Had to watch this clip in honor of the Belz. I saw him do stand up. I liked his dryness. He had a late nite show where the off camera producer had to suggest an interesting question to ask a pool pro he had on one nite. You could feel the tension through the TV. The Belz did things his way.

The people I grew up watching on TV seem to be passing everyday now. RIP The Bell.

Belzer was another of those comedians that surprised me that he lived this long. Not unlike Richard Lewis. At least The Belz didn't go out by suicide like his Father and Brother.

I really enjoyed watching Richard on Homicide, Life on the Street. I also liked Andre Braugher on there. That show was allegedly "the best show no one is watching", according to TV guide. I watched it religiously though and loved it.

This Sunday (19), the series lost one of its main actors: Richard Belzer, who played detective John Much for more than 300 episodes. Stand-up comedian and actor on the Law & Order: SVU series, Richard Belzer, left the scene this Sunday (19/2), aged 78. He played detective John Munch in the American police series and left the production in 2013, after participating in more than 230 episodes. The outcome was confirmed by friends to The Hollywood Reporter. There is still no information on the artist's cause of death. Belzer was born on August 4, 1944, in Bridgeport, United States, to a Jewish family. As an actor, he starred in famous series such as Miami Vice, The flash, Lois & Clark, The X-Files and Arrested Development. Through social media, friends and former co-workers mourned Richard's death. Actress and comedian Laraine Newman said Blezer was one of the funniest people she had ever met. "I'm so sad to hear of the passing of Richard Belzer. I loved this guy so much. He was one of my first friends when I first came to New York to do SNL. We used to go out to dinner every week in Sheepshead Bay for lobster. funniest people ever. A master at crowd work," he wrote on Twitter. Playwright Warren Leight highlighted the qualities of the actor and comedian. "Richard Belzer was the first actor to welcome me when I started at SVU. Open, hot, bitter, whip smart, surprisingly kind. I loved writing for Munch and I loved being with Belz," he said. The cause of death was not disclosed. But, according to Scheft, the actor had "various health problems" and died at home in the city of Bozouls, in southern France. Follow your path in peace, aware of the mission accomplished.
