Jungle justice is cruel and unmerciful to condemn someone before even allowing the accused to speak. The elderly lady was evil, but they were just as bad. "Evil in Waiting" is what they were.

This is somewhat similar to the Amaud Aubry story in Georgia, where a white man and his son chased Amaud while he was jogging in their neighborhood, assuming he was stealing from a home under construction there. Then, a neighbor joined in on the chase.
