@@davidjones3625 I agree about Whitney being the best but mj is technically considered the greatest entertainer of all time..he does his dance moves the best and a lot of professionally trained background dancers could barely keep up and he never went to school for it. Also he had one of the best and distinct male voices in the world, and in my opinion had the greatest child voice ever heard still no kid top his vocals. And had the best music videos..he just had different talents but all still good.

lele lew I agree I love mj.. but here it is years later after Whitney’s death and we’re still discovering new performances!!! She never sung a song tha same way which means every concert was DIFFERENT!! Nobody else has done that.im only 27 so obviously I didn’t get to see them live.but man Whitney was in a class of HER OWN.the young Chris brown would’ve given mike a run for his money cuz Chris brown can dance his ass off. A DUET between Whitney and Michael would've been EPIC, right?!! I certainly think so! I also think that a HIT DUET between them would've ultimately lead to MORE HIT DUETS! After they and the rest of the world realized how well they ENHANCED each other, I imagine that they would've became a COUPLE and eventually MARRIED EACH OTHER!!! OMG, just imagine the LAVISH, STAR-STUDDED WEDDING they could've had at Neverland!! The media would've went NUTS covering it, that's for SURE!! But the people around them didn't want Nip and Mike TOGETHER! Why? @@joelgarcia3907 Right! Remember though, Michael Jackson first asked Whitney to perform the duet, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You", but Clive and the Arista folks, didn't want her "overexposed." So, I'm sure he felt some kind of way, and privately felt just as hurt. This is the problem with the industry, that the public doesn't see. Lots of deals made with assumptions, and unrealistic expectations, which are premeditated resentments.

That wasn't rejection . That was probably because Whitney was seeing Jermaine his brother he was married. Michael probably didn't like that.

@@bobby12348 possibility but the song was good and you have to admit was his style..theres no reason why if it was only the song choice he would not call her back to tell her himself.mj called everybody for any reason and he liked Whitney so to me there had to be more reason why he sent someone to reject her offer... Like maybe he was salty because she turned down his song he really wanted her to sing that duet and was excited about it..because if he really wanted to work with her and had no hard feelings he would've rescheduled or found a song they both liked. It just makes more sense that he was being petty for a reason otherwise he would've just declined it his self. And tbh I would be salty too lol Whitney was a new artist so she probably just did what she was told but there's a time when your an artist you can stand up for yourself and be like " I know the risk for doing the duet with mj but I want to take those risk because were friends" but instead she let Clive Davis make that important decision for her ...mj probably wondered if they were so close why didn't she stand up more and just do it.

That was in 1984 - 1985 (the affair between Jermaine and Whitney). And the song I just can’t stop loving you was released in 1987. So you can’t use that as an excuse since MJ approached Whitney probably around 1986 for a duet. I think the reason he declined is because he was going through a lot in his personal life and wasn’t up for that collab

Stop it.... Robyn was suffering in that situation and held on as long as she could. If you watch the documentary where Robyn leaves at the end of that tour she said it's killing me. What was going on with Whitney was hurting her so bad she couldn't take it and it was literally killing her. That woman gave up her college schooling to go with Whitney and protect her and that she did until she couldn't anymore. If you want to blame anyone blame number 1 Whitney... Then the rest of the leaches that sucked her dry and exploited her for her talent including her so-called husband. What Whitney and Robyn built for 20 yrs went straight down the toilet in less than 6 after she left. Robyn kept shit in order. Robyn was pulling f'n rabbits out of hats to get things done and walked away with NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT EXCEPT A BROKEN HEART AND LIFE! She was the least to benefit of all people and it's sad. Robyn had moved on got married and had ( adopted ) children. 8 or 9 yrs after Whitney's marriage and having a child herself.

Like as besties they used to be. Or simply friends. You read the whole Robyn book and still didn't get the part where she said that they were way past their intimate days by the time she got married. You seem to think too deep into Robyn's role in Whitney's life after marriage. They developed a employer employee relationship but they were fundamentally friends. They were friends before they started exploring each other's bodies. And Robyn wrote a letter to her best friend and never sent it. I'm sure she regrets that she couldn't have done a little more towards the end of Whitney's life. Hence why she wrote that book. Because as she said "I wrote this book because I wanted Whitney to be the one holding up her legacy, her accolades, and not the noise that's surrounded her death". Ok not in those exact words but queue one of her book promotions.

I just know Robyn truly loved her and not just a romantic way. A true freaking friend in which many of us never really experience and I'm glad she had that. That's special. And for all that girl dealt with throughout life even as a child in school is just a damn shame. Let's not forget her family. But I admire that she continued to love her family in spite of it all. And she still protected them. But Robyn had to separate herself from the madness for her own sake and life.

@@Lovetolivetruely going back to my original comment, Robyn did not reach out since Whitney divorced Bobby. Whitney left a message in 2006 that Robyn "accidentally " deleted. Just go back to Robyn's book. I know she wanted to be rid of Whitney because her whole life revolved around Whitney before she left around 2000. But Whitney was divorced and still alive for 7 years and not once did Robyn think of checking in on her. Not having her phone number was no excuse. It was the 2000s, there were multiple ways to connect with people. I'm not blaming Robyn for Whitney. I'm just making the point that she didn't even reach out during those 7 yrs and though she kept quiet for another 7 yrs since her death, writing this book clearly shows that she had some type of resentment towards for how she left things. Whitney kept calling her from time to time. Robyn never thought to call her back. I know she regrets that she didn't put more effort in reconnecting with her. They were older women anyway, Robyn had kids by 2009, so I highly doubt that a casual reunion with Whitney was going to interfere with her new life.

@@Lala-Lin-i2u wrong .. Robyn had no immediate access to Whitney. Whitney was able to contact Robyn at anytime. Plus every time they did run into each other and were about to take time to talk Bobby would for whatever reason pop up out of the blue and they never got to talk. Do your homework sweetie. They wanted Robyn gone and once she was gone they worked just as hard to keep it that way as they did causing the split.
