I think that for small channels the most important thing is to get good presence from the beginning. If you are not popular, people won't care even if you have the best videos and the best content on platform. I am not beginner anymore, but I know how hard it can be (and honestly if I didn't use a lot of Fame- ster, I would have quit a long time ago. It made everything much easier for me, especially getting to 1000 subs and view hours).
Can we appreciate how skillfully Izzy keeps her audience watching a 40-minute video with no break!? I was surprised when I finished this entire video. So this comment is a verification of Izzy's RU-vid video-creating skills. Her skill really works! Thank you Izzy for creating such a useful video. I am going to establish my channel soon! (Take Action!) (>v
I think 50% staffs and students from ptya are medical students from top universities in the world like Cambridge🙃.It's such a strange thing when more and more people are leaving their jobs to shift to RU-vidrs. It shows potential opportunities in building personal branding via social media platforms like RU-vid, Instagram, etc., can change people's lives compared to doing one job back then. Anyway, you look so stunning Izzy as always and I can see video editing has improved with more animation. I hope you can do some more vlog videos like travel in UK or life around you. Your video really helped me and many people have a smart and healthy life. Wish you all the best Izzy!
The idea of finding an actual purpose for making videos (or other types of content) is arguably something that tends to get overshadowed by the goal of becoming "successful" and gaining a ton of followers for no particular reason other than that goal itself. I've heard on several occasions that a large portion of young people have dreams of becoming RU-vidrs, but it always seems to come down to a dream of being famous without there really being much thought about what they want to be famous for, or what they actually want to accomplish when they gain a following. And I think social media as a whole is designed that way. On this platform, it's even in the name.
I think for most people in their late 20's like me we would like to have an income to cover basic bills, I just started my channel and I am hoping to improve the more I post, otherwise you are right. My hope is to entertain over time once I get over the nerves of posting videos, besides that I include a bit of useful information at the beginning of the videos.
Funny, when I was young youngsters wanted to be famous sportsmen, actors, musicians, models, dancers, etc. Hadn't thought that, in this day and age, youngsters want to be social-media stars. Same story, just more accessible; same motivation, but the bar is lower. Thanks for that insight.
I've been watching many of these videos, one channel will focus on the business side ( taxes, receipts etc) another channel will focus on equipment, another channel will focus on money and another channel will focus on content, I've seen them all but your is definitely the most informative I've seen. I've been trying to get my channel up and running for 4 years and I keep hitting a roadblock , I'm at the fear and self doubt stage. Thank you Izzy for the content. 😊
Such wonderful words about what can happen in two years. I love what you said about success. „Evan if your channel don’t blow up with thousand of followers you learn so much and transform your life.“ I can feel that you really mean it. So encouraging!
I love how this HOW TO VIDEO was very humanized. In a way you really did cover all the areas someone starting their own is facing. Simple but SUPER EFFICIENT. Thanks
ask yourself this: what's your big-picture purpose for starting your YT channel? what's your vision? Then tie that back into a key KPI / metric that is closely related to said vision to measure your progress. if you do this properly, you'll find that your YT channel is just an extension of your entire life. Vision for life is closely related to vision for YT channel.
If I would have to start again on YT, I just wouldn't waste months to get recognized by couple hundred people. When I discovered I could trigger organic growth after getting first 1000 subscribers, my life got a lot easier and my main channel exploded. People are just looking at your numbers when searching for some content. If you have low subs no one cares about you, even if you have the best content on platform.
I disagree. If your content is good, ESPECIALLY the first video you upload, you'll gain lots of views and subs. I want to start a RU-vid channel and I've paid attention to a thousand YTbers. I saw a few explode with the first video they upload.
Just in case you missed basic math, you have to get past a few hundred to get to your magic 1000 sub mark. Getting there depends entirely on quality, perseverance, popular content, and luck. You can control the first two, sort-of the third, but not the fourth. The exact time frame is out of your hands. Anybody who say otherwise is just a BS merchant.
Thank you for this video. Honestly, you made me tear up when you talked about your struggle and your encouragement really is so relatable. I haven't even scratched the surface yet. I literally just uploaded my first video today and it sucked cause of the software app I used. But I am ready to face the rough of this journey. Thank you for your sincereness.
Thank you so much for this video!!! I’m a nurse and I took action and started my Channel. I plan on using your advice to keep the viewers engaged and grow my channel.
I have tried couple of niches before. Compilation, act of kindness, top 10, data comparison... Now we are doing part of our passion, animes. It is really about consistency and not stopping plus doing the right things. This are all very good information for small youtubers. Even some not so small ones can learn from this.
Dr Izzy... 500k subscribers over short period of time with your profile 75 videos that's impressive. I'll try to set up my own channel and show people how to learn a few languages the simple ways,Thanks to your advices. :)
I started my channel to help others save money on small engine repairs. I still enjoy making the videos, torn between doing it for fun, yet want to make money to help pay for equipment I use and yearly editing cost.
I watched your 1st video on this topic when you unbox your silver plaque at 200 k subs, yesterday. I just became a subscribers because the editing in this video is far superior. What an evolution! You inspired me to do better and you are too amazing as a doctor and a youtuber.
