A woman in Texas filed a new lawsuit Monday accusing Cleveland Browns quarterback Deshaun Watson of sexual assault and battery in 2020.
The allegations in the civil suit, filed in Harris County (Tex.) District Court, are related to an incident that the accuser said occurred after she invited Watson, then with the Houston Texans, to her apartment for dinner. The lawsuit alleges Watson “roughly sexually assaulted” the woman there.
“This is an extremely serious matter,” Anthony Buzbee, the woman’s attorney, said in a statement provided Monday to The Washington Post. “We intend to pursue this case with the same aggressiveness with which we pursued the others. We want a jury trial. As far as any specific comments on the facts of the case, we believe the lawsuit speaks for itself.”
Watson served an 11-game suspension without pay and was fined $5 million in 2022 for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy based on allegations of sexual misconduct, under a settlement reached by the league and the NFL Players Association. They can try to erase Watson from the history books of the Cleveland Browns, but we will never forget those three #1 draft picks, one #3 pick and two #4 picks traded for a highly, highly flawed character QB. So the brain trust of Berry, DePodesta, Stefanski and Haslam thought it was a great idea to have Watson be the face of the Browns?!?!

It's not even a question. Get out of the terrible contract, drop him, and move on. This is the most talented this team has been since the team came back. This is the most structured the organization has been since the return. Start to build off of it so you can continue forward and make smarter moves from here on out.

My opinion let him play out this year. He will either embarrass hisself and go down in history as the worst trade ever or be one of the best trades ever!! Either way Watson and Mr Berry both jobs on the line!!!

Theres alot going on in that building that we as fans dont know about. I seen a hole team collapse this past Sunday. Somethings up! And it smells bad. I feel like theres more women going to be jumping on that wagon, they know DeShawn got that bag, lets get some nuggets . Either way, DeShawns head is spinning. He total got his ass kicked sumday. 2 deaths, and mostly likely knew the wrecking ball was coming out monday- another one.

It depends on the wording of the contract. There is a similar situation with different allegations concerning Wander Franco of the TB Rays. Unlike Watson, he has not been active with the Rays for over a year. He is still under contract, allegations pending.

He gets suspended he would need to be on the team for the rest of the year and then on the first day of the new league year give him a post June one cut to spread out the cap penalty and then let's empty the tank and draft Quinn Ewers.

If he failed to disclose the allegations brought forward in the new lawsuit to the Browns when he signed his contract (rn, it's unknown whether he did or nor) and gets suspended, then the Browns would actually be able to straight-up void his contract.
