Susurrations of leathery skin beacon back at me as my gaze is fixated on the canvas of memories before my eyes. Worn skin and monumental canyons litter the surface as if a meandering river of erosion and time has plodded along it without restriction. There are no secrets here. All scars, all marks, all burns, all grazes, all impacts displayed as open as a water lily for all the world to see. Every memory a crease, every scar an imprint and the brush strokes of human interaction forges every inch of the canvas. Two vast lakes of blue lie in the landscape, a relieving change from the desert of pools and expanse of wrinkles. These hopeful pools stare back with relative omnipotence and a wise outlook. Eyes of: wonder, understanding, experience, hurt, love and resilience. Such a loving outlook on life despite the cruelty of time’s mark on the face of this human. As I write this I wonder, why is age so feared? why has society labelled wrinkled skin and fallen eyes as somehow wrong? To me, this look is one of acceptance and freedom; unbound from the shackles of society and free to display the true nature of man upon one's face. Like a worn leather shoe fitting perfectly after years of use, until enough time has been spent to develop a symbiotic nature with said shoe until total synchronicity is achieved. That is my reaction to the observable nature of the elderly, such an intertwined relationship with their body after years of use together as inseparable as a dog with a bone or a soldier and his rifle… Neglection of upkeep after a long-lost love departed clouds the mind of the one before me as revealed by the slight hopeless twinkle in those still young eyes as if a mindless voice inside is bellowing for assistance yet cannot escape. The self-restriction of being unnoticeable in society is too strong. instead, life goes on under the film of reservation, apparent in all things no matter how secure. This hopeless inside sometimes pierces the surface in the form of a scar or new wrinkle until all damage has been dealt and all debt repaid, when sweet death shall bring salvation to the soul for an afterlife of peace. The elderly may never achieve the status they deserve and may forever be stared down by the judging faces of the youth and repressed by the financial burden they possess. Yet ignoring such selfish ideas leaves behind the simple image of a man. A man of wisdom and knowledge. A man with susurrations of leathery skin blanketing the canvas with meanders of time eroding their way along the surface until the allowance of time has run out leaving the shell of a once young active yet caring man till the last moment. Until the final flicker of life will whisper away to conclude the life of majesty. How's this Mr Salles?? Thank you for all your revision help, it has been amazing!

@@lawrencia5099 I guess, don't think of it literally, take a subtle detail and use it to describe the person's predicament as a whole. Such as the wrinkles inferring time and use, or the kind of dirty face representing neglect. Just take a detail and waffle on about it until you've milked it dry. P.S. use big words, they love it...

When is says 'as *suggested* by this picture', does this mean that you don't have to use the photo and could describe any old person? Or for example in 2019 it was 'Describe a market place as suggested by this picture', could this be any market place you can imagine? Could you use the picture for inspiration but also imagine your own to describe?
