I’d have an L85a3. It served me extremely well through the tail-end of my time in Afghanistan, it certainly isn’t the best rifle out there, but it never let me down and i loved using it. And i’m a sucker for the elcan.
@@FrogToadBug To be fair, my optics aren’t super flashy; but I still spent a decent amount on them. Almost about a $600 dollar setup on my “SHTF” rifle (which currently identifies as a pistol bc 12.5” 🤣😅)
@@FrogToadBug the new Primary arms 3x Mirco is a game changer... under 8 oz 3x prism... and by all accounts quality! from one AUG owner to another happy AUGtober
I’d probably go with a Roland special type build for a 34 because it is good for home defense and can be concealed and most engagements are fairly close
I would go for fn fal. I understand it has no optics mount, but that gun and 308 rounds it pushes down range have that sufficient punch for hunting and defense. Plus the wood furniture on it looks cool.
For me its the FN-57 definitely I know theres better guns out there but the 57 is... Its hard to say why but its a favourite Small, concealable, powerful, and made by the same people that made the P-90 which is my second fav It uses a different caliber than ur avg handguns but it gives quite a punch for a...(whats the name for these types of handguns again?) Chambering in 5.7×28mm which i think is a rifle round caliber Its more or less easy to come by for ammo (Am i getting my gun facts right? Or am i just being dumb?)
@@donovansmith8326 it's not even a rifle round, it's too weak to be used in rifles. It's more like a cut down rifle round if anything. But if anything it should be better than other pistol-caliber rounds since rounds like the 9mm and 45acp are like 100 years old by now and they aren't designed to face modern threats 100 years ago, the 5.7mm is a newer round that was made to face the threats at its time (which is basically a modern threat until now, the russians)
that's not a bad take tbh, the main concern is finding something that's useable for hunting/home defense, and being able to get a good source for ammo, weird sometimes "exotic" ammos and guns have more than just a heavy price tag, availably is definitely a concern
The Ruger 10/22 is the most versatile in my opinion, it's not my favorite for stoping power but it will feed you /Family and protect you, high capacity mags thousands of 22lr can be in a backpack and move with you easily. It's so easy to over think it when there's so many great guns. 👍 I'm keeping it simple. I welcome any opinions 🙂 good or bad.
Very confident with my custom 10/22. Almost 1000 rds of fully loaded magazines, multiple reticle red-dot, and scope, it's got a bipod, custom stock, and upgraded internals. It will finally be complete when I get a custom barrel with suppressor, binary trigger, and fiber optic sights with scope rings that allow me to co-witness so I have 3 different sight options
Shotgun… either a 20” 590 or a 28” super black eagle with a tube extension. All sorts of ammo for all applications you can kill a moose over 200 yrds away with a slug 👌🏼
Everyone else: This guy owns a Lynx, G28 and Lahti L-39? He must be rich! Me: This guy owns an Ascend Armory receiver set? He's clearly multiversal-tier reality warper.
Pro tip: using "if you could only have one ___ for the rest of your life, what would you pick?" is great ice breaker question on early dates. Can do with movies, food, travel, etc.
M249. Covers all the bases. It works as a machine gun with belts. And as a straight-bolt action rifle when you put a mag in it. Plus everything is a handgun if you are strong enough.
I wish i had the Kind of Money this fellow has to build my Dream gun collection. That 223. Would do the Job . All about shot placement , which im 💯 % he knows that
Hey arm&gun...what is your name and will you do Q&A soon. I have spool many questions sir,I'm just a humble fan from greeneville tennessee that love guns. Please let me know, thank you.
So tired of looking up guns that are ar/ak style and reading the word assault. That’s not the correct verbiage of the word. Some one should see if a lawyer could fix that?
I stopped buying 300blk guns when I received my 8.3 noveske barrel. I’ve never felt that I needed anything else and I don’t remember the last time I reached for any other in that caliber… Except for my aac handi rifle, that thing is just fun. Great video!
Can you put out a video explaining how you're able to afford and obtain all of these weapons I'm extremely jealous and I need to step my game up I have like 8 guns that took me forever to save up for..
