Want to SCALE your business? Go here: acquisition.com
Want to START a business? Go here: skool.com/games
If you’re new to my channel, my name is Alex Hormozi. I’m the founder and managing partner of Acquisition.com. It’s a family office, which is just a formal way of saying we invest our own money into companies. Our 10 portfolio companies bring in over $200,000,000+ per year. Our ownership stake varies between 20% and 100% of them. Given this is a YT channel, and anyone can claim anything, I’ll give you some stuff you can google to verify below.
How I got here…
21: Graduated Vanderbilt in 3 years Magna Cum Laude, and took a fancy consulting job.
23 yrs old: Left my fancy consulting job to start a business (a gym).
24 yrs old: Opened 5 gym locations.
26 yrs old: Closed down 6th gym. Lost everything.
26 yrs old: Got back to launching gyms (launched 33). Then, lost everything for a 2nd time.
26 yrs old: In desperation, started licensing model as a hail mary. It worked.
27 yrs old: "Gym Launch" does $3M profit the next 6 months. Then $17M profit next 12 months.
28 yrs old: Started Prestige Labs. $20M the first year.
29 yrs old: Launched ALAN, a software company for agencies to work leads for customers. Scaled to $1.7mmo within 6 months.
31 yrs old: Sold 75% of UseAlan to a strategic buyer in an all stock deal.
31 yrs old: Sold 66% of Gym Launch & Prestige Labs at $46.2M valuation in all-cash deal to American Pacific Group. (you can google it)
31 yrs old: Started our family office Acquisition.com. We invest and scale companies using the $42M in distributions we had taken + the cash from the $46.2M exit.
32 yrs old: Started making free content showing how we grow companies to make real business education accessible to everyone (and) to attract business owners to invest or scale their businesses.
34 yrs old: I became co-owner of Skool.com to help the many people who want to start a business online do so.
Today: Our portfolio now does $200M/yr between 10 companies. The largest doing $100M/yr the smallest doing $5M per year. Our ownership varies between 20% and 100% ownership of the companies. Many of them we invested in early and helped grow (which is how we make our money - not youtube videos).
To all the gladiators in the arena, we’re all in the middle of writing our own stories. The worse the monsters, the more epic the story.
You either get an epic outcome or an epic story. Both mean you win.
Keep crushing. May your desires be greater than your obstacles.
Never quit,
Alex
FULL DISCLOSURE
I make content to make money - just - on a longer time horizon than most. I want to build trust with business owners so we can find the best ones and help them scale. And if they’re awesome, write them a check and go all the way as partners.

@@mvricks90 The irony which is also the reason Alex is giving such good advice here is that this isn't his niche. The people who are building a brand on being dating coaches have a vested interest in having their audience fail and having to come back for more content, courses, e-books, coaching calls, etc.

I'd say a lot of those gurus found a market because of all the lonely young males looking for external validation, and saw that with any demographic that is frustrated by change, you can sell them hate and anger. So, the Andr3w T@tes of the world capitalized on that, and their minions do a lower scale version of that. Meanwhile the males stay lonely because that nonsense is such a turnoff, and get angrier at women because the manipulation isn't working because women don't believe it anymore. All of this could be avoided by the lonely males getting therapy instead of going on dating apps.

I chose a mediocre person as a mediocre person. But 14 years have passed and we’ve both challenged each other to grow and be very skillful with life’s choices. The only thing that matters in the end is the degree to which you and your spouse are committed to living a life of virtue. All the rest is overthinking it.

Fellow singles out there, do not fret if you're single on Valentine's Day or just in general! It is not a bad thing to be single and I don't get why a lot of modern dating channels nowadays kinda put people down for being single. Do not rush to get into a relationship with the wrong person, find them and get to know them by going on adventures and dates! It takes time to get a significant other and even then it may not work out. Just do not become jaded and shut yourself off from the world, that's how life loses its beauty in all of the little moments! Cheers!

We broke up right after watching this video 💔 Bittersweet moment, but my partner and I have been clashing heads for months now. It started as little thing, then we both exploded on each other yesterday... We discovered a number of things and, most importantly, not sharing the same end goal. The best part was, after watching this video, Alex structure of the video allowed us to have a genuine conversation. To be brutally HONEST, and we were. How cool! First breakup that ended so pure and full of respect 🙏 I'm really sad. It's by far the worst day of my life because I deeply care for him, but we both know we can't give up on our Own Dreams. Note to self: Although it's the worst day of my life, I'm hoping this turns into the best thing life has given me. Thank you Alex & Leila for sharing the bright side of life ❤

There's a lot of gems in here, I like the advice you give about being patient with dating. One thing that I'm not completely on the same page on is the part about compromise. I don't think it's realistic for you and your partner to always want the same things for the rest of your life, and I see compromise as a necessary part for a healthy relationship. It *is* easier not to compromise, but there's also something beautiful about valuing the other person's happiness so much that you're willing to maybe give up something that makes you happy.

