18:10 Oh, dear lord, yes. That Kingdra makes Claire’s look like an innocent prankster in comparison. While Shock Wave and Aerial Ace aren’t very strong, I ALWAYS needed one or both to hit that stupid thing. Cheap, sure, but I play to win, dang it!

I think poliwrath works well for Chuck for not only being a strong fighting type for the midgame that wasn't featured on any other team until this point it also works from being the only fighting water pokemon for a guy whos gym is on a tiny island and also if i remember correctly in hg/ss there were waterfalls in his gym.

@Arinan Vikraman That can learn HM03 Surf? The only other Gen 3 fighting-type that can learn it is the water/fighting dual type Poliwrath. In the current generation, there are 6 (including arceus and silvally) pure fighting that meet the criteria: pancham, garrapaclot, and Makuhita/Hariyama.

NOTE: You mentoned that Blissey could be a Fairy-type, which is ironic as, in Ultra Sun/Moon, the Totem Ribombee in Mina's trial actually SOS calls a Blissey, so I think the devs did that as a nod to your statement. ;)