Mine would be my ruger 10/22 . In the right hands it can be so versatile. Self defense and hunting . And to all those who laugh at the fact a 22 between the eyes will drop anyone 🤘🏻
Love your shorts man & your videos! Watching your channel and hickock45 has gotten me into firearms. I’m currently in the process of building my collection. I own more than a couple firearms now. They’re all modern. Building up to collecting authentic ww2 firearms and 1911s. I hope to see more guns added to your collection! Keep doing your thing brotha!!
Daniel Defense DDM4 PDW, in 300 blackout. Its quick, snappy, light, highly customizable, super or subsonic and when built for it super quiet. Good for hunting, good for defense, it's my pick and I'm sticking to it.
I’d go with my M44 mosin. Common caliber, useful for hunting. Decent for home defense… kind of joking there. Can’t edc but I have my knives. I’m not that good a shot with a handgun anyway.
My favorite gun is the Steyr AUG A3. However if I could only have one gun I would choose the Desert Tech MDRx. its compact, it can reach those longer ranges, and it is ergonomic. The MDR can also be easily be configured into an SBR for concealment. and the caliber can be easily changed. but if I had to pick one caliber, I would choose 6.5 Creedmoor. I don't have to worry that much about parts commonality due to the fact that I have a CNC machine
Having this video without him telling us what optic he’d pick is like eating toast without putting some kind of spread or topping on it, so yes we’d love to see that video
an optic is more suited to use case, he's not saying I'd use this specific set up, more just what rifle I'd use, to use your analogy he's picking the toast for the proverbial butter and or jam he would like to use as well
I like the 300 BLK out but the availability of ammo is a down fall, I just Never see it on shelves anywhere. I think I would go with something in .308 personally. Or maybe a 9mm with a 7 or so inch barrel AR style riffle.
12in ak47 with folding stock all day son beats 300blackout due to virtually same round...less small parts to break...abundance of ammo...cheap ammo...RELIABILITY!!!
Love my Daniel defense rifles but the gun in life I never thought I’d love is my IWI tavor! Extremely accurate got 16.5 inch barrel and I only have 1 eotech because they’re so expensive and it’s on that gun! So Tavor for the win IMO!
@Grayson Mann Yeah and I typically hate bullpup but the Tavor won my heart even over my Daniel defense rifles. My tavor is for home defense/hog hunting rifle (haven’t went hog hunting with it yet tho).
Good choice, however, isn’t that choice more a battle rifle? What about a 9mm Ruger PC9? Ammo everywhere. Easy to take deer, take-down-able, accurate, works as a hunter, defense and as an overall caliber.
@@AnthonyAllenJr I personally don’t like other bullpups and have heard bad things about Famas Aug L85 but the ones in the US that we can get our hands on that I’ve seen like the keltec RFD or RFB or the desert tech bullpup are apparently really bad. The Tavor I’ve had 0 troubles with except running steel ammo through it but that was just to test steel ammo I typically only have brass. A quick side note, apparently a gun called the hellion by Springfield has just recently came to the US so maybe that’s good but idk and the other one is Ukraine has a bullpup and it’s not the Tavor even tho the Ukrainians bought the right to build the Tavor they have another bullpup but pretty sure it’s banned in the US but their have been rumors that it’s super accurate and is in 7.62x39 and 5.45.
@@sandymilne224 my tavor is in 300 blackout and that’s extremely common around here for hog hunting and home defense but they primarily come in 556 and they make the Tavor 7 in 7.62x51.
This is hard but I think based on my experience, I'll go with a Glock 19. I will try the Glock 23 next time I go to the range. If I'm comfortable with the Glock 23, that will be my choice instead since it can fire not only 40 caliber but also 9mm and .357 SIG using certain barrels. Plus, having a conversion kit for the Glocks to make them like PCC, will be good for long ranges too.