Thank you so much for posting this video. You are so inspiring! As a small RU-vidr myself, I truly appreciate your advice, especially your technical suggestions on how to edit your video to keep the viewer engaged.
Hi there, it would be great if you could create videos guiding people on medical negligence. I had come across quite a number of people in my country dealing with medical negligence issues. They usually got confused, spent tens of thousands of dollars on lawyer fees without getting much done Thank you ❤
I’m so excited to start my journey! Today is my first day intentionally starting my RU-vid adventure and just posted my video and only got like 9 views and I’m still so proud 🥲💕
You are smart, articulate, well-spoken, present information logically and in an easy-to-understand manner, a talented editor, able to arrange and compose scenes beautifully, hard-working, consistent, you have valuable insights to offer, your accent is to die for, and to top it all off you are young and stunningly attractive, I physically feel better just looking at your face - if anything, 500K is the baseline for your channel. Maybe the only thing you lack is comedy. You're a quite serious person. Which is fine. Maybe you need a sidekick, a younger brother to riff with or a profane parrot perhaps.
My biggest problem with this was always that I have several video ideas that I would probably like to film for youtube but that's it. I don't have the desire to make 20 different videos around the same topic if I can share all of my thoughts in 1 video. So I can't really imagine having a channel that would be growing with time.
@LanaABA maybe make the serval videos and see what happens. I’ve watched a RU-vidr who made a few very long videos but titled them as free courses and he has millions of views on them. Good luck ❤
Thank you Dr Izzy! It was you who inspired me to start my youtube channel. In the beginning, I was on the fence, questioning a lot about whether the videos Im going to make were ever going to amount to anything. But, watching your previous milestone video really gave me the courage!
Am only halfway through the video and the rich tips am noting down, just wow! Can't believe you are giving us all this info for free.. Definitely going to start and grow my channel this way!
Thanks so much for sharing your experiences as a creator. You enthusiasm and honesty is so refreshing. Your kindness, too. As I listened I came up with two story ideas, always the hardest part for me... a good story with a beginning, middle and end. Again, Kudos to Doctor Izzy.
I don't know if this has been commented already, but another way to monetize your channel is with the first tier (500 subs and 3k watch hours). That's "monetizing your audience" because that's the super chat, thanks, etc. Thank you for your insights! You saying I will do something with RU-vid depending on how my energy feels, really resonated with me. I'm currently struggling with my energy period (Thank you Long-COVID), so finding energy for RU-vid besides my normal job has been hard the last year. Hopefully it will get better, but I will keep your idea most certainly in mind!
I totally agree with the ideation ideas as writing them down in a rough draft when you get the idea in a journal with simple handwriting, such as phrases and short sentences. Fine tuning it later and making full sentences become much easier later.
you are a great inspiration, thank you for sharing your feelings and your journey, many of the things you said are applicable to anything we want/need to do in our lives ❤ congratulations and thank you for sticking to it!
I love that you speak to the spiritual aspect of creation in this space- something I haven't heard any men discuss (or beauty, for that matter). it seems that all the top (young white male) 'gurus' are speaking to designing for a very male aesthetic and interest, which can be very different for women. I only found your channel, when, in frustration, I searched 'youtube and women'!!!
I really love your soul not just anyone has a beautiful soul like you and listening to you talk has helped me a lot today as I just got out hospital and I needed a uplifting talk and you was here for me when my so called friends weren’t ! Thanks 🙏 also new SUB FOR LIFE! I’m here now for the long run and imma tell everyone about you !
Thank you so much for this video, Izzy! I've been following you for a year, and your productivity videos have truly changed my life. They've taught me how to stick to good habits, even if I can only practice them for a shorter time than I'd like. I love your voice, accent, and the valuable insights you always share in your professionally made videos. Your positive attitude towards life and work is incredibly inspiring. I'm so grateful for you and your RU-vid channel. You're changing lives and inspiring thousands of people, including me. Over ten years ago, I wanted to start a RU-vid channel to teach English, but I never had the courage. As the years went by and more creators popped up, I felt my content could never measure up and gave up on the idea. But your video might be the push I needed to finally get started! Thank you, Izzy, for the love, positive energy, and inspiration you send out into the world. Wishing you continued success in your channel and career, and sending you love and gratitude. 🥰
My Queen Izzy is back!💜 I always look forward to your videos. I have noticed a change in your editorial taste, you have a new style of editing. Your videos always motivate me! from🇯🇵, ありがとう
Congratulations on your channel, a wonderful and memorable journey 🥰 I've been watching most of your videos and I've learned many experiences from you. I really admire you so much, your content is always good and creative 😍 Thank you for sharing and I wish that your RU-vid channel will grow even more in the future ❤
Congratulations for your wedding, Izzy! You and Ali inspired me to start my YT channel, saw your interviews with Ali, know your stories, I’m really happy to knowing you guys are married! ㊗️🎉🎊🥳👍🫶
I think I found my stride as far as what content I want to make, but I kinda am doing what you're saying about it being a hobby vs. a job, because I record my job. And I come home and want it to be a little easier than a 2nd job. It's growing slowly but surely and I like it like that. My downfall is coming up with thumbnails and titles, which is the worst deficit to have ahahaha. Either way great advice!
