@@takomamut9505 one of the early episodes in season 15. Tucker says he activated the Temple of Procreation, which sent everybody on Chorus into a sexual frenzy. Tucker got a bunch of people pregnant, Grif and Simmons got stuck in a storage locker and didn’t want to talk about it.
I love how the series subtly hints at the fact that Grif is probably just as big a nerd / geek as Simmons when it comes to certain things, he just refuses to be associated with the ‘culture.’ Something tells me he was that kid in highschool that drifted between the cliques but never fit in and no one really disliked but also didn’t include in events because they didn’t know him that well. Simmons was definetly on the chess club and probably ran a D&D game during lunch.
Indeed. Simmons is part cyborg, since season 1, and Grif had those parts that Simmons' cybernetics replaces become his parts on the same side when he got run over by Sheila. Another interpetation among the Blood Gulch Crew is that Tucker has dreadlocks, Wash has a few scars in his face, Caboose is occasionally depicted as being tall due to being super strong. and Donut has a large burn scar on the right side of his face from the sticky nade Tex hit him with, I saw that one artist made it so that part was just colored pink.
Out of curiosity, where are you getting this from? The only ethnicity we know of the two is that Simmons has Dutch-Irish heritage, though Grif said he thought Simmons was of "a Latino persuasion". It wasn't clear whether he assumed that based on Simmons' appearance or some other reason. Grif is from Hawaii and his sister's first name Kaikaina is apparently Hawaiian for "younger sibling of the same sex" so some people use that as possible "proof" of them being at least part native Hawaiian (and possibly one of them being transgender) though it makes me think more of people outside of a culture wanting to choose something from a different language and either not learning what it meant or finding an entry that gave it a different definition on some baby name website or blog, but I suppose either could be justified. Basically, where are you getting that from? (Genuinely wondering). A lot of throwaway lines in this show were not meant to be taken seriously but it won't stop me and other fans from frankensteining it all together into some chaotic yet cohesive tapestry.
Actually, Simmons is plain as bread white, he's Dutch-Irish. Grif is typically depicted as Hawaiian, as is Kaikaina. I think Geoff said Grif's hometown was Honolulu, so that's why. Tucker is also black. His first name is Lavernius, and there are apparently other reasons too. Sarge and Donut are both American, Sarge is southern and Donut midwestern. Church is of Jewish descent, it was confirmed that Director Church was, so our Church is too. Of the others, everyone else is white. Barring Lopez, because he's a robot.
@@sonofjack6286 There is a relatively "new" theory that I like about Sarge. Since he told Jax that his real name needs a Mandarin keyboard to be spelled properly, the theory is he's first generation American of Asian / Siberian decent who grew up in the deep south. I think it throws the whole Southern Mad Scientist stereotype he has going for him for a wild loop. 🙂
