Doing something stupid in a training game is actually a great feeling. You can say: "At least it wasn't a real game." And that's very true, you feel as if you've gotten away with something, as if you've spent your stupidity and bad luck before playing actual rated otb chess.

Any chess player can relate to that ending. We´ve all been there at some point.

32:40 my intention was e4 but I blundered Bxe4 ;) (Although engine still says equal after Bxe4...)

That blunder is not something to take seriously. It was just a typical time pressure moment, something to dismiss and forget.

The knight maneuver by your opponent was quite brilliant and I was not expecting it at all!

Definitely, he's a crafty player. Very good at wiggling out of constrictions and coordination of his pieces.

How did your English get so good? Loved "dreadful". Such a great word. Was quite surprised you didn't meet the early ...a5 wth just a2-a3 preparing to push past if he plays ...a4. I didn't see why you had to give up the b4 square.

I did the exact same thing just recently in my game with the queen, I thought somehow it was covered.

Don't throw up about it. We all blunder sometimes, especially under time pressure.

I did the same thing in an otb game this season. Calculated it 5 moves in advance thinking it was mate and played it without re-checking, but the opponent could just take it with the king.

A very instructive video. Even though you mouse slipped in the end :)

I’ve commented this before on your videos but a good antidote to 4 Bd6 is to play c4, nc3 and then nfd2. E4 is easy to play and the usual e5 counterplay black plays for (after re8, nbd7, etc) doesn’t work tactically

For more details, Avrukh covers it in his catalan book. Cristof seleiki also covers it in his Keep it simple d4 book/course

I once allowed a mate in 1 in a winning positions in a tournament game. Tunnel vision combined with time pressure.

Aronian blundered mate in 1 not so long ago, so you're in good company. :-)

Weird ending of the game but we all hallisunate at some rare occations, but i miss deeper and a bit slower after analysis of the games. Tho i can understand the resentment to not wanting to do that emidiately after this game. I lost many game over the board after playing well and just loosing it all in time trouble. I think white must have been better up to where the A pawn was given up. I did not like that decision. It was already loose yes. But white was pawn up and yes perhaps there could become dangerous on the king side. But it seemed thar the pawns on queen sidewas very relevant.. if not the most relevant. When black got that freepawn in the a file. It look like white need only defend.. attacking the b pawn was an idea.. threathening to do something with the white c pawn. For instanc3 at 41:02 wasn't Qb4 better than retreating all the way back to Qc1? I know with oposite colored bishop there are dangerous mating threats. But when white eventualy got the bishop relocated to e5, witch was a good idea, it does not help in controlling that dangerous A pawn.. so it seem white has to control that pawn with queen. Witch is not so good.. so it seemed like white needed to get their own pawns going... and somehow beeing able to use the bishop in both defence and attack. For instance at 44:25.. the idea of getting queen to f4, i dont understand. It just seems that the A pawn will become too dangerous? At 33:55 Re1 white won a pawn. But the white bishop was good on b5, after it left the board the a pawn seemed flimsy. And the remaining bishop on b2 became a real problem. But after blacks great move Ne6 threathening the rook, and the fork... perhaps there was no other good option?
