This one actually surprised me. I didn't think that Missingno would be on the Pokedex entries series of videos.

I was certain missingno was going to drown itself at the end, unable to die, as an explanation to why it is found in the water in the game. Let's be honest, this is Dorkly, this could have happened.

Honestly with how insane the lore is now with ultra space, they can totally make Missingno into a real Pokémon

Considering how famous the Missingno glitch is, I'm surprised Gamefreak never made a Pokemon based on it. EDIT: Yes people, I get it. Porygon-Z and Type:Null may have been based on Missingno.

So every time an adult sees a missing no, they pull out their eyeballs, and every time a child sees and catches it, they are buried/crushed by whatever is the 6 item in their bag.

So basically Missingno is like an entity from the 4th or 5th dimension that tries to interact with our world and the expected happens.

Holy crap, the amount of references is uncanny! Fossil Kabutops, "infinite" item on 6th spot, glitching the Hall Of Fame data, Cinabar coast... Great stuff!

Missingno was always my favorite Pokémon, I’m not even gonna lie. When I used to play Pokémon, I would always have a glitch inspired team that at least consisted of having a Porygon Z in it!

I've always thought that Missingno should be a legitimate pokemon, especially with how popular it still is even after so many years. Like Unown, in a way. A mythical pokemon, so it can't breed, and one that's not really viable for battleing, just more of a bonus accomplishment for the postgame sort of thing. A pokemon you have to go out of your way to try to locate and get to, like the Regis, or that might involve intentional 'glitches' or doing things no one would ever even think to do normally, as a sort of homage to the 'glitch' aspect. And it could even be explained in-game as the residual effects of this pokemon having been in that area and somehow damaged the 'reality.' It pretty much already IS a pokemon to the community, so making it official would just be a really neat way for them to honor this old pokemon legend, to let us have the ability to keep a little piece of nostalgia for ourselves in a pokeball. Unfortunately, I do think if they had any desire to do it, it probably would've been done in the Let's Go games. Which is a big shame, that really was such a perfect opportunity. They wouldn't have even needed to say anything about it, someone would've tried to do the original method for kicks and giggles, and discovered it actually works, and you could legitimately catch it without it glitching the game to hell and back (pretty sure they would've removed the duplication sideeffect tho, the buzzkills.) That sort of a thing would've blown the hell up, instantly viral. It would've been so amazing. But no, poor Missingno still isn't official. [As a side, it should totally be number 000. There is literally no other number that would fit but that one. And it would sorta add to the 'this thing wasn't supposed to exist but for some reason it does and it doesn't fit anywhere' motif.]

The duplication along the shoreline was so ACCURATE.

I can't believe they haven't embraced Missingno. as a canon element of the world or at least make an official and intentional media appearance in something out of the standard continuity.

I remember leveling missingno with rare candies would cause it to evolve into kangaskhan. Since missingno knew sky attack, and you could teach is a bunch of water and flying type moves that turned into my favourite way to win matches

I never thought you guys would tackle this part of pokemon but I love that you did, honestly I'd love to see someone make a series centered around Missingno. and it's effect on the world around it, I remember when the whole Missingno. "true form" thing came about and it was an actual bird that shared its color scheme and typing, so seeing that be a plot point would be cool!

The bikes appearing is a reference to the duplication glitch. When you encounter Missing no. Whatever item is in a certain slot in your inventory will be duped x99. People usually use it with the Golden Nugget or Master Ball

I wonder if MatPat is going to cover this in the Pokemon lore soon. Makes sense that it would happen, at this point.

Missingno uses "Rips out eyeballs" It's super effective.

i remember being obsessed with missingno for a while about a decade ago. i built a virtual lego mosaic of it, built it in minecraft, and even played as missingno in drawn to life. those were good times

Seriously, I do hope one day Gamefreak acknowledge MissingnNo and make it a legendary mythical. He'd be ghost/dark when entering play, but every turns, it's two types randomly change and it can only use Metronome.

Missingno. was actually pretty awesome to use in battle. I mean, you could only ever use it once before it leveled down to 100 and changed into another Pokemon but for that one battle, it was devastating!

255/10 I love this XD Also, making a reference to the episdoe where Acreus dropped his Chesto Berry was a nice callback. A lot of people don't seem to realize this, but Missingno actually occupies 39 different ID slots. There were originally going to be 190 Pokemon, but 39 were cut and erased, with Missingno replacing each one, since most of their data was blanked out. 9 of them still retain their cries. For most of them, their front sprites are lost forever, though most of their back sprites are in the leaks. the ones which DO have known front sprites, their sprites were found in the manga about Satoshi Tajiri, and fans recreated them based on how they looked in the comic. The Old Man glitch works how it does because Game Freak forgot to remove the wild encounter data from the left facing shore tiles. Talking to the Old Man will move your name data to the wild encounter table, since the Old Man's name needs to be in the name's spot, so it moves it there s it can put it back later, and that's not a problem in Viridian City since there are no wild Pokemon, but it doesn't clear out the encounter table data when you fly to Cinnabar Island because there are no wild Pokemon there either. The shore tiles, for some reason, don't clear it either. And the glitch bases the encounters on what your name is because your name was written into the encounter table after you talked with the Old Man. So, Missingno gives you 128 of your 6th item because when a Pokemon is seen, the flag for it being seen in the Pokedex is set to 128, meaning you saw it, but since Missingno is outside the valid ID range, it sets it at the spot where Missingno would put its Pokedex flag WOULD be (IF IT HAD ONE!), which JUST so happens to be where your 6th item slot is. It corrupts your Hall of Fame because it freaks out when it sees the invalid front sprite. I dunno how exactly THAT works. And about the battle spprites being flipped and looking like they're melting, Nintendo was wrong about releasing your Pokemon or deleting your data to fix that. How you ACTUALLY fix it is by viewing the stats of a non-glitch Pokemon in the Pokedex (Possibly in the Stats menu from the party screen too, not sure if that works)

Nice video, and nice take on of Missingno :D Love it. Fun Fact: In Pokemon Tabletop United, it is suggested that Missingno is some kind of Lovecraftian Legendary - Which kinda fits. It is a creature that was never created and still it exists, waiting for someone to break the bounds of reality to come free, while it will corrupt the world with its mere existence. Even how it looks is just based on how the game was able to interpret it - So we can't see the true form of Missingno, just what we are able to see with our limited mind (or in this case the limited workspace of the game).
