The song tells of a woman singer stringer striving for independence. She did won't to live a life of service she wanted to sing. She was all confused and depressed. She needed to seek her path to independence. The lyrics suggest a message of love and unity. Donna Summer wrote this for a musical. Her voice is outstanding. She's got a lower register that sounds so good and a 3-octave range. If she used her head voice she could go to 6 octaves. I've never heard this song before, but it sure gave me goose bumps.