Alex, Ik you said you will stop posting non-business videos for the foreseeable future to stay on course with making business education accessible to everyone but don't stop making this type of content. You bring so much perspective and value to aspects of life like relationships and I think it's a gift that you should keep giving to the world. Content like this gives your audience immeasurable values to not just their business, but their life.

Hey Alex, I really enjoyed this video! I've been watching your channel for a while now and I honestly want to say I look up to you. I'm a 25 year old single guy that didn't have any male role models growing up and I'm trying to find my purpose in life right now. Your videos are awesome and I really enjoy your content. Keep up the great work!

I married a man and we worked magic together. We were the Ying and Yang and we always loved each other and worked together in 3 businesses we succeeded at. We also had a so much fun because we were really good friends. He died from a heart attack 12 years ago. If you find this kind of love and relationship you are really, really, lucky.

As usual, you're OPTIMAL! I'd love to share that sometimes it takes helping someone to understand what metrics you judge them on and why. Which could be the key to having them perform better at the metric you judge them on. Though there could be an argument that if they don't already do it (generally speaking) there performance may never be at the rate you're seeking.

Born and raised in germany to a middle eastern background. Let me share a thought. The generation of my parents that have married through arranged marriages don’t are necessarily happier and all the love stuff but more compatible so the family as a whole seems happier or content. Trying to figure out how to fit my experience and this video regarding that topic. Happy to hear the communities thoughts on it.

Having ur parents or other elder in your life approve of and even help choose a mate is typically a really good idea - from a regular white dude who’s ancestors didn’t do arranged marriages- but who sees there are clear benefits to it.

Find a girl that wants the same freedom as you. Like I have a girlfriend, but my life is exactly the same as before. The only difference is that everything I used to do alone I do together. I eat together with her, watch a netflix series with her (Altough mostly we watch seperately because we like different things, I like anime), I game still, I study in school just as much. The only difference is that every other week I plan a date not because I haveto but because I wanna make her happy. Also instead of masturbating alone you do it together and you have sex. And also when I masturbated to porn in the past I used to feel awful and used to work less hard in school. But now that I have sex with her, it deepends our bond, it makes me want to responsibility for I realise how well I take care of my future will impact her future if she becomes my wife (idk if she will but if she did and you start thinking that when a girl sleeps in your arms after sex), it makes me work harder, she is so sweet to me afterwards that I wanna make her happy and work harder, I also wannt her to be even more attractive to me so I have started working out more. She likes my body though she has said, but I wanna become a bit bigger in muscles and lose maybe 2 kg of fat. I dont need abs I just want her to love me even more and prove to her she choose the right guy. Also I was very insecure about my size down there you know, but she has never said a word about it and we both have a great time. My size is slightly below average when you google it, but still it has been awesome both for me and her. I have gotten such a confident boost and work so much harder and have become more and more of who I want to be. So really I have become more free since I got togetehr with her. Of course is you choose the wrong person you will feel inprisoned, she will always complain, she will make you hate exist, always tell what you can and cannot do and opress you. But really that doesnt haveto be the case. IF you choose the right person you will be more free. It is always the case in life that that there is a way to make things worse or make things better. Getting a girlfriend is the same thing, but even more important. She will either ruin your life or make you better than you ever thought you could be. Not because she forces you but because she is so kind and makes you happy so you wanna make her happy. OF course the same applies for girls. Choosing the wrong guy can make her life hell or heaven. And it is really harder to find a good guy. Like I dont have money, aint fit, dress average, but still got a gf. However I am good at math and I helped her in class at uni and then we fell for each other. What we both do is make each other more free. More guys that make their woman less free than more free, however there are many women that do the same to guys. But really both should be able to do what they want and still love each other and both love existing when being with each other and feel like they can bve themselves and are accepted and forgive each other for not being perfect. Never stone walling each other, hlding grudges on each other, never complaining when the other asks for help, and never giving critisicm. OF course to set boundaries you have to do those things, but 90% of the time you should both be happy and talk to each other happily. And when you set bounadries or there is a problem remember it is you two against the problem and not against each other. You need to find a way to solve the problem so both win and neither gets comprimised or sacrificed. It is possible but you have to find the right person that is kind and who wants the same life as you or that you can live together and do what you want in your free time but then come together and still help each other sharing the burden of life making you both more free. IF any one of you feels trapped or less free, then you should split. Both should feel more loved for who they are and can be who they are, both should feel more free than ever and doing what they actually want with their life, and both should be their true selves never sacrificing themselves but becoming more of twho they want to be.

Thank you for the dice part. That was exactly my last relationship, it’s been three months since the breakup. Got with a guy who didn’t have actions match his words in terms of ambition and a plan for life and career. Fast forward for years, he’s got a job that’s taken him a new direction where we no longer wanted/valued the same things. People change, but next time I want someone more stable and we grow together.

@thelifewithnate 7 месяцев назад
Not Alex, mate but wanted to weigh on your question. You will find that by doing a deep dive into yourself and discovering what you want out of life, free from any external influence. Do an audit of where you are in life and create an anti-vision of what you would do if you stayed the same. Project yourself 10 years into the future with what your ideal life could be.