My first pick was the HK416, as it combines the "best of both worlds" in my philosophy. That being: It's running on 5.56 which is versatile enough for just about anything short of large-game hunting or fighting armored vehicles (we're assuming we'll get access to a variety of ammo. M995, M855A1, what have you), yet it is not direct impingement, because I REALLY don't like a weapon which shits where it eats. That quickly became a no-go though, because getting HK piston parts is going to be an enormous pain in the arse. Second pick was the TOZ series of russian shotguns, because again, the versatility of .12g ammo. I actually partially disagree with you on the range argument, because slugs and flechettes are a thing. With practice, I'm confident one could pepper enough slugs into human-sized targets at about 200m top. And I'm really not worried about "ethical". If I'm going to hunt something, it's going to be dead. Killing isn't ethical in the first place. So if I blow things apart ... Fuck. It's going to be nasty, but if it works ... But that became a no-go too. Because unlike you, I actually do worry about the less common circumstances. I NEED to be able to hit things beyond 300 meters for that one situation where I'm not the hunter but the hunted. Being outpaced by an AR is a no-go. That in mind ... My pick would be the AK-12/AK-15 series. Normally, I'd pick an AEK instead because of it being much more pleasant to shoot and in a way, more performant than regular AKs. But same thing as HK416, replacing anything that breaks in that thing is going to be a monumental pain in the arse. I'm probably going to go with 7.62x39 as opposed to 5.45x39, mostly because it is going to be somewhat more devastating on bone and hard muscle than 5.45. Having served with a 5.45x39, I do know it does some really nasty things on flesh thanks to tumbling into things. But same as you not trusting 5.56 for medium game hunting, I don't trust that tumbling will stop things larger than a human being. 7.62x39 might be really fat and slow, but ultimately, it can still reliably hit things at about 400 meters without needing to jump through hoops or doing calculations.
762×51 for sure. Scar 17. It's lighter than an ar308 but not as good looking. Definitely the Scar with a 1x8 lvpo. 308 or x51 nato ammo is way more common than 300. I do like the idea of a light weight ar chambered in 300 but you will eventually run out of ammo. 308 or 762x51 will drop the biggest game in the states. I think the AR308 is technically more accurate. 🤔 Now I'm confused.
I am close to your selection- with a few mods. 350 LGD, with a bit more barrel length. 🤓 300 yards to up close, easily suppressed- what's not to like? 🤗 Ultra-Mega-MAGA 😎
One gun for life? Old school, totally useless for home defense, unless it’s your neighbor hood you’re protecting, and it eats thumbs. The M1 Garand. Nobody can eat just one - a side order of a 1911 in .45 cal for my home. Oh, and a short barrel 870 shotgun. I know, that’s three guns, but I’m retired so I can have 3 if I want 😮
the one gun I could never part with is my Steyr AUG A3... my favorite weapon of all time and my primary go to war... my handgun I couldn't part with is my M&P9 2.0 ... so that would be my doomsday loadout
For me it would have to be a pistol, and I am picking 9/40/45 because they are the most common. Only one gun, so I would carry it everywhere. Looking at HK USP or Berretta M9. AR15 was a decent option because you can literally buy the upper in 50BMG and a ton of other calibers technically.
This is quite confusing! For me it doesn't answer the question! You see, it ALL depends on what you intend doing for the rest of your life regarding firearms, and what your priorities are. The video seems heavily biased towards the ability to bring down large game at long to very long ranges. Now for me, that would be entirely irrelevant! I'm never likely to do any big game hunting. So, what would be the priorities for me? Firstly, compactness. No matter what, I'm never going to go about with a long gun. Not gonna happen. Then, my major priority would be home protection, and stalking an intruder around the house containing my family with a rifle, just doesn't cut it. This means it has to be compact in the order of a PDW. Now, I would probably want to be able to have the weapon in my vehicle, and possibly, under certain circumstances, concealed about my person. This might suggest a handgun, but, as you rightly said, a handgun is way too specialised for one single purpose, so scratch that. So, a compact weapon (preferably without too many "sticky-out bits" like long mags or extendable but stocks). It should be very ergonomic, able to accommodate fully grown men to smaller statures as well, equally. Another important factor for me is versatility. I want anyone in the family to be able to use the weapon, so it must be light, even with a full load on board. Also, it must have as light a recoil as possible, to aid in the ease of use dept. Clearly, it would be highly beneficial for the weapon to be reasonably accurate for short to medium ranges (up to say 200-250 metres). This implies at least a 10 inch barrel. It goes without saying that the round it fires should be effective! This implies that it must be able to take down an attacker (in defence mode) reliably, or a person-size animal in hunting mode, say a small antelope, turkey or wild hog, if needs be. [This cancels out most pistol cartridges.] That is a very formidable list for a designer. Fortunately, FN Herstal did all their homework and produced a weapon that does all these things, and then some! The FN P90 ! This is exactly what this weapon was designed to do, with its 5,7 x 28mm cartridge. In PS90 SBR form it is, in my opinion, the right weapon for me for the rest of my life (assuming of course that I had the choice). Comments invited.