Great advice for anyone who already started or wants to have their own RU-vid channel! I like how well structured the video is. It describes all the steps you need to be successful on RU-vid in an easy-to-understand manner. Thank you a lot for sharing, these are very valuable tips!
To start a RU-vid channel, one must 1. Be as photogenic as Izzy; 2. Speak English as well as Izzy; 3. Be as smart as Izzy; 4. Be as vivacious as Izzy,...
Great video! Your content is so well done and thoughtful. I appreciate your making this particular video which is helping me get motivated! Hopefully there'll be some interest in my knowledge acquired over the years about becoming a painter.😀
I found this video to be not only very informative, but encouraging as well. You have a very calm demeanor and are very easy to listen to. Thank you for all the great info. I feel excited to get started.🎉
Thank you so much for your videos, especially this one! Your videos are very compelling, informative and inspiring. It is helping me slowly overcome the imposter syndrome and perfectionism, and start my channel ❤❤❤!
I started in 0 and now its 700 and Im very thankful even I got few subscriber because I think there are still who cares and think I can show more of my content. I pray to those who are small content creator like me that someday we will reach thousands and thousands of subscriber and reactions🎉😊 God bless everyone❤
This was a great video, those 42 minutes just flew by!! I'm filming my hobby so I guess this is my hobby within a hobby. I'm hoping 2024 is my year to hit 1000 subs. That is so far away from 168. Thanks for the terrific advice especially the First Horseman: Fear. I always worry about what people think and what I imagine is always worst than what is. Bottom line, no one really cares, they are just too busy with their own lives. Thanks!! Happy Holidays & Be Safe!!
This actually makes me feel like I’m on the right track, thank you!! I just posted my first video and no one’s watched it but me yet 🥲 but I feel like I’m on the right track with all the major elements you mentioned here, I just have to keep practicing and getting better at them :) Thank you for the practical advice!!
Hi Dr.Izzy, you are a great person. I have failed a lot in medical school and at the verge of being kicked out. It's taking a toll on my mental health. Please can you be my mentor?
I just started another youtube channel; I tried last year but I couldn't stick with it. I believe I put too much pressure on myself and didn't fully believe I could do it. Now, I've changed my mindset that I don't have to be perfect, especially for the first 100 videos. I am just pressing record and seeing what I come up with. I think I niched down too quickly.
I started my YT channel and posting every week for months because I really enjoyed it but I got so demotivated about posting for some reason. Maybe your video is a sign that I should keep on doing something I truly enjoy. Thank you!
You look so beautiful with or without makeup, I have to stop the video to see your face without make up leave a comment, and continue watching. =))))))
I'm very grateful one of my friends is a successful RU-vidr because I can always ask her things and share the little victories of this tiny channel I've just started. She's so supportive and gives me really good advice to help keep me motivated 😊💞
Thank you so much Dr. Izzy for the tips and mostly for the encouragement. When you said that perfect is the enemy of good, it resonated deeply with me. I used to postpone saying that I did not have enough materials but have noticed as you said that you can start where you are, with what you have. I have now taken the courage to start and I feel inspired watching this video. Thank you once again for sharing your authentic journey, sharing your lessons and struggles along the way.... Thank you for having patience, and for not giving up. We are blessed to learn from you now.
I still remember I knew you through your Mandarin self-learning clip, and I started following you then. You created so much meaningful content(*at least for me), and for now you’re more like my mentor in language-learning, self-care, and productivity. I’m expecting more❤️❤️❤️❤️ Thank you for your sharing every time!
Not to sound shallow, but being attractive is already going to get you subscribers on any platform, regardless of what content you have, or the quality of it. It's just the reality of this perverted, online world. This is just a general statement and I'm not implying that your subs in particular are a reflection that.
While you may have had a hard time creating the “perfect video” in the beginning, you certainly found out how to do it! I’ve watched so many videos of this type from the “big name” influencers and by far, this was the best. And doing that while working as a doctor is absolutely amazing! My wife is an advanced nurse practitioner (one step below a medical doctor here in the US) and I know how difficult it is to be a medical professional and still have a real life! outside if work!
Hi, aspiring content creator here. I am a female dev aswell as a gamer, so I guess you could call that my 'niche' although it covers a very wide scope. In that vein, I will be uploading all sorts of things from art timelapse to dev logs to gameplay until something sticks. I have lots of ideas, so content block isn't a thing for me, however, I get really stressed actually trying to implement the videos due to either dislikes of the software (premier pro I am looking at you) or microphone and camera issues getting in the way. I have this massive sense of perfectionism and I am way too hard on myself. I am so glad I found your video, and I will upload these imperfect things, because it might make one person smile.
I'd like to know more about the scripting part, is all the dialogue written previously or just a kind of summary ? . Thanks for sharing all these experiences :)
Whatever you’re comfortable with man, but I’ve seen many creators at least fully scripting their hooks, though creators have gotten away with not scripting at all - though that requires a level of credibility
