This is honestly my favorite spoken word. She probably had written this about her sibling or friend and it took a lot of courage to write and perform this.
No words can express the warmth you two wonderful young ladies placed into broken hearts. God is doing a new thing in this world. Its starts with the willingness to let go the pain and allow him to use you. Thats exactly what you two are doing. May God continue to heal your wounds and those who yawl touch as God guide you on this journey we call Life. Amen Sistas.....
i crieddd my eyes out listening to this. things like that makes no sense to me. . .god bless every innocent victim. somethings gotta give. i'll say a prayer for the world tonight.
Joshua went to my alma mater and i dont even remember hearing this story...much love to his family and to the girls who performed this. my heart also goes out to the family of Jarquavius 2 young lives were lost that day
Damn. the sorrow of last 200 years, all wrapped up in that song.every black person knows that sound, Our Aunties,Sisters and Mothers sing it, have done so for many years, sorrow runs in our blood,we are born to it,we live it The pain has defined us..........its time to re-define ourselves, not as desendants of slaves but..........descendants of Nation Builders, ancestors to Kings and Queens waiting to be throned, A CHANGE IS GONNA COME!!!!!
Just wow this had such an impact on me so so sad but beautifully spoken. She sounds like she is talking about someone close to her that she has truly felt that loss of the person in the poem.
*Tear* really hit home, so many young ppl gettin killed ova nothing everyday; i wish each one of them would have learned to just walk away R.I.P to tha lost.!!!
***** no offense but you don't have to watch it and you certainly can't call anyone a weirdo I mean you typed all your feelings wow a two year old can do that but unlike a two year old you can't even say it to their face
this poem brought me to a place that i needed to be jus now. we neva look at someone dying as being a problem unless its someone we knw, but wen listenin to this, u made me feel like i should have been there holdin joshua and preventin his death. im sorry fa yo lost, but so much greatness has come from yo pain. yo friend is at peace, because now everyone knws the story of joshua.
Damn! I remember his story on the news, its been almost 3 years since he's been gone, but it felt jus like yesterday. Joshua had went to my high school, had a bright future a head of him! He was so laid back and easy to be around simply truly an angel here on earth. No wonder God had called for him so soon!... R.I.P Josh!
This was one of the first spoken words that ever made me cry, I also had a friend named Carl who was killed and these words hit me deeply, may Joshua rest in paradise
Amazing and sad at the same time. I def teared up. We can lift up our voices and live lives that change the tide of violence and senseless killings in our neighborhoods!