B&T APC 9 Short, practical, easy to control, sensational swiss quality and 9mm which is easy to handle and available everywhere. A compromise between pistol and rifle
My number two (I know-only One!), if I couldn't have a long gun, I would go with my trusty Glock 17. Tricked out, or bare stock form, I would have zero problems carrying one all the way into geriatric decrepitude! 🤤
Remington 870 12 gauge stainless would be my pick. Can shoot anything from ducks to bear and chances are it won’t break. A 300 blackout would be fantastic but if you’re considering survival I don’t think you can beat the versatility of a shotgun. Great video!
personally being 50yr old I do not have the experience behind allot of firearms and very limited being a poor but if i had to just pick one honestly I do not think I would go with 300B.O. mainly just because the lack of availability of circulated ammunition id shtf were to hit and you run low or out of .300B.O. then it is going to be hard to find but there are a couple of other choices that would be a viable offer and better suited for mainly rural area's and commonly found in the inner cities and that is .308 in an AR platform such as the new Ruger SFAR and a few other that make a small frame .308 win AR, but in a short barrel configuration say no shorter then 12.5 still get out past 800yrds and perfect for cqb and be able to hunt whatever game you desired in north america plus with all the available 7.62x39 ammo around there is no reason you should ever run out of ammunition because keep as much as you can of your .308 brass to reload, and you can scavenge 7.62x39 for projectiles and powder and even the primer for your .308 brass reload if need be.. that would be my choice for my 1 gun
Bcm 13.7” pin and weld with the elw-f barrel with a surefire warcomp,Geissele mk14 ddc rail, radian raptor and talon, b5 bravo stock and p23 grip, larue mbt2 trigger or the ssa e both are fantastic, a surefire scout m600 light with pressure pad, magpul pro back up irons with a complete vltor a5 buffer system, topped with a micro dot or a vortex uh1 gen 2 with a 3x vortex magnifier. Hard to beat it from close up and personal to 350 yards, it’s got it.
Shotguns are way more than for shooting clays. And not to offend, but as someone who who does skeet for sport, none of your shotguns are very good for that anyways - lol. A shotgun is the most versatile and inexpensive. You can easily switch a 26 inch Rem 870 or Mossberg 500 barrel to a 18 inch slug barrel in 2 minutes and consistently make 110 yard shots with a slug. Duck, geese, quail, hog, and deer. All in one gun. Not to mention, you can literally take ANY North American game, even Bears, moose, and Elk. You can also do the same barrel switch in a semi auto gun.
What about doing something with a quick change barrel (not upper)? Technically still one gun I would say the bushmaster arc I live in Canada and it is one of few semi-autos that can take moose with it 450 bushmaster and you can swap it in 2-5min to 5.56, 6.8 sap and on and on. And 300 black out is. It the greatest moose caliber you would need to get close to get proper expansion.
If i were to choose a pistol it would be either a Revolver in .357 magnum or a semiauto M9A3 if possible, if not that then a sig. If it's a rifle then either an AUGA3 or a lever action in .357 or .44 magnum.
It has to be able to kill a brown bear for me, so imma say 30-06 at least. First thought is M1 garand. Id be okay with that. Big enough to tell the predators in my area to get stuffed when they creep about, semi auto, fun to fire, ping! Sure its heavy by modern standard, but if my gun cant change I will just adapt to its weight. 8 rounds is low but better than a bolt action. For smaller game 30-06 is wild overkill, but accurate shots maybe able to reduce waste. As a home defense tool I pity the no good doer that catches a 30-06. The platform survived the horrid conditions of WW2, thus is as dependable as ill ever need.
it will be ak 104 chamber in 7.62.39 little bit shorter than the ak 103 or akm and have the power for medium and short range maybe long but that's hard.... hard and reliable pice u can find ammunition all around also accessories dust cover mags....etc ak 104
