Fun Fact: The director of Mirrormask, Dave McKean, is also the the artist who illustrated all of Helena's drawings and it was his art that inspired the movie's overall design. He is also the same artist who did the illustrations for the Novella "Coraline"
This movie got terrible reviews, but I liked it very much. It didn't have a particularly deep plot or serious direction, but the visuals were stunning and music was wonderful, especially this last song.
It is now 2019 when I write this, I have bought this movie a few weeks ago and its my 10th time watching it, I love this song and the movie is great, I never get tired of watching it, I've seen trailers as a teen but never watched it, I'm glad i picked it up
The movie is.. brilliant! I have no words to describe it /:. I told my friends to watch it but when they ask me: "What is it about?" I can't give them an answer.. and if I give them one it would be not sufficient to describe the movie :D. I just say: It's a masterpiece!
He was also responsible a rather obscure comic "Sandman" or was it "The Sandman", I used to try to duplicate his work, as I loved his light & dark contrast in his artwork, and I always loved his shading. This movie when I first saw it, wasn't sure if I'd like it but it really grew on me.My father was ill during the time I watched it, and it just hit a raw nerve where I knew everything the char. was feeling & the need to cope through art & music. It's such an underrated work.
Well, Dave Mckean only did the covers of sandman. One comic when both, Mckean and Gaiman worked together and was even more underrated was Signal and Noise, is about a writer who want to write a novel about the prophecy of the end of the world in the Xth century while his own life is falling apart. Is good, I recommend it
Just watched this movie for the first time last night and wow! What an inspiration and amazingly unique movie. The soundtrack is like Radiohead on steroids.

I will personally lay a hellish ass whoopin on the first person that "dislikes" this track. Every time I watched this BEAUTIFUL movie...this track lullabied me to sleep...
